    (Trip Report #26) Here's my trip report of a Delta CRJ-900 flight from DCA to JFK. The plane was built in 2013 (I think) and delivered in February 2014, so it was quite new. Our route took us over Northern Virginia, then Maryland, then along the East Coast. Enjoy!

      Thanks for watching! I have a handful of flight videos that I still need to edit and upload, so hopefully the next one won't be much longer :-)

    I've flown one while I was coming into JFK Airport from Greenville SC. I love those CRJ-900 planes. Even though the landing was rough.

    One of the better videos I have seen. No BS just great views. Would like to see more wing but still ok. Grew up just north of ANC and the Pentagon. Used to see the recips coming out of National. Lot has changed since DC-9-30s Eastern.

    I was just through there. I think that US Airways Express was a ERJ-175 which seats about 90.

    Great video. I love the CRJ 900. What kind of camera did you film this with?

    ok, now THAT is a cool shot of the Pentagon. Living in the NYC area and frequently traveling to/from DC, I've never flown for this trip. (Then again, as fast a I drive I could give airliners a run for the money....traffic notwithstanding)

    I have to fly on a CRJ 900 next month From Brownsville TX to DFW American Eagle and beyond terrified. I've never been on anything smaller than a MD 80 and I've heard nothing but horrible stories about Mess Airlines. Everyone tells me I'm going to be fine and nothing bad will happen, but I don't feel that way :(

    Really nice video! You rather this plane or Embraer 175 ?

    • @KBurchfiel
      @KBurchfiel  Před 10 lety +1

      I would say the E-175, but this was a good flight.

    • @calvinrovinescu6166
      @calvinrovinescu6166 Před 9 lety +2

      They're really not a whole lot different. The E175 gives the illusion of being bigger because of its design and I think it has more floor to ceiling space which helps be because I always hit my head when I get out of my seat on the CRJ. Some of the older CRJs are really beat up but blame the express carriers for that. If the CRJ has the NG interior, then like I said though no a whole lot different, but if it doesn't it won't be very nice. They even use basically the same engines too.

    Did you have a misaligned window here? I'm about to book on a CRJ-900 and I'd rather not have to stretch forward to see outside

    • @KBurchfiel
      @KBurchfiel  Před 9 lety +1

      I find with CRJs (and other airplanes too) that some windows are more in front of the seat than I'd like. Sometimes it seems a matter of luck. What you do want to watch out for is seats with no window at all! (Yes it does happen.) Seatguru.com will let you know if that's the case.

    • @KBurchfiel
      @KBurchfiel  Před 9 lety +1

      KBurchfiel
      Ah yes, at about 2:50 you hear a 'bump' -- the person in front reclined their seat. Thunk! They of course have the right to recline the seat, but I think the window was a bit too forward -- so video conditions got cramped all of a sudden!

    @royalsfan7786 Před 9 lety

    +KBurchfiel - Everyone who plans on posting a video of the airline boarding process should watch this video. Please try to hold the camera up like this 0:14 so we can actually see something other than the floor, or the posterior of the person in front of you. Nice job.

    • @Eagle-hg2vy
      @Eagle-hg2vy Před 7 lety +1

      AmandasGlambition all planes are smooth. Turbulence makes it bumpy.

    • @JohnAnderson-sq8lt
      @JohnAnderson-sq8lt Před 6 lety

      CRJs are much smoother than Embraer, Pilots will tell you E175 and E 190 don't handle well in wind

    • @JohnAnderson-sq8lt
      @JohnAnderson-sq8lt Před 6 lety

      only because airlines jam more seats in, less seats more space, try asking your airlines to order new CS 100 / CS 300

    Flight Attendants cant even be bothered making their own announcements any more? They have to use pre-recorded?

    • @KBurchfiel
      @KBurchfiel  Před 9 lety +4

      I'm sure it's company policy and not necessarily up to the Flight Attendants. Some announcements will be pre-recorded and others might be 'live,' depending on the situation. Thanks for watching!

      @N145PM Před 9 lety

      Just making today;s air travel more impersonal, sterile and unfriendly. Great move.

    • @KBurchfiel
      @KBurchfiel  Před 9 lety +5

      anthony ward The safety announcements are quite often pre-recorded. If an airplane has seatback video screens you'll often see them there. For something as important as a safety briefing it makes sense that they standardize the language. But other announcements are usually live.

    • @landonwashington5866
      @landonwashington5866 Před 9 lety +6

      anthony ward It makes sense on the CRJ 900's there's only two flight attendants, the recording is so the flight attendants can do a live demonstration with the safety devices for all the passengers. Otherwise you'd have one flight attendant at the front of the plane making it hard for everyone to see, and the other one over the intercom.
