Texas has voted to get rid of the tampon tax!!! ((along with taxes on many other products)) bill 379 and had full bipartisan support in both the house and senate. the bill has yet to be signed by the governor (as it was only enrolled on the 29th) and would go in affect on september 1st 2023. this is exciting news and should help to end period poverty in texas!!
That is awesome!! I can't wait until Texas influences other states to do this...

I got my first period in the middle of ninth grade. I felt so freaking late, didn't realize how heavy they really are, and did bleed through a little a couple times but ended up ok.
I just finished 9th and still don't have it

I got my first period at a 5th grade Halloween party (on Halloween) and I was in an inflatable T. rex costume 😭

I got my period two years ago when I was 14 all my friends had theirs already so I felt peer pressured and in faith grade we had a puberty class so I knew what to expect I remember it was in December of 2020 and I got home from my grandma's house and saw it in my underwear and was like oh I have this now good
that's my period story
I got my period on the last day of 2nd grade. I wasn’t scared ,because when I was 5 years old I did my due diligence and realized that I wanted to know how and why my body works. I was wearing white underwear, I went to the bathroom, I saw the blood and thought "Oh, my period. This is a little early, but okay."
Lucky this was one of the only times my mother came to the party and I told my mother "Mom, I think I got my period." My mother wanted to check, she agreed and gave me a panty liner. The lesson of story is be proactive and understand your body. DON'T wait for other to explain something to you, but they probably won't explain well or accurately.

I think the government should provide period products for free if women want to apply for them. Like we can get a 1 year worth of products every year and a tax rebate if we apply for the menstrual cup only. That way women can still choose if they want to buy products in the store like if you have preference but women who may not be able to afford products have free options. Also, I think medical professionals and the government etc. should promote the menstrual cup to the younger generation They are safer and a more cost-effective, less waste.
There also kind of u comftorsble. I prefer tampons
@@Havis_Princess i do too but I'm thinking about it for our future, you know daughters and granddaughters on so on. we need to change how we handle periods to better prevent TSS and also enviromental pollution etc etc its a learning curve for us but if its all that the girls that are coming up know they'll be use to them

@@NNN911N dont be afraid to ask a trusted adult or a parent. Also, do your research, there are a ton of vidoes that explain it very well. Always set an alarm for taking your pain relief, and check which hole the blood is coming from. And NEVER BE ASHAMED OF IT!!
@@BearlikebobaDue to some research I did, it's actually spotting, not my first period, but it's a sign my period is very close.

О, я из россии и здесь эта тема очень табуировна, когда стоишь на кассе магазина с прокладками видишь, что кассир смотрит на тебя из под угла, эта так ужасно, мои первые месячные начались в 14,5, был июль я уехала в город на 10 дней, и мамы не было рядом, я понимала что это такое, но было очень страшно, пошла в магаз и встретилась с этими осуждающими взглядами, в России нет уроков полового воспитания, в лучшем случае узнаешь о менструации от мамы🥲
Не стесняйтесь осуждения недалеких людей. Возможно местами тема табуирована, но в молодежной среде, многие сейчас говорят об этом спокойно, догоняя всеобщий тренд толерантности. В аптеках, в области даже за городом, видела в продаже менструальные чаши. Поэтому медленно, но верно, и мы там будем. В России очень много людей, огромные территории поэтому кажется периодически что вокруг мрак, идешь в школу, универ, слышишь и видишь людей которые застряли в далёком прошлом. Не слушайте их, не давайте им тянуть себя на дно.
Хороших умных людей у нас тоже много, просто их надо искать.
