I must have watched The Passion of the Christ ( not kidding) over 1000+ times, Probably more. Especially during Lent and I use the photos for meditation when I pray my sorrowful mysteries. Thank you Mel Gibson for this masterpiece!
In catholic households ( not sure about america) we watch this movie for every easter before mass almost like a tradition so that we can have that real feeling of easter.

I read anne Catherine emmerichs dolorous passion, way back in the early 1980’s… and remembering thinking, what if someone could make a movie,using her descriptions of our lords passion.. what a hit that would be…. And little did i know while enjoying the mad max movie at that time.. that mel Gibson would be the guy 👍👍🏴🇮🇪🇮🇩🇮🇱🙏

Oddly, there’s been no coverage of the films 20th anniversary in Catholic media except for here! I don’t understand why.
This was the last movie I watched with my mom before she died. She was nearly blind was still able to see it with her magnifying glass in the movie theater. Now my son (17) is the first to remember we have to watch it every Easter.
I’m amazed there hasn’t been a 4K blu-ray release of the film. Hope this anniversary prompts that!

The best movie ever❤, when that movie came out to theathers ,even Protestants got dusted off. I remember some pastors who died on their seats of heart attacks, during and after seeing this Movie, how could ve not this been like that when Mel had been setting it all out to God s glory from his Heart, Jim being a devoted Catholic aged 33, and both giving it all out to God's Glory having a latin mass and the Holly Sacrament exposed during the movie, this movie defintly is the mile stone and will always be of all till the end of the world, it reminds me of the ten comandments even though Cecile b demile was a hollywood director maybe not a christian but he did as his second moses movie the best of all even getting heart attacks, brought a monster of bliblical master piece to life, loaded buttally awful lot with effect unseen and yet not unleashed for the time. You wanna live up the Holly week indeed besides going to church , watch the ten comandments 1956, and the Passion of the Christ. ❤❤❤
Dead languages make this film absolutely authentic, I've watched it as a grown man and it made me cry, I'm not religious but this film is a masterpiece, if you haven't seen the film, make sure you do 👍🏻
