    Thanks so much for making this video. I was searching online for how to vacuum my above ground intex pool without a skimmer and couldn't find anything. This was spot on what I was looking for.

    We purchased a skimmer basket for our metal frame pool off of Amazon last year. It helps so much with the debris, and also catches the little gnats and ants that like to sink to the bottom of your pool. It hooks up/replaces debris guard. If you purchase one definitely get the pool skimmer socks that go with it. Great video!

    Great video. Very helpful. I was also told at my local pool service store that when vacuuming I should have the filter dial turned to the "waist" setting??? This way the debris from the bottom of your pool will not be put directly into your filter. It will travel through the waist hose and out onto the ground. Of course this removes water from your pool and you may need to add some water back after vacuuming. I am a newbie so if anyone would like to chime in on this topic it would be appreciated. Thanks!

      It is better for your pool to use waste when vacuuming so it doesn’t go through your sand. It would make the sand last longer pretty much

    Did you know if you get your water going in a Circle all the trash will go to the middle of your pool Easy Clean Up just walk around the edge just keep walking till you get a good current going and then just stop and let the current stop and you can vacuum from the middle all the trash goes to the middle!!!!!!!!😁 WORKS EVERY TIME!!!!!!

    0:48 Who ever told you it was unconventional is wrong. I have an above ground pool and when I got it in the box with the pump was a vacuum a hose and a hose to pump adapter. It was one of the kind that could either be hooked to the pump or hooked to a garden hose and filter into a bag. I replaced it with a $40 nice one because the cheap one kept floating up off the bottom of the pool (no spring/weight).

    • @mikaboo2521
      @mikaboo2521 Před rokem

      Mine came with it too. It was a cheap piece of junk. The bag would fall off and debris right back into the pool. Terrible! Especially after working for 20 minutes or more in the heat 😅

    This might be a silly question but how to keep the pump from shooting the algae back into the pool? So I left my pool half full over the winter and I’ve installed an infection sand filter pump and upgraded the hoses to 1 1/2 inch but while vacuuming for the first time today I noticed the murky algae water was shooting back through the jet nozzle. Im so new at this but is there something I’m missing?

    • @JuanGarcia-gi6me

    • @tavtelmedia
      @tavtelmedia Před 3 lety +2

      @@JuanGarcia-gi6me as crazy as this sounds, I put a magic eraser in the intake basket and in the skimmer. it's not instant but it will cut your time in half. Not a problem for the pool or humans at this point at all. You will have to change it regularly and your filter as well if it's not a sand filter. OR There is also a product called GREEN TO BLUE. You can get at Walmart. OR Shock it. When it all drops to the bottom, vacuum it but run out out of the pool. Rinse and repeat if necessary. Fill up the rest of your pool with clean water and add a chlorine tab to the filter basket or somewhere in the line along with a few boxes of backing soda. Run your filter 24/7 for a few days. Should be good to go in a few days.
