      They had a tremendous receiving core that year; Not just one guy. Rasheed Davis, Muhsin Muhammad, Bernard Berian and mark Bradley were all killing it. Not to mention Greg Olsen and Desmond Clark at tight end. It was ultimately Rex Grossman’s horrible inconsistency, lack of accuracy and boneheaded clumsiness that lost them the superbowl imo.

    Why is everybody commenting “you forget grossman actually showed flashes”. Like what? Isn’t that what he was famous for? Throwing for 400 yards one week and 6 picks the next? Good Rex/Bad Rex? I didn’t think it was commonly believed that Grossman flat out sucked, cuz he didnt

    • @TheLocalLt
      @TheLocalLt Před 4 lety +4

      Anony Moose while that’s true, grossman was known for sometimes having level headed games, that’s after all why he kept starting, if it was all “bad Rex” he would have been benched for Griese. But the upside of “good Rex” was very tantalizing. However I’ll concede that his decision making was still shit even in his good games.

Keep in mind that the league's top passer that year was Peyton Manning at 101.0, so a 100 passer rating in a game that year was still considered a good performance. Heading up to the Arizona game, he looked like a QB who could lead the Bears to a title seeing how good the defense, special teams, and running game were.

      Yea i love Alexanded but he was overrated. He ran hard with his legs but he didnt truck ppl. Theres a difference between bracing for a hit and giving one, and Alexander Unfortunately braced for hits, and if it werent for his great feet and thick legs he wouldnt be in the NFL. What made him good was his vision, footwork and speed thats it nothing more. Id rather take Marshawn over Alexander. Wish we could get a back that can be in the argument for best back in the league but nope. The way ive watched the Hawks is its usually a bunch of guys that have something to prove. Good thing we have some of the greatest of all time like Jones, Kennedy and Largent. Sad that i never got to watch Largent and Kennedy. Even now personally in my opinion the only thing holding Russ back is being the true leader of the offense like Manning and Brady. Call a damn audible Russ and quit being a pussy. Pete Carroll is the 2nd greatest Seahawks HC behind Holmgren. Holmgren did it with less in my opinion. If it werent for John Schneider Pete wouldnt have the success that he has had with us. Hes also lost us a couple games and a SB by trying to outsmart the opponent instead of playing smart football.

Marshawn and the rest of the back today work like hell without a descent OL. Lynch got a top 15 or 20 OL like once or twice. He put up good numbers and ran harder than Alexander. Shaun Alexander is so underrated.
    When we think of runningbacks from the 2000s we probably think of Tomlinson and Bettis first, but man, Alexander had some moves and he really helped keep Seattle relevant for a while. (It also doesn't help his case that he was replaced by Marshawn Lynch...)
