- I tried the tonal home gym. Is it worth it? With a price tag close to $5,000 with the accessories, would you pay that and also the monthly fee?

Have you tried the tonal? If so, let us know your thoughts!
Purchased Tonal 2 years ago and have seen significant gains in strength. For me, I wanted something super convenient to use and keeps me motivated to keep coming back for more. I had considered getting a personal trainer, but even with the subscription costs, Tonal simply makes far more financial sense.
That's awesome. Yeah I think definitely worth it for those who will use it well. Sounds like you are getting your money's worth.
Bought mine when it was new on the market before the price & subscription hike. Dr said i was pre-diabetic. I was working out with a personal trainer at the time. I was never a serious fitness person, but I must say that I am quite pleased with mine. Takes up no space & the leg workout is better than I expected.
Of course whenever there is something new, in time there are alternatives that develop. I still use it 3 to 4 days a week.
That's awesome. I really enjoyed it. Definitely worth it if you use it 3-4 times a week.
I’ve had my Tonal since 2020 and I think it is great, I use it regularly. I don’t mind the subscription cost, I use all of the functionality, including programs and workouts.
That's awesome. Yeah, I'm sure for those who take advantage of all the features it's definitely worth it. Awesome machine.
Try a total gym. If you get the total gym fit model used, it is every bit as good as many of these types of machines. I used to think that a total gym was a gimmick, but is it it is an exceptional machine and gives an exceptional work out. I got mine for a couple hundred bucks used and I would not separate from it for the world.
Absolutely! I had one for about 7 years and absoultely loved it. Agree on used, they are not bad on prices and they are quite versatile. Some people are going to want a machine like tonal because it will tell you exactly what to do. But for a serious price!
Bought mine used for $2000 locally!!!
Great, do you do the monthly subscription?
I would have bought it if membership was something close to a real gym membership cost (I pay $30/month). The membership pricing is out of the roof.
Agreed, especially with that up front cost. Though u can find them used for about half.
There's competitors now that are good. Vitruvian, Speediance, Unitop U-trainer. Even things like HandyGym and Bowflex Revolution are good options.
Charlie right rear leg
So my cables stopped working- clank clank and then won’t retract. I contacted Customer Support. Went through the cable walk out. Did not fix it. So now Tonal tells me since my Tonal is out of warranty all they can do is replace it for $795. Like I want to put another $795 into a machine that cost me $4,000 plus all the membership payments! I guess I have a very expensive piece of trash on the wall now.
oh dang! Sorry to hear that. Definitely a pricey product.
The arms are too rickety for me. Great programming , but I hate the creaks and squeaks
You must be a big dawg! I'm a pretty slim build so I found them pretty solid for me. Takes some time getting used to the adjustments.
Thanks, that was helpful.
Question is, do you think it’s worth it?
Well, if you have a lot of money and want a great workout in a smaller space, I'd say so. I did a quick search for a used one and found a few within an hour of me for about $2,500. So, maybe going used is a good option.
@@poodledad thanks for the response. I don’t have allot of money but if it’s the right tool for the job then I could save up for it. It looks perfect for my PT exercises for recovering from a wreck and brain injury. The coaching and exercise explanation would sure help. Another problem is I live in Alaska on an island, Ketchikan, so I’m not sure if they would sell me one because I doubt the have any installers in my area. But maybe I could find and ship up a used one from Seattle.
Thanks again.
i've trained on it too, looks flimsy but it's not, then again your multi gym in background Life Fitness it 10x better no offence.
yeah I was impressed by the tonal but it better be impressive at that price! It would take up much less room than my multi gym.
That looks like what someone whose too lazy to workout would buy and use twice before never touching it again.
So maybe you can snag one cheap used! I think you are correct.
@@poodledad Why would I waste money on this pile of shit?
You couldn’t be more wrong about this I’ve had my Tonal since June 2 of this year and I’ve used it pretty much every single day. No workout equipment makes you want to work out so that’s on you but Tonal takes away all the friction you don’t even have to put on workout clothes if you don’t want to. I think it’s 1000% worth it
Poop deck huh lol
Yeah, not my house. Ha. But it's nice that it points the way to the bathroom.
