    I got 213,680 miles on my 95 2wd pathfinder. Vg30E, ready for boost.. Junkyard parts. Only want 6 pounds. Perfect for what I'm doing. Stumbled on the channel and I enjoyed it. Keep up the grind and the updates! Yknotauto on IG I'm doc🤘

      Glad you like the channel.
      How are you planning on tunning it? 6 psi isn't that much, 12 is when you really feel the difference

      @@RedsProjects I was going to ask the same thing.. were you just using the nitrous fogger? Have you found any tuning solution? Nistune is based is AUS but I don’t think any of their boards are comparable with the ecu in the Navarro/d21

      @@samwashere1392 yeah ages ago i ditched the fogger and went with nistune. Its like ep12 onwards

    Nice, I'm just about to reassemble my vg33e to replace a blown vg30e. Doing basically the same stuff you are (hone, new rings, pistons, bearings, etc.)

    • @RedsProjects
      @RedsProjects  Před 3 lety

      Cool, ive been lazy building mine, been spending money on other projects.
      How did you blow up your vg30?

    • @Maxdamilli0n
      @Maxdamilli0n Před 3 lety

      @@RedsProjects nice! I try to work on mine a little every day, but almost never have more than 30 minutes or so to spend on it. I've got little kids that make sure I don't work on it very long 🤣 I have an endurance racecar, 1988 200sx s12. The engine was old, over 240,000 miles. It lasted 6.5 hours into the race and spun a rod bearing. Turns out there was only 2 quarts of oil left in it, so the oil consumption was much worse than I realized. So now I'm rebuilding a vg33e out of a truck. Also making a bigger oil pan and wiring up an oil pressure warning light to shine brightly in the drivers face. So hopefully we don't have that problem again 😂

    • @RedsProjects
      @RedsProjects  Před 3 lety

      @@Maxdamilli0n sounds like fun, they have a small oil pan so i wouldnt take much loss to run low

    • @Maxdamilli0n
      @Maxdamilli0n Před 3 lety

      @@RedsProjects that's true, only around 4 quarts. My guess is that it won't be hard to improve on that.

      @RedsProjects  Před 3 lety

      @@Maxdamilli0n yeah shouldn't be too hard to enlarge the capacity a little

      Im not sure yet, i was hoping to run a mls but they seem to be hard to find. If i cant find a mls ill just use a parts store hg

    Nice video.
    I just picked up a Nissan Caravan Royal ‘96 (JDM) which houses the same motor. I’m looking for motor oil and filter recommendations for the VG30e, if anyone can offer any recommendations?

      I got a 85 z31 with 190000 I just using a high mileage one from Oreileys works just fine. Oil i like to run synthetic high mileage and viscosity is based on weather:
      10W-30, 10W-40 (Above -18) -
      20W-40, 20W-50 (Above 10)
      5W-30 (Below 16)

      Reds Projects cheers dude I’ve figured it out! Yes the crank pulley end is slightly wider than the middle ones! I’ve changed them all with the rods and pistons in situ which was quite tricky to get the end caps off. It spins by hand lovely and smooth 👍🏻 Engine back i. Next week 🤞
