MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS
Never expected a Christmas episode, literally teared up, brother. My wife, kids and I get on facetime and watch the episode together every Monday. Wishing you and yours the merriest Christmas!!!🎄🎁
@@ModernInka You just made my Christmas with this comment brotha! Have a Merry time together!
Omg thank you for responding you are my favorite CZcamsr!!! 🩷
Hey was wondering is if my. Tank is well stocked I have a 20 gallon planted tank and I have 6 guppies 4 neons and 3 Cory doras I also have like 10 shrimp was just wondering because pet co does not have too much info for me if you respond then thanks! Just trying to know
i dont own any fish, I just like the videos 😅
We all got here somehow! And once we're hooked, there's no going back to a life without Chirs~
And FISH 👏 TANK 👏 REVIEW 👏!
Next year I am gonna get a betta fish I do all the Research before I buy it so that's just if you ever wanna buy an aquarium 😁
One day MD popped up in my feed and I started watching him with no plan on ever getting an aquarium. I currently have four. 🤦♀️
I love that! 😅@@KhaeLikesCoffee
@@KhaeLikesCoffee *me eyeballing the three tanks that have popped up in my home within the last 3 months* 😂😂🤦🏽what’s happened to us lmao
I was just in PetSmart and a lady walked in and asked the worker for 12 goldfish for her 10 gallon tank and was confused on why a fish that gets 12 inches long couldn’t go in a 20 inch long tank
I really hope they said no and explained why.
I adore seeing this sponsor both because it supports the channel and educates people on important subjects. Fear of letting out invasive plants is why I have a little box that I dry out my plants in before putting them in the compost (just in case)
This is my favorite sponsor by far! Aside from my wallet, I do love my wallet, but this sponsor isjust too wholesome!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
@@FishForThought Curiousity. are you familiar with AI voiced videos? videos made with ai generated voices programmed to sound like actual people or fictional characers? You being fish keeper, I'd like to see you react to ' US Presidents make an Aquarium Tier List'
Thank you for posting today for us with no family but our fish and reptiles.
Don't forget you have us random Internet fish and reptile nerds too! Hope you have an awesome day! ✌️
And those of us stuck in a shitty country and not allowed to travel back to our wife and kids. The bettas and gecko I keep have and the phone calls with my family have really been the only thing getting me thru the last few years. Wishing everyone a gentle holiday season, I know they can’t all be “happy” but atleast gentle!!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Fish and reptiles totally count. Merry Christmas. ❤️
Hi Chirs, Olivenknilch here! Thanks so much for reviewing my tank :) The Echinodorus in the back is suuuuper huge by now and the trees' branches are almost fully covered in moss 🌿 Thinking of adding a Cory Gang - I've got a small coconut house along with the fish and shrimp I rescued and I think some small cory species might find it really comfy ❤️
Pretty sure that "water grass mud" is just a terrible back and forth translation of aqua soil lol. Don't worry because at first it confused me seeing it on listings online too lol. Also, the irony of CZcams putting a Petsmart ad right after your video is absolutely hilarious. 😂
My local mom & pop fish store keeps their for sale plants in the tanks with the fish they're appropriate for and have their fish in appropriate community settings with other species they can safely live with. ❤
*They do not sell bettas due to not having room for so many 5-gallon tanks.
This worn out mama sent her kids to build their Christmas lego in their rooms to get a break after the Christmas morning chaos. What a break it was to discover a new FTR!
Thanks for the inspiration, education and the attitude. Love it all!!
QOTW: I'd stock a 20 gallon tank with some shrimp and a small shoal of danios and many plants. I love the look and the benefits of planted tanks. The balance of "tiny and scurrying" with "long and zooming" would be a fun tank.
I'm newish to the hobby and I'm loving how much I'm learning.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Kids are a blessing but it must feel so good to get a bit of a break too, have a wonderful season :)
@@FishForThought Kids are great, but Christmas morning excitement can be a lot for me.
They also got fishtanks for Christmas. My youngest's fish tank has begun cycling. My oldest child's tank is an upgrade, so it'll be a full day project to set-up and transfer his fish, plants etc.
Lil late catching up on episodes, but finally seeing this - thank you so much for the feature of my tank (TinyyPebble), it truly made my day as a long-time fan who's been on the discord for a few months! A great and inspiring community to be a part of 🥰
Reading your comment just before your tank came up in the vid. Lol.
I have a slightly over stocked 20 long with tons of plants, a sorority of thirteen, five SAEs, and five panda corys. The corys and SAE will be moving to the community tank once they're a bit bigger.
Merry Christmas my guy!
QOTW: Depends on the type of 20 gallon. For a normal one I'd just put some community fish in it like White Clouds or Platys. As for a 20 L I'd put a pair of Hillstreams and Danios. For a 20 tall, S H R I M P
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
I would stock a 20 gallon as a strong current river biotope. Have some sand and round rocks, and add some reticulated hillstream loaches and danios to it.
Thanks for this FTR gift Chris. Wishing all who may see this a very spicy holiday, whichever flavor you choose to celebrate. And if you don't partake, a relaxing and refreshing day. ✌️
QotW; I would prob stock a 20g with a group of green Kubotai Rasbora or Strawberry Rasbora, they've been on my bucket list forever, a bunch of pygmy Corydoras and some Neocaridina shrimp of a nice contrasting color. Although I think you could sub in any group of rasbora and you'd still have the possibility of a nice set up where you might get fry too since it's a 2 species + shrimp almost colony breeding set up. I have a similar Celestial Pearl Danio + snowball Neocaridina 10g and got about 20 fry from 6 initial CPD juveniles last year, just letting nature do it's thing.
Merry Christmas!
Love those rasboras!
@@FishForThoughthi chirs I love all your vids I have 2 large fully planted tanks with corydoras weather loaches and 2 faintails. and in my other tank I have 3 long fin bristle nose plecos males and female and 1 dwarf snowball pleco I love 💕 my animals I also have a cat named Luna. I have learnt a lot from watching your vids. Love 💖 from London uk and merry Christmas 🎄 and happy new year 🥳👼🎅🏼❄️💌🎁☃️🎉🎊💖💕🐠🐟🐡🦐🦞🦀🐌🎍🌳💖👍🏻
I have two 20 gallon tanks, a tall and a long. My 20 gallon tall has Apistogramas, a couple different Tetras, and Kuhli Loaches, and the 20 long has Multi shell dwellers. 😊 Love your videos by the way!
Merry Christmas Chris and fans!
🐠🎁❤
Merry Christmas to you too
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
QOTW) Honestly, If I had to stock a 20-gallon tank, I'd achieve one of my longtime desires. I've always wanted a shrimp only tank (I'd probably do amano shrimp and possibly some cherry shrimp), with the wood covered in moss and epiphytes, ohko stone, stem plants galore, and a carpet.
I stocked my 20 gallon aquarium with a betta and 6 kuhli loaches. And I like it the way it is.
QOTW: I have a 20 gal so here is my stocking
6 banded kuhli loaches
6 guppies
2 Cory cats
1 otocinclus ( his pal had an fungal infection and sadly passed)
1 female candy koi beta fish ( super peaceful and never had any issues )
My actual 20 gallon is stocked with two sparkling gouramis, four julii corydoras, a clown pleco, a nerite snail, some ramshorns, and a bunch of plants of course :) love your content!
awesome sauce
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Merry Christmas 🎄
I really appreciate it, Merry Christmas to you too!
If I had a 20 gallon aquarium, especially if it was long, I’d stock it with neon/cardinal/etc. tetras. I’ve always wanted to have them but I’ve only had one 10 gallon so far, so a 20 gallon would give me the space to have a nice little school & space to try out even more plants.
I am joining tank ganngggg. After a lot of planning, and tests and buying supplies, I now have a 5 gallon tank with 8 beautiful shrimp! I'm trying to name them but I'm still having a hard time distinguishing F and M.
AotW: My newest tank is closer to 24gal, currently stocked with 8 Kuhli loaches, 6 dwarf corys, amano and crystal red shrimp as well as a couple assassin snails. Gonna add a group of either chili rasboras or leopard danios and that's it.
Omg I love kuhli loaches I'm desperate to get some for my 350 litre tank
@@dinoduckling2662 I love my noodle gang so much, they're adorable and so, so much fun to watch. I'd recommend sandy substrate and parts with dense vegetation on the ground (crypts are great), so you can watch them wiggle around and dig.
@@exotherm42 it's the mother I have to convince it's her tank and for some reason shes really not interested in getting some. Even though shes was begging me to have one of my dwarf loaches 😅
I have a 20 high with a dwarf gourami, 8 ember tetras, 3 salt and pepper cories, and an amano shrimp. For plants, there are crypts, anubias nana, elodea, and guppy grass.
Thank you for replying ❤❤❤❤
thank you for the kind donation!
Thanks for posting on Christmas ❤
aw thank you so much!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
I love that your response to asking questions is basically "but you're already on the internet! the answer is probably already on there"
At 9:55 if you're still wondering its a twig catfish and probably my favourite freshwater fish i never had.
Qotw: a school of 20-25 chili rasboras as a species only tank or a bristle nose pleco with some rummynose tetras and maybe some type of snail
nice nice!
I’m so glad I got a fish tank review for Christmas
yaaaa!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
TYSVM for the Christmas vid, Chris!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Coincidence that this week's QOTW is about stocking a 20-gallon!
I have a cycling 20g long, but I'm unsure what to stock it with. I see a lot of ideas in the comments though, so thanks for that! :)
All these absolutely beatifull scapes with overstocked fish is really funny to me, like you really showed that keeping the fish well is an entirely different hobby😊
Happy holidays Chris and everyone else on this rotating rock we call home!❤
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
You just sent me down an existential crisis thinking about this ball we're all on hurling through space, but I tend to get real existential real easily xD
Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you. Thank you for keeping me in formed and giving me a lot of laughter , you get better every year .😅
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Glad to hear I'm aging right xD
Merry Christmas! I am so excited to watch this today. What a gift!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
My Monday didn’t start off just right because I woke up to my power head coming loose and blowing away the sand and letting first loose all throughout my walstad!
oh nooooo
we will rebuild!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Yeah no fish yet. It’s already looking better@@FishForThought
Years ago my son had one goldfish which lived a number of years, I found the tank the other day. Not sure what to do with it. But that gold fish was 7 cm long, I am glad we just had one
The perfect start to my morning I love ftr I’m starting my own new fish tank with some live plants it’s going to be my first aqua scape with a lucky betta and it’s a 5 gallon with some hard scape too
awesome awesome!
Merry Christmas! I stocked my 20 gallon with neolamprologus multifasciatus, which quickly populated themselves into a 55 gallon long at a friend's house.
20 gal high: 12 Whiteclouds
2 honey Guarami
8 dwarf chain loaches
Valisnaria, dwarf sage, wood, rock
bro this Monday FTR made my Christmas amazing cuz of that Monday Chris criticism. keep up the great work
Th strange suck fish is a twig catfish (farlowella of some sort). They are adorable, and I love watching mine swim around. Starlight is a delight
My white angelfish just died right now it was crushed by a stone because one of the visitors did something
I am very early! I’m giving my betta fish a tank upgrade for Christmas! He lives in a 15 gal but I’m putting more live plants and more hiding spots for him hopefully!
Congratulations to you and your Betta!! ✌️
love it!
Merry Christmas everyone
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Merry Christmas Chris. Thanks for our Christmas present from you
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
20 gallon long boy - lots of dwarf hair grass and a ton of celestial pearl danios and red cherry shrimp 🥰
long boy 20 gal is dreams
20 gallon stocking:
20ish school of Normans Lampeye Killifish, Pair of Amano Shrimp, gold rabbit snail, plant the SOB up!
love lampeye
Love your videos. They are entertaining but you still spread the good word that fish need to be treated with love and respect. And Bettas don't need to try to live out their lives in a teacup or some awful half gal tank. Thanks and keep up the good work, dude.
The horror that angelfish must've gone through (and unfortunately/fortunately probably doesn't still go through OR maybe the poster read the comments and saw the light!) to get through that narrow opening in the beginning. :anxious_face_with_sweat:
QOTW: Since I was pondering this last night, I'd stock it with culls so I could actually selectively breed platys/swordtails (I mix them because I am chaos incarnate) instead of tossing in different kinds and seeing what comes out. I wouldn't skip making an awesome 'scape tho.
QOTW:
I'm actually currently building a 20 Long Blackwater tank...It's going to be stocked with 14 green neon tetras and 8 pygmy corydoras.
Omg, same... How have we both thought of the same thing? 😂
Mine is a 20g long, planted blackwater, and I was thinking green neons with some corydoras of some sort.
Yo, we be posting on the HoLiDaYs?
Sweet, I've been up for the past 6HR, and my family just got up. I've been binging to your longer videos while doing tank matinance
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
And happy fishkeeping :)
Me be like rolling on the floor when he said “my pc was hot enough to cook bacon”
lmao xD i rly shud try it, or at least an egg

FISH TANK REVIEW MAKES ME FEEL ALIVE 🔥🔥🔥🔥
very glad to hear that
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
@@FishForThought merry christmas and happy holidays!
The worst part of the betta soroity tank is there was a male betta in there. 15 fish total, with 2 giants and a male. It was atrocious. It got dragged through the mud by the r/bettafish subreddit but the mods wouldn't take it down. Eventually OP took it down. It got reposted to at least 2 other aquarium subreddits of people saying "jfc this guy is nuts."
That's dedication posting on Christmas day happy Christmas
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
you helped me learn how to make a proper betta tank. god bless you😀😀
It's Christmas but, our boy Chris don't miss.
hahaha I love that

Merry Christmas FTR!!! 🎉
Merry Christmas to you to
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
How to care for fish
Step 1. Research
Step 2. Get tank
Step 3. Let belter cycle
Step 4. Get fish
Step 5. Repeat steps 1-4 Until satisfied
Merry Christmas for everyone
12:21 Dude the bettas where I work are shipped like this too and I have never seen a dead one! Apparently they are taken out and put in new bags periodically during shipping.
I just got fish your videos help me with learning how to take care of them thank you
Thanks for making us aware of this invasive species.
My last job was a conservation biologist so it's a big deal to me!
2:42 there is still a fish in the glass, he thought that one more would be overstock apparently 😒
the first "tank" there are what looks like rasboras and bettas in a smaller tank in the background 😭
Quotw: Chris you might be a mindreader, I have an exactly 20 gallon tank. I have 1 female betta, 4 harlequin rasboras, 3 Mickey Mouse platties and 3 mystery snails in it. Btw: Merry Xmas to everyone or kwanza if you like it more! 🤪
Mind reading is my part time job perhaps xD
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
My tank is 20 gallons and I have one Betta, one Yo Yo Loach, one Hillstream Loach, two Cory’s, 2 African Dwarf Frogs, some Endlers, some Pygmy Cory’s, an Assassin snail and some pest snails. Also have lots and lots of plants to include floaters.
Merry Christmas didn’t think there would be one today
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
QOTW: planted with swords and crypts, centerpiece pair of Apistogramma Borelli, school of ~10 ember tetras, 2 mystery snails, and maybe a school of 6 marble hatchets.
good stuff very nice variation
Love that sponsorship my guy 🤌 chefs kiss
QOTW: Fortunately I was finishing up AOT just prior to this vid, so I'm not as tempted to overstock them 20 gallon walls: 2-4 African Dwarf Frogs, a small handful of Leopard Guppies and Amano Shrimp. Possible riparian shelf to buy a bit more real estate for movement below water and roots for playing in, but submersed plant zones too for them lil shrimps and guppies. Happy Holidays, Folks!
QOTW: cherry shrimp, more cherry shrimp, elodia canadensis, one sad java fern and one pretty good amazon sword... oh, and snails... many... snails....
Where's Shrimpo?
Beach pebbles, lava rock and a piece of well sundried driftwood.
My 20 gallon has a scarlet badis male and tons of red/cherry neocaridina shrimp. ❤️
Oh that qotw’s perfect for me! (sorry for all the comments btw, and merry Christmas!)
I have a 20 long in bedroom I’ve been planning so many different stockings for
Either 8-10 hardy shoaling fish like black neon tetras or harlequin rasboras paired with a group corydoras catfish, a single short-finned betta fish, some glofish danios, or a group of 5-7 male platies
awesome, I knew some stocking options for a good ol 20 gal is gonna be helpful to someone!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
@@FishForThought Yeah imho 20 gallons is a great size for beginners (not too big or too small) and great for most “beginner fish”!
And for stocking too, since one can keep a single shoal, some bottom dwellers, a centerpiece fish, and even some invertebrates, or keep things simple with only one or two of those options
Merry Christmas!!! My parents gave me baking sheets but all I wanted was some fluval stratum 😔
maybe you can make some kind of trade haha
7:50 That saltwater hermit crab is a blue leg, they're really tiny at about half an inch. They tend to prefer conical shells like nassarius snails so I'm sure it's very happy in an assassin snail shell!
10:00 looks like a Farlowella/stick catfish. They're super cool but I've heard they can be somewhat sensitive. Also their bodies are quite stiff so they need some extra space to be able to turn around.
I'm stocking a 20 right now. I wish it was a 20 long, but the spot I put it in will not accommodate that footprint. Anyway, so far, I have ember tetras, green neons, nerite snails, and assorted cherry shrimp. Still undecided about what else to add. Probably more green neons. I would love to have a pair of German blue rams - they're one of my bucket list fish - but was advised against keeping them with such tiny tankmates. I wish I could find something that would eat pond snails and leave my other inverts alone. I don't overfeed, but the hitchhikers that came in on a shipment of plants found a very rich food source in the thick layer of biofilm on some mopani wood, and have absolutely exploded in numbers. "Don't worry about the biofilm," they said. "It's a great food source," they said. Damn right it was. Grr.
Anyway, green neons are awesome. I think they're my new favorite, along with pygmy cories, last week's other new addition, now residing with one of my bettas, Alpha. He's a gorgeous fish, but every time I look at that tank, I end up watching the cories.
How I would stock a 20 gallon: 6 neon tetras, 3 kuhli loaches, a smaller species of pleco, 2 corys, and 2 platies or mollies. That might be a little overstocked but it should be fine.
A qotw:- I'd definitely go for a school of green neon tetras along with some amano shrimp, a group of kuhli loaches and a centrepiece female betta fish!
Chris:I will show you how to make a ecosphere. Demonic fish keepers: NOOOOOOOO!!!!
QOTW
I already have a 20g! I have a small school of Platies and on female Betta. Since I added her, she almost looks like she schools with the platies sometimes!
The long nosed sucker is farlowella vittata, I think...
If it is, it would be the best sucker I ever owned, always hanging out in plain sight, very food driven, very active. I suppose every fish has their own character but from where I stand, that was the best sucker to add to a communal aquarium and a long time friend
the first one makes me sad . . . . all the fish in tiny containers in the background. moved my minnows up from a 15gallon to a 33 gallon even looking at the old tank kinda makes me feel bad since i ended up with so many due to breeding
Merry Christmas chirs and Milly greetings from the Philippines
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Merry Christmas! I think it would be cool to have a 20 gallon stocked with about 15 ember tetras and pygmy corys with some shrimp and snails.
Merry Christmas 🎅
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Proud owner of a 20g long. Suggestions for a centerpiece fish would be appreciated: 12 CPDs, 4 panda cories, 4 stiphodon gobies, 3 Otos, 100+ blue dream shrimp, 10 nerites&Chiltons.
My 20 High has a paradise gourami, a school of zebra danios and some tiny blue ramshorn snails.
I love natural looking tanks the most so they feel right at home hopefully
for sure
Now that i have an aquarium myself. These videos have way more meaning😂
QOTW: in not really a fish keeping Expert so i might be wrong, but i would put a female betta as my center fish, some ember tetras and a few chili rasboras(optional), then for the bottom dwellers some panda corys and a few snails
Merry Chris-mas
hahaha
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
My 20 gallon high contains an uncountable number of Blue Rili Shrimp, a small colony of Babualti shrimp, and one Clown Pleco.
that's a great great problem to have there!
I was having a bad day but I forgot there was a FFT so thank you for making my day
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
im muslim but thanks@@FishForThought
My 20 gallon has a female betta with 6 peacock gudgeons, 3 JP trapdoor sails, 1 nerite snail.
I just got a 20 gallon with albino Cory’s and a some tetras so probably that
Merry Christmas man
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
There is an awesome pet store in St. Catharines, Ontario that my daughter showed me. Garden City Pets (no, not sponsored nor do I have an affiliation with them) actually have the fish in humane conditions. Even the 2 bettas they had for sale were the sole occupants of 5 gallon tanks!
