Back when I did screen printing and embroidery. We would save all the thread clippings and set them out side in the yard and the birds would use it in their nest building
you have so much yarn omg haha I'm so jealous
too much 😅
I loved the part where you trimmed the edges of the black squares before hand. Never seen it before. Could you in your next video show some ways how to get texts and things like that more crisp?
What if you did a biweekly "finish that thing" episode? It would be a great way to keep your projects from piling up. I'm a procraftinater so I know what you mean I have like 7 projects I havent started/finished and I have been planning my "leftovers" to be completed every other week I'm currently down to 4 unfinished projects!!
I’ve seen on zero waste groups people re-spinning yarn scraps into new wool! It’s super cool! You brush the fingers abate then spin them back together on a wheel or other method 🧶 would make a crazy cool rug or blanket!
Neat and tidy work can’t wait to see the finished result
love your videos! you inspired me to start making rugs💗 thank you
If you have scraps of wool you can felt with it, make hats/pins/keychains etc. all you need is soap and patience
So glad I subscribed and so glad you gave us another video ✨💕
Excited to see the process. Eventually I want to make huge wall pieces so it’s cool to be able to see someone at your level take on such an ambitious piece
loved the vlog!!!!
I appreciate your videos so much! They're so helpful (:
Love your videos and your designs! Super talented!! Keep it up!
thank you!!
I envy you so much🤗🤗🤗
Can't wait to have my own machine, meanwhile I'll keep following you.
Thanks for Sharing your experience with us🥰
I love the tips thanks for sharing💜
love the vids ! makes me want to get into tufting
You have a very nice vibe. I always come back to your videos for tufting problems or guidance
thank you! I'm glad it's helpful 😊
I just bought my tufting gun last week, I’ve been on a binge of your videos and others to learn!
Where did you get yours from??
Great Job Aj! Just started creating rugs as well! Your tips really helped!
I'm so glad!
Would love to see how you finish the edges of the rugs. I have a sheep shearer and I'm how to tidy up the edges on my rugs. Love your videos :)
"This is just basic trash" lol -love your videos! Very informative!!
I started making rugs thanks to your videos! I’m saving up to buy a machine.
yay! so glad to hear that :)
hello! how do you recommend cleaning/washing the rugs? c:
"i can stuff my stuff in here"
*i felt that*
also im new to tufting and i just found ur channel and i. love. it.
Me with literally every cupboard or drawer in my home 😅
@@AJMAKES137 omg HI!!!!!! i love your video :D
It might be worth getting a shop vac and customise a smaller hose then fix to the trimmer.
Hello ! how long did it take you for creating this ? thank you
hey aj! i started tufting about a month ago.. (your vids greatly inspired!) im having a problem w my gun ripping into my tufting fabric.. any recommendations/tips on how to prevent this? would love to see a video from you on troubleshooting the rug process! :-)
DM me on instagram and I'll try to help you out!
Yes when ever you'd like my love
Yes to the mask!!! Those fibers get everywhere and I don’t see enough tufters wear masks when tufting
I think its super important!
Where did you order your yarn from
Where did you get your yarn! Also, great work 💜

How can I get the best tuftinggu
Hey, I am really looking for a lockdown hobby but I am a bit of unsure about the cost as a newbie. I understood the pistol but what about the yarn needed for let’s say a 1.50m x 1.50m or 1m x 1m rug? Do you answer this in one of your videos? Thanks a lot from someone who doesn’t really have a clue about all of this but stumbled across your channel :)
Hello! I talked about this a bit here czcams.com/video/bmqXxOta0w4/video.html
It's tough to quantify. And it all depends on what yarn you're using. I'm going to share how much yarn it takes for me to make this large piece when I'm all done with it :)
Nice
I love gifting
I'm also carpet tufter
Is there such a thing as tufting lines too close? Does it affect gluing or anything like that?
Yes actually, too much density of the yarn can make it difficult to tuft in that area. But as long as your gun can easily move through the fabric while you’re tufting, you’re good! It wouldn’t affect glueing at all.
Hey, Can I place an order i need a custom rug for my room?
looks super good! I'm just super jealous how everyones back seems to be super neat and mine is super messy and long sometimes. I dont get it!!!
Not all of my rug backs look this clean 😅 this one's easy cuz I can use vertical lines with ease. My more detailed pieces look wild on the back hahah No one can tell from the front, anyway 😊 but also, your lines will get cleaner with time!
How much did it cost to make that rug
Love the video? How much do u pay for ur cloth?
$70 for 2 yards (x157") from tuftinggun.com
I've never heard of anyone using two strands of yarn through their gun at once. Why do you do this'? Does it save time by filling a bigger area at once? I'd love to cut down on time, but I don't want to waste any yarn.
I’ve seen multiple people use 2-3 strands at a time. I did it for one of my projects and it makes it look fuller.
The yarn I use is pretty thin, so two strands is perfect for me. Think of it like the thicker the yarn (whether you're using one, two, or three strands), the greater the yarn density on the rug. Three strands, from my experience, is a bit too much, but two is just right. But it all depends on the ply of your yarn. It's something you can experiment with :)
caught your wave tattoo...are you an Aquarius by any chance? I am, and mentioned to a friend that I started tufting. she replied "you Aquarians and your tufting!" apparently I was one of like 4 water bearers she knows that have taken up the craft lol.
Lol so interesting! I'm not an Aquarius, but I am an air sign~~gemini w/ cancer rising
how does one take wash/take care of a hand tufted rug?
I vacuum and spot treat. A carpet/upholstery cleaner can be used on some rugs too, but will likely shred up acrylic yarn. I’m going to make a video on this soon!
@@AJMAKES137 thanks a lot
You taking orders ?
Not currently, thanks for the interest tho :)
Does anybody know where to get such a big frame?
I think she mentioned before she had it made!
These frames can be built with wood from Home Depot or any lumber supply. The most important part are the carpet tack strips which are what will hold your backing cloth on the frame. Make sure when building one you make it bigger than you want the final piece to be since you can’t tuft all the way to the edge.
She traded some artwork to have it made by another artist, you’d likely have to make one yourself
Or have it made for you**
Soooooo it’s because of you they always sell out of yarn hahahahaha 😔
great stuff!
hahah my bad!
