george sharp I’m in Florida and the intensive camp is for kids who are in high school because there are so many different responsibilities and challenges. not saying that your kid specifically can’t handle it but they won’t babysit your kid. The takedown camp is probably better suited for him, and dont think that just going to the camp is enough he/she should ideally be competing 4 times a month during off season but at least twice a month should be enough while keeping him from getting burnt out

What camp do recommend for a kid who only started wrestling his sophomore year but loves it and wants to improve to be the best he can be for his next two high school years? Obviously he doesn’t expect to be a state champ or anything. He is very physically fit, so a technical camp? Or maybe two camps?
I have a walk-of-shame story. It's from 1971. I didn't have much info back then; so I talked my dad into sending me to something called, "Russ Houk's Wrestling Camp" when I was 16. I didn't know the value of a dollar, so I didn't think the price was excessive. But it was like $1,200 for a week, by today's dollar. I learned nothing. It was a beautiful camp. We had a pool, the food was good, the cabins nice; but yeah... nothing. Wow.
Jeff is so technical. You learn state winning moves in the morning, drill them in the afternoon. And at night? 💥✋🤛 live and pummeling
