Great video and really informative so thank you. I have the old C965 which seems faulty. Showing a flashing motor and empty battery icon only. It's on a trike running a 36V battery. The trike and BBS01 runs fine but of course I have to information during rides. In your experience does it look like the 965 is down and should I replace the unit with the 500C as in your video? Looks like you got a good one, I have a brand new one with a new kit and when the battery is fully charged it's only showing 67% and seems to be a common issue with this display and no solution.
I have the same issue but I think it has to do with the battery not the display but I could be wrong. My battery is 48v and the display reads up to 52v, which is why it doesn’t reach all the way up. His voltage is above 52

Thanks, in terms of the programming I heard the 500c has less PAS levels than the DPC18 display, do you know if we're able to program the 500c using the same software?
You didnt show in the options if there is a 52v option to select?
Unfortunately my free sky swift horse is a male plug from controller, Impossible to find an adapter (you would think it would be a relatively simple item.) I purchased a short extension cord male to male hopefully. It'll work if not it'll have to go back but I really love the compact design of I'll be able to use my "buddy rider" with my dog. And see the screen while riding

I love my 500C. I cant find the drivers necessary to use config tool/cable. I download the software but when I go to update drivers I have none to update. I even did a windows update. Any suggetions?

If you would reprogram the settings with the usb cable and a Windows computer, would that show a speed limit of 99kph ? I've seen many video of people reprogramming the settings and the max speed is set at 40kph.

1) If you use the programming cable and PC to set 9 PAS levels, could you set the display to only use 5 and the rider does not have access to 6 through 9? Assume the rider does not know how to get into display settings on the display.
2) Can you set the max speed for EACH PAS or is it a global setting for all levels? Thanks in advance.

In case anyone comes to view this comment for an answer, i've heard if you set only 5 levels it will use levels (1.3.5.7.9) on your programming app and if you set 3 it will be (1.5.9)

So the 500 c speed limit can be set to 99 kph ? While the C916 can only be set to 50 kph or 32 mph ? So if I had the 500 C I would gain more speed vs the C916 ?
May only nagative about the 500c is that the cable is too short when compared to the brake and hand throttle cables. This creates excess cable at the handlebar that has to be managed

Press the + and - buttons at the same time to clear.
Where is the link to unlock controller to allow power at PAS setting 0 that you mentioned?
You have to do it on a windows PC through the programing cable
The 500 c is a way better set up than the cell phone style
I like side mounted displays, I had the SW102 but it was terrible quality, I'm going to order a bafang with this display

Imperial gives MPH.

Can you reset the lifetime mileage on this? I am buying a used e-bike that says 85 miles on the odometer on home screen, it seems too good to be true. Is there a way the seller could've reset that to ZERO?

My one is attached to earth ebike and I've tried all passwords I can find to unlock advanced settings. But no luck yet it's quite frustrating cause the bike pulls back when it reaches 25km/h
I'm considering buying an Earth ebike and i'm trying to figure out the same thing. I contacted earth directly but its been 2 weeks no reply... my next contact will be the dealer hopefully they know the codes. frustrating haha
Is there any resistance from the motor on peddle assist 0?
if it's direct drive, yes. If hub motor - no.
On a BBS02, there is a small bit of resistance, but nothing significant. If you have a dead battery or select PAS 0 the bike will still be a bike, just a very heavy bike. I'll go pedal assist 0 when riding on congested paths, no problems.
I use my bike with pedal assist disabled, and throttle for any boost i need.
It's very minimal resistance as the other people here mention. You shouldn't really notice anythibg

The 500C only controls the voltage to the light, which is connected via 2 mini spade connecters in the wiring harness from the motor

Sounds like you need to set the wheel size to suit your bike on the display.

These are brilliant indoors where all reviews take place.. but When you take the display in the full sun, you can't see them. They are not IPS TFT "sunlight readable".. Make sure when you purchase a display, you can get a full refund if you have to find a shade tree or pull your ebike inside to see the display.. BTW: Ebikes are meant to be ridden outside in the sun.. IPS displays have been around for years.. Why doesn't the ebike industry offer them.
Wish they made one you can remove.

Just got a 52V BBSHD kit and this display shows 70% when the battery is fully charged and 0% when the battery is still more than half full. Rubbish.
