Imagine an Apple Watch, but with better battery life and with close to half the price tag. That’s what the Huawei Watch Fit 3 promises to be, and it’s also compatible with both Android and iOS. On paper, it seems to address many of the common complaints people have about the Apple Watch. But that's not why so many of you have been urging me to review it. The buzz is all about Huawei's claims of improved health and sports tracking. So today, we're diving into my initial tests of the Watch Fit 3. And I have to say, in terms of design, this is my favorite Huawei product in a while. I think the square shape is just so much nicer than the elongated shape that the previous Huawei Watch Fit watches and most Huawei bands tend to have. But enough about aesthetics and specifications. Let's jump straight into the testing and see how this smartwatch really performs.
I don’t have enough data to draw any definitive conclusions about the GPS tracking of the Huawei Watch Fit 3. However, at first glance it does look promising. Overall, the Watch Fit 3 seems like a solid device. For about 160 euros or dollars you get good quality heart rate tracking and what seems like decent GPS tracking. However, the sleep stage tracking is not very good, so I would only use it to track my total time in bed. Considering the price point and good battery life, it’s a solid choice, and it could be an Apple Watch alternative for those people on Android focussing on sports tracking, or even people on iOS that don’t like the limited battery life of the Apple Watch. I should note though that it might be difficult for people to get any Huawei device if you live in the USA, and it might take a while for it to be listed on Amazon. There is also one small thing that bugs me about the screen of the Watch Fit 3. This might be my slight OCD rearing its head, but every time I look at it, at least optically, the bezels on the top and bottom seem slightly bigger than those on the sides. This is a super small thing, and quite personal, but it does take away from some of the beauty of this device. All in all, I do like the watch fit 3, and I would have no problem recommending it to people that want a well-priced smartwatch with good heart rate tracking. Therefore, overall, I’d give it 3.5 out of 5 stars generally, and given the low price, I might bump it to 4 stars, with the caveat that the sleep stage tracking is not reliable enough. Now, of course the results I showed you might vary from person-to-person, so please also check some other reviewers. - Věda a technologie
OMG i was just randomly checking amazon yesterday and i saw there's a fit 3 and i was like "when's the video review" here it is
They are almost equal
Happy to help ;-)
@@TheQuantifiedScientist is there a spot in the video you showed what the sensor looks like? does it have 1 LED and 2 sensor like fit 2, or more than that? will fit 3 improve over time with updates?
@@TheQuantifiedScientist also thanks for an awesome video as always, you're my number 1 reliable source for accuracy and your thumbnails don't have clickbait on it, you just get to the point, that makes me wanna watch the video even more than those people who put a question in the thumbnail and don't answer the question and give you vague generalities about stuff you already know
finally. This is the most anticipated video. Thank you
True! This channel is my absolute go-to for scientific smartwatch testing
I would like to share that you can look at vacuum wars for review of cleaner. I hope the number of this kind of works increase.
saw an ad for this a few hours ago and decided to search up reviews and the smartwatch goat uploaded it
Your reviews are always so detailed and informative! It would be great if you could do a review on the Redmi Watch 4. I'm really curious to know how they compare to other models
Finally, this is the review I've been waiting for. Thank you
Hi Rob, I've just got my Fit 3 and I've compared it with the Fit 2 during some treadmill exercises. I've used the Fit 2 on my right hand and Fit 3 on left hand for the first 4 workout sessions and it turned that the Fit 2 was very very accurate. However, after switching them on hands and doing the same workout sessions, the Fit 3 was more precise than the Fit 2. I am right handed btw.
Example for test: set treadmill to 4km/h, count 500 steps, stop and see results. With fit 3 (right handed): 497 steps, max pace 15'08"; fit 2 (left handed) 475, max pace 13'53" (which would be like 4.3km/h, and the treadmill was at 4km/h during the entire workout, so the Fit 2 was not very accurate).
Well, when i switched bands, I've set the treadmill to 3km/h and counted 208 steps. Fit 3: max pace 18'31" (3km/h), 197 steps; Fit 2: max pace 18'31" (same as fit 3), 208 steps.
So, I conclude that Fit 2 would have some problems detecting pace depending on the hand you're using, while Fit 3 would detect the pace very accurate on either of your hands. Regarding step accuracy, they are the same, it reads very accurate on your main hand, and there's a 5% deviation on the other hand. I think that would also affect other workout results as well.
Thanks for sharing! Indeed, hands can make some difference (probably because of vasculature), very interesting!
Thank you so much for posting this, it was very useful information, if possible could you do some GPS tests?
Is the watch configured in app to be on either left or right?
This scientific approach review , data analysis is the kind of review we want deep down inside aside from the usual specs reviews. The Quantified Scientist you are definitely our hope❤
Glad you liked it!
Thank you !
will wait for the full review and hope you get better with that injury, we need a run test too ;)
THANK YOU BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
I recently bought this and I couldn’t be happier, great stats, great battery life, no need for any 3rd party apps, sends me notifications as I define including when connected to car play. My Series 9 watch is now back in the box ready to be sold. This is now my daily watch!
Best decision ever, I had an Apple Watch Series 7 and just couldn't stand having to charge it almost every day! The Huawei Fit 3 is beautiful, useful and gives you 7 - 10 days of battery life. I couldn't be happier.
This is not exaggerating right? I'm so happy for you
@@muhammadms4287 Personally for me, yes! I would not go back to AW at all.
What type of phone did u paired it to? Iphone or android?
Great to hear!
thank you so so so much for this!!! awesome content as usual! looking forward to more data on this device! and i hope you're recovering from your injury well.
Thanks!
I was actually waiting for it!! Thank you so much, as always the most reliable reviews...!!! 👏
I've been stalking this page til this review came out 😂 thank you!
Me too!
Me 3
Hope you like it!
Me 4
Just a suggestion if ever you do a full review on the Huawei Band 9 can you also do a re-evaluation on the Huawei Band 8. Compare how do they differ when it comes to tracking Spo2 and Heart Rate, which is more accurate and reliable. Since both devices received firmware update especially the Band 8 which received numerous updates.
Expected inspection is came. I can’t wait to watch. Thanks.
I was waiting for this review. Thanks 🎉
You’re welcome 😊
Thanks for yet another informative video!
Been waiting for this one. Thank Rob always informative
Thank you for considering our requests. Hope soon we will have a review with more data.
i was waiting for this video.. Nice! Great Job!
finally, been waiting for your review on this sir.
Another great review. Thanks for your time
was waiting for this one! watching right away! edit: damn, pretty disappointing results for sleep tracking, a pity :/
Thanks for the review!
Good job bro, I'm looking forward to this video
Great reviews! TY!
requesting updated indepth review for watch fit 2 and a long term/more data for watch fit 3!!!
Would love to see it too
Thank you so much for the insight…You are the BEST!!!
mine came today, absolutely loving it!
Thank you so much Rob!
I have a great Huawei Watch GT Runner, but I just bought the Huawei Watch Fit 3 and I love it. GT Runner and Watch Fit 3 do not always measure walking accurately. If I walk slowly around the room, it measures that I'm walking fast.
I have never clicked so fast on a YT video, been waiting for this.. still undecided between Redmi Watch 4 and HWF 3, now I'm convinced, thank you Quantified Scientist
What you choose?
Because of the battery life I would never ever buy Apple Watch. I kill Apple Watch battery in half a day. Meanwhile my Huawei Watch GT4 is very accurate and the battery lasts forever. I use GPS daily for running plus 5 times a week training with continuous HR tracking and display always on. The battery easily lasts me a week.
Yes, definitely me too.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Thank you, i dont regret upgrade from Honor GS Pro to Huawei Watch 3 for Sport. Before i buy this watch, i confuse to choose coros pace 3 or garmin fr 165, but with the low cost and accuracy HR and GPS it's make me happy. I dont care about sleep tracking because when i sleep, i dont use watch. Eventhough fit 2 is better but i still choose fit 3 because a look and harmony os4.
Thank you for the review!
Thank you so much for the review❤️
was gonna purchase this but the sleep tracking is lackluster! As always appreciate the in depth and scientific review. keep em coming
I was waiting for your review of this device. Btw, where did you buy it?
Thanks for the review)
Been waiting for this
Yesterday I was in vienna and coudnt stop looking around if I see you hoppin around with a piece of tech :)
Thank you very much for reviewing this product. Now I can make a decision. 👍
Wow your testing is really interesting. Was really surprised to see the Garmin devices so far down the list for heart rate accuracy compared to the Huawei and apple watches
Finally the review that we’re waiting for
Still really looking forward to your full review of Huawei Band 9. :) Thank you for your work!
Thanks for the work done, it's very valuable!т👍 I was really looking forward to this video review
BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!!! my order is OTW
Why? Sleep tracking sucks
@@snipershotsphotography7915 probably will get better with oncoming updates, I think it can be fixed with software updates. I bought it a week ago and sleep tracking seems fine.
@@snipershotsphotography7915 uh, well. I dont gives a shi about sleep tracking after all.,I love the familiar design and its good HR tracking. it's enough for me.
@@snipershotsphotography7915 I have an apple watch and the battery life is awful. It lasts 1-2 days n it feels like I have a second phone. Don’t get me wrong, my apple watch is amazing but it’s such a pain to constantly charge it. Personally, I think the fit 2 looks ugly but this one really caught my attention because it has a familiar design. It looks sleek and similar to the apple watch from a distance. So yeah.. I feel like this is a good alternative for me at half the price of an apple watch with BEAST BATERRY LIFE. I think its also worth it for the great heart tracking and GPS precision . Its enough for someone like me who does casual exercise like running n hiking. So yeah.. that’s my 'why.'
I just don’t get why sleep tracking can be a deal breaker. I really don’t. at leastt to me. if terrible GPS and heart rate tracking, then that would be a total deal breaker for a smartwatch.
@@snipershotsphotography7915 Well, the only problem is the sleep of course but comparing it with the other features it has considering the low price we can say that its about 80% worth it
wow thanks for your work ! How is the accuracy of the watch for running plz ?
tq so much rob for this video
Welcome!
After Honor band 6 and after watching this channel got myself Huawei Watch Fit 2. For me HR is more important than other things, and it's on the budget side. Fit 3 is good-looking but think I'll go with fit 2 for now.... Great video as always! Thank you!
Thank you so much for detailed explanation. I believe that this reviews are not beneficial for only consumer but also they are playing a very important role in saving the environment. I hope the number of this kind of reviews increase. Thank you again.
finally, I'm waiting for your review!
Thank you so much for your work, do you plan to review the Ultrahuman ring?
Thank you for your work! I am always waiting for your review before buying. How often do you check previously received data? Is it possible that the results have changed with the latest updates?
that is what i actually concerned....it might change from firmware updates
For any type of optimal heart rate monitor. It depends that where your veins pass on your wrist, or your arm.
Hey Rob i'm from Italy and i love your videos. For you when will be released Oura Ring 4?
You are the best one
Always looking for your reviews before making a purchase decision or recommending any wearable device to my friends and colleagues. I want to ask you about the position of this watch in comparison to Watch GT2 and GT3? Which is better in terms of overall performance and accuracy? Also, why did you stop testing the Pulse Oximeter comparison? I can't find this part of Blood O2 saturation in your recent videos. Thanks a lot for your efforts and detailed reviews.
Amazing review 👏
Glad you liked it
Hi! I'm a big fan of your reviews. Do you think there's any chance of reviewing the Withings ScanWatch 2? There are several video son the first model, with sub-par conclusions, but I'm hoping that the new one proves better. I trust your method, it would be great to see something from you.
Thanks as always!
Thanks for the video
You bet
Thanks for your constant videos. I always come here when I want to buy a new watch. Always depend on your vids. So far, and referring only to data, not looks, the Fitbit charge 6 might be the best for Android users. I bought the Fitbit charge 5 thanks to one of your vids. I truly want to know the performance of the Casio G-Shock watches though. I wonder if they offer sleep tracking besides the heart rate tracking though in order for you to make a video out of it.
Another awesome vídeo, thank you, bro! Could you do a video about xiaomi band 8 Pro, really wanna know its results in comparison with The others
great video, thanks a lot I appreciate
Finally the video we need
Please do more Xiaomi devices. In my country (Brazil) Fitbit, whoop or Google are not accessible, so we end up using mostly Xiaomi and Xiaomi owned brands such as Redmi, Amazfit and Haylou.
Thank you for such a high quality content!
Hi thanks for this amazing work. What firmware is the watch fit 3 running for this data you have shown?
Nice review. Will you be able to do a review, for the HUAWEI WATCH 4 Pro Space Edition? Thanks.
Hello, Rob. Thanks and give us Huawei band 9 sleep test, please.
Nice review!!! I was wondering about the Amazfit Active, can you do a review of it?
Really appealing the gt runner is too big and I only use it when running. This looks sleek and wearable for daily use
Thanx so much for your extensive testing! Could you please test the Huawei Watch D - the only smart watch so far with a real blood pressure sensor?
At last! I’m still contemplating whether I upgrade my watch fit 2 to this. I guess not… excellent review good sir.
in the same boat, slightly worse HR tracking, still rubbish sleep tracking, might still get it though, bigger screen, so for those of us with duff eyes it's an improvement
@@tedtedtedtedted ill still get. because i love the design than fit 2, very stylish
Sold my fit.2 for the fit 3. No regrets. It's very close, remember that Robb can only test for himself, so maybe the watch can be even more accurate for your skin type.
@@HaedricTV watch fit 3 is still superior compare to fit 2 in terms of design and UI, you made the right choice pal. I would’ve done what you did if I could
Thanks for watching! It's difficult to say if it is significantly worse at this point. However, we can see the HR tracking appears to be pretty good on both the Fit 3 and Fit 2
Great video. What about HRV measurements wirh this watch??
Great job
Hey Rob, i recently discovered you and love your videos. As a purely weight lifting person, i would love to see best device comparison for weight lifting specifically including recovery times and such.
Thank you so much. It is great.
Glad you like it!
I bought the Watch Fit 2 about 6 months or so ago after watching a bunch of different reviews, and from heart-rate tracking perspective, through-out the day, it does absolutely amazing. It is a pretty good tracker, with a few smartwatch-esque features, like having the ability to take a call on the watch, able to see notifications, play songs from the watch, etc.
Can you make normal calls and answer whatsapp calls?
@@yinyun471 Can take calls and make calls, absolutely.
@@yinyun471You can make Bluetooth calls and receive Bluetooth calls, including w-app calls (receive that is).
@@yinyun471You can call your given few contacts, answer calls. No whatsapp calls, no.
I love my Watch Fit 2. Amazing features for the price (99€)!
The test is what matters to these watches for health reasons, accuracy is really important, thanks for making this review, been waiting for it
I was about to buy it, I guess I'll stick to fit 2 for a while more, maybe you gather more info about weight lifting, thanks for the review Rob!
Thinking Abt getting the Pixel watch 2, this watch also looks interesting. Wich one would you recommend?
Do more test for watch fit 2, why is it so better and accurate
You are the best ...buddy🎉
thank u for your detailed review, it helped me a lot and decide to switch to huawei fit 3 from samsung watch 5, I just placed my preordrr.
I couldn't buy the watch until I see your review
Honesty your reviews are accurate and helpful to find the watch
Thank you
I've been waiting for this review since the product came out! I'm still saving myself for the Apple Watch 10, which was introduced in September :)
Finally! Amazing video, thank you!
great video, which fitness fitness tracker (espcially heart rate accuracy & sleep tracking) would be the best bang for buck in the ~150€ range, this huawei watch fit 3, fitbit charge 6 or any other model i might not be aware of ? Thanks.
Thank you very much
Nice Video again, how about the ringconn as a oura competitor without a subscription Up next?
Finally! Danke
Hi Rob, I'm looking for a replacement for my xiaomi mi watch. Can you suggest what I should buy? Steps and sleep tracking are what I'm aiming for since I like working out. Thank you
can the Sleep Tracker be updated with a Firmware of Software update of the Device? Other reviewers also said the Sleep Tracker is a miss for HWF 3
Could you please do a review of the performance of an Apple watch using third party apps such as athlytic?
It would be interesting to see if this would be able to solve the actionable health insights issues discussed by you previously. At the same time such apps offer much more affordable subscriptions than whoop or oura. Hence, it might be a one for all contender. Would be amazing to get your assessment! And thank you for your the amazing and well research content!
Hello! Can you measure how accurate your SpO2 is with Watch Fit 3? I have the Watch Fit 3 and I thought the measurements were as accurate as the Fit 2, but the Fit 2 gave the heart rate measurement 5 stars. It's very kind of you to help people! Thank you very much for the video!
I have a Huawei Watch 3 Fit. What is the name of the appropriate exercise in the watch when I go to the gym and perform exercises such as squats, cable exercises for triceps and biceps, deadlift exercises, and the rest of the exercises in the gym?
what does the heart tracker sensor look like? is it more than 1 led and 2 sensor like the fit 2? will the fit 3 get more accurate with updates?
I have it. Question. Did you leve harte rate on auto or all the time on app? Is it make difference? what is better?
Could you do a quick post, even a comment here on your Forerunner 265 findings compared to the two others? And also, why would the results between the x65 line be different when it’s supposedly the same sensors being put to use?
Cheers fam.
Did you update the watch before this review?🤔
