You are talking about us dragon ball fans but you seem to not realize the saitama fans are always coming at us claiming he can beat goku and that he is invincible. Everyone always uses goku as a measuring stick. Saitama can GROW infinitely according to his fight with cosmic garou. He is basically like DBS broly. So he's not really anything special. He's a human version of dbs broly. And there are so many things we can use for DBZ/DBS. Because guess what ? Toriyama never claimed what is and is not canon. Like for example the old dbz movies. Toriyama never claimed they were not canon only that they are in a different dimension. Heck he claimed GT was a grand side story. He never claimed that it is not canon either. And given we see brief appearances of movie villains in GT we can assume it's in another dimension to. We can also use doctor slump if we want and that mess is broken. I'm not saying our fanbase can't get out of hand but everyone keeps coming at us!

I think the word you were looking for is entitlement. DBZ fans (including me) grew up with the idea that Goku was the best, the most powerful, made them anime fans too. Fast forward to a time where people break down characters for a living and verses get more crazy and some people can't handle the idea their GOAT could ever lose.

The original story is basically 100% over now. The best they can do is hurry up and get to the end of Z, then just do all their own cash grab BS taking place after end of Z and maybe give it a new name besides DBS. Leave Toriyama's original work and timeline alone atp, imo.

People aren’t even saying it’s a possible meta, a potential way to scale Goku or a highball of DB, people say of you don’t scale Goku to Outer, you’re an ignorant downplayer
But these are the same people rhag ignore the fact that Toriyama linearly scaled his series from Moon Level to Planet Level to Dwarf Star Level to Solar System Level to Galaxy-Multi Galaxy, Potentially Universe level to Low Multi from OG Dragon Ball all the way to Z. But author intent doesn’t matter
Then these same people would downplay other series. For example, Bleach, where Kubo establishes that spatial dimensional tiering exists as a concept in the Bleach verse and has the 2nd smartest character in verse and guidebook statements talk about transcending others the same way 3-D beings transcend 2-D beings, talks about hyper spaces, space time continuums separating various universe to infinite sized dimensions etc and say that it’s all metaphors and that Bleach is planet level when Kubo’s author intent lines up with scaling Bleach to these 4-D and higher tiers of power

Goku does it once, and they claim it is as fact. Another character like Superman does it multiple times, and they say it is an outlier.
Hell, Saitama in OPM is getting in power scaling that reaches infinite timelines and outversal potential to the point of dimension bending..and they want to say it is "not really outerversal" despite the character themselves saying it is.
Goku does actually have plausible scaling for outerversal though. Dr Slump and Heroes are a few examples

The thing about the evidences people use to support this idea is that none of them come from Toriyama himself, more importantly they aren't supported by the Dragon Ball universe either.
Other world as well as the other Planes Goku affected, all exist within Universe 7(other universes have their own versions of these planes), none of his feats of power can even be felt outside it either. More importantly these realms work under their own rules but they hold no authority over the main Universe 7, their rules and effects only apply within the plane itself. Meaning, these aren't really superior planes that transcend the material realm, these are alternate planes that supplement the material realm. A real Outerverse transcends everyting in a universe and multiverse. Such as the world where Zenoh lives, It lies beyond the multiverse and beings of the multiverse cannot touch it unless invited, or unless they use a mcguffin created by outerversal beings or inspired in outerversal tech. Zenoh, the Great Priest/Grand Minister these are actual outerversal beings. As they clearly transcend the rules of all of the universes.

You are correct. I was merely under the impression this was their role model (hero and idol), but after AT's death they came out in force to all tell their life story (often fatherless and using Goku as a surrogate).
Realistically dragon ball cosmology is never getting any upgrades. Goku will always cap at 7D so dragon ball fans will have to preach the outerversal meta for years.
This exactly; Akira/Toyotaro arent scientists and they arent interested in making goku look impressive past superhuman feats.
His entire basis for goku struggling to lift 50 tons was that it would be impossible for a human to do so the feat is impressive🤦♂️.
Yet you have Superman lifting over 9 nonillion tons in one had no difficulty. Or saitama physically flipping the entire surface of a moon off.
This is also more apparent in the actual fight scenes. You supposedly have goku at universal now but his full force kamehameha in blue doesn’t even damage buildings. I get they use “Ki control” as an argument but thats a copout tbh. Other chars way weaker than goku showcase far more environmental destruction.
It also doesn’t help that the threats by the villains/cast don’t go past planetary to galaxy level either. Goku is universal in BoG base? ToP frieza thought a planetary blast was impressive and enough to take out toppo. Zamasu threatened the destruction of a single galaxy, so did Moro. Ultra Ego Vegeta’s attack was stated by Vegeta to specifically be planet level.
The dragon ball verse is never going past 7D just as you said because Akira isn’t gonna pull some DC comics and go all hyperversal cosmology on us. The most it will ever go to is high multiversal+.
TLDR; the way dragon ball is written will make it so the fight scenes never really go past building level destruction, planetary level and galaxy level attacks will be used as flexes, and goku and vegeta will never perform any visible feat past universal all because of the fact that Akira/Toyotaro don’t care about that stuff.
Which really sucks for the power scaling side of the Db comm because they seem to think goku can’t lose. Dude, his limited cosmology is gonna get him surpassed by every anime MC in 10 years to come.

Toei is way better at this because even before super garlic jr was creating hyperspace and goku and cooler running through the subspace goku uses for instant transmission which is said to have no concept of space and time.The anime also had infinite zamasu merge with the whole timeline and almost spread to other timelines had zeno not intervened this makes more sense than the manga because why tf would you erase a whole timeline with 12 universes because someone can clone himself? After that Jiren is said to be stronger than this zamasu and even surpassed his god of destruction and also stated to trascend time. and then the characters shake and warp the infinite void in the anime. Then broly and gogeta shater superdimentions, if it was the manga this would have never happened. Its also why anime goku is stronger than manga goku because toyotaro mostly deals with galaxies.
With daima I imagine things will get worse like gokus durabilty will be lower and get hurt more easily.

Pretty much, you don't see people saying Superman beats full power Darkseid, or him beating Perpetua all by himself. Superman fans, the ones that don't go around using alternate versions for everything, know that he is powerful but not unbeatable. As for Dr. Doom, that depends on which version and whether he has a plan.
Knowing magic isn't enough to beat Superman, as Superman still has a tough body that can withstand punishment even when magic ignores his damage invulnerability. Not only that he also has regeneration. As for Galactus yes, Galactus wins, granted Superman doesn't buff himself with sun dipping. Which is possible because Superman doesn't like to resort to that.

At this point, the *Can **____** beat Goku* and *Batman wins using prep-time* gave me a lot of headaches in the vs community.
I have a lot of complaints with Goku. Cus a lot of characters can easily beat Goku just by simply blowing up the planet they're on because Goku and other Saiyans can't breathe in space and they'll die. So if Goku achieves a new form or technique where he can breathe in space, then things would get interesting in VS debates.

The problem is some many people mainly know dragon ball because how popular it is. And many people who don’t know scaling thinks Goku is the top dog of anime. I have to explain to people how Gilgamesh washes Goku.
Its the same thing with gear 5 luffy and how people were hyping up his strength saying he can beat anyone during wano during the gear 5 hype.
It has more to do with fatherless poor kids growing up with this as their one option until it became the culture of multiple nations (South American countries in particular **though Central up to Northern as with Mexico applies for sure**). Multiple generations treating the guy as their idol, dad, insert, hero, etc. It is extremely personal to them. Polling demonstrates that is where the flame of "Goku" blazes. Meanwhile Gohan is in Asia and Vegeta is in Europe. Still bizarre to see them inject their values into their favorite (pretending he's into women, is a lady's man, always wins, is the strongest, etc.). It threatens their belief system and mental state to challenge the lies they use as foundation for their personal story and core personality.

It's crazy but it's understandable. When DB fans see or hear Goku loses to say Superman they take that as that comment saying, "Oh Superman is a better character than Goku" which isn't the case. They take it as their favorite character getting dogged on so they feel like they have to come to their defense. I've had a similar problem in the past. Im a Michael Myers fan so when i saw the internet come together and agree Jason would ragdoll my boy i was offended. But not only did i learn to accept that thats true, i learned that my boy Michael is still an amazing horror villian and losing to Jason doesn't change that. It's important to separate a characters powers, abilities, and strengths from who they are as characters.

The problem I’m seeing that dragon ball fans like myself (I’m not afraid to say that I’m a dragon ball fan or even a major Goku fan) face is that even when we don’t say anything other verses always gotta go after us. I was watching a video on the new OPM chapter and 80-90% of comments weren’t even about the actual chapter but rather all about saying how the dragon ball verse or goku gets solo’d due to the new feat. Yes of course I think there are 2 sides of this but i think the issue stems from the part of the anime community that must attack another community no matter what.
Like for me while I’m a pretty big Goku fan. He is my favorite fictional character but i think I’m more on the normal side of the powerscaling community. I personally think dbs Goku scales from low complex multiversal to outversal and yes I know Xeno Goku and cc Goku scale even higher. Yes I do give my opinions but it is insane how fast someone who doesn’t like Goku or downplays him acts towards those who disagree. Another example was that a few weeks ago I disagreed with midnightdre’s (I personally think he is a terrible scaler because of his massive downplays and outright disrespect to anyone who disagrees with him) take on that Goku couldn’t solo bleach. I think he could but then he gets outright rude and tells me to sit down and shut up.
Yeah sorry about the multiple stories. I’m just using those examples as to where I think the problem lies when talking about vs and scaling

Yeah your favorites losing means nothing, my favorite Anime/Manga characters are Guts, and Kenshin (Samurai X). My boys get rolled by almost every relevant matchup out there. But they are still so dope in their own series, which is what I hope makes people like a character.
One of my absolute favorite Comic characters from one of my top 5 comics of all time, is Grant Mckay from Black science. Unless he gets like prep time for something, he is getting bodied by most relevant matchups. But his story is just so freaking cool it doesn't matter.

People forget compared to other verses in Dragonball, thier hacks and stamina is extremely terrible compared to thier large range attack capabilities , yes they jump from multi Continental to planetary to sun level to half solar system, multiple solar system, galaxy, multiple galaxy, universal plus to multiple universal in power and destruction range but people forget Sayians transformations don't last long ,it drains them , meanwhile mfs in comics in the highest tiers casually move at speeds surpassing time in or outside thier universe in travel or combat or can literally fight for days ,weeks , months or centuries with no brakes while having hella hacks, which both marval/ dcu have many different types of power systems hacks, its just hard to believe people dont understand based superman/based thor / silver surfer/ spawn /etc can out blitz , out hax , out stamina goku because they literally fight godly and beyond supernatural beings all the time, its like if u put goku against Naruto or Ichigo at the same power level, Ichigo and Naruto would out perform goku in stamina and hacks

I'm guilty as well but for me it's not an issue of Goku losing just how certain things are scaled just doesn't line up for me in general( but I don't care about one punch ). This was probably in response to Goku fans, but a lot of them try turning Superman into something he's not, which is like some infinitely powerful god, when he's just a very powerful man. I was arguing with some guy about how he scales DC and he decided to take a very decontextualized string of words that were in one of my responses as opportunity to bring up how the Cosmic Armor cheek-claps my favorite verse for literally no reason other than to be a dick. He really taunted me about it while also asking why I kept arguing with him, as if what he was saying wasn't meant to incite argument.
The Cosmic Armor isn't even anything like Superman, it's just using him as a vassal (that's the best way I can describe it). There's a component of said character in it, but it's not the character, I don't care what fanboys say. People who bring it up in Superman powerscaling jus to be an asshole should get bitch-slapped. Not to mention that some feats of regular Superman like the "infinite pages" feat had been massively taken out of context by fans. He failed to lift it. Goku fans also do that, but I've noticed that Superman fans do it more often. There's people who literally only scale Superman and DC to taunt Dragon Ball fans and the non-existent wave of them that only exist in their diluted heads.
Fanboys of every fictional work, like the guy I argued with, often do the powerscaling equivalent of gish gallop, which is easier to do the more content you have. They'll sometimes decontextualize or miscontextualize stuff within the story. Some people, despite not actually being knowledgeable of a character or their universe, will literally wake up one day and decide that they're gonna hype up and scale them as high as they can for no reason.

Liked the video a lot I agree with most if not all of it. I won't disagree in saying that a small minority, but noticeable part of the community is hyper focused on power scaling and or only focused on feats, how strong the other Z fighters, and mainly Goku are. Either going out of their way to say 'Goku solos,' or attacking and nearly assaulting anyone who disagrees with them. They are usually ignoring the near perfect writing and story in MOST of DB, ask many of those people from that part of the community to list of feats and you'd probably get a college essay saying why Goku is infinite layers into boundless, but when you ask them anything to do with Goku's character growth they're silent.

Newer people into verse debates take their character, losimg as a personal attack for example i have had gojo fans scream at me when i tell them X charcter wins same gose for many other fandoms comics anime movies you name it because power scaling and vs debates are now gaining more attention were in a era where pepole who never debated before are now going into these videoe or forms and trying to use there personal feeling over proper arguemeants im not sure if anyone else here has been dealing with this loud and emotion filled new comers to these formas but there making power scaling and vs debates look bad

Ill be real. This message DOES NOT JUST APPLY TO DRAGON BALL FANS. Every fandom, whether it's anime, comics, books, cartoons, movies, etc.. will have these ignorant/annoying fans and will die on their hill for supporting characters.
It is COMPLETELY RATIONAL to support your favourite characters, but you got to remember at the end of the day.. No matter what stance you have on them, they are fictional icons or works.
So if you are going to slander other people for having different beliefs on a completely fictional scenario, more than likely you are just wasting time.

I keep hearing this, but it entirely disregards the fact that DB fans have always been the loudest about it, and that just makes it more annoying. Every time you bring something up, its gotta be about dragon ball, its gotta be about toriyama, its gotta be about how DB is such a perfect show when its got as many flaws as any other animated series these days, arguably more because there's been little change to the formula and its gotten stale for most people.
Like if you have a discussion about Hirohiko Araki as an author, I guarantee at least someone will bring up Toyotaro or Toriyama regardless of how good their overall narrative flow actually is. You never see the inverse
As a matter of fact, Stan Lee has been a juggernaut in the comics industry, people never even bring him into the discussion with Marvel now despite all he's done for it, but then that one person- 💀
@@arkkon2740 I'm not disregarding any aspect of the fact some are louder than others. I'm merely going into detail that it really doesn't matter who you support, having Brutish or unyielding fans whether it's about real stuff or not is a true common.
Kpop stands and musical industries have the exact same problems when it comes down to fan bases, matter of fact look at any sort of industry that has competition. Pepsi vs Coca-Cola, sports, news hosting, politics, religion. Hell, I've even seen food industries fight over the dumbest things.
I really can go on, and on, but the key difference between all of this is the fact that some of these things don't matter. Anime and cartoons, while they may have impacting culture and admirable effort put into them, that's all they will ever be.
Let me put it in a metaphor;
If you decide to take your helmet off in space and scream louder than somebody else, neither them or you will be heard anyway. If you decide to be rational and leave your helmet on, you didn't waste your breath.
If people want to be die hard fans, let them. Because at the end of the day, it's fictional and pointless.

Ima be honest I don’t have a side in these debates. I go on what I read try to find out who is stronger based on the scaling I see in the manga/show. Like I currently think goku beats saitama. However new chapters are getting crazy in opm. However I wanna see more from voids abilities then just cutting rocks. But just cuz I think goku win in this debate don’t mean I think he solos everything. Like there is rimuru, Superman, the hulk, anti-spiral, and a bunch more that just have generally better scaling then goku and kick his shit in.

Seems like most Saitama fans just enjoy discussing how the characters' strengths and abilities might interact, while being aware it's all just fan fiction. Goku fans on the other hand tend to take it wayyy too personal and get physically angry when anyone even suggests someone being able to even match Goku. And then when they get called out they try to cop-out by saying it's all just jokes.
They need to realize that the Goku they've created in their minds is nothing like the actual character, he's not supposed to be the strongest and it's okay for him to lose or need help from allies. (EDIT: I think one reason why some Goku fans tend to have so much hatred for OPM is because Saitama is a better example of the type of character that they imagine Goku is)
