If you can't tell the difference between a simple tap strafe config vs literal automated neo strafes and 0 recoil configs, you need to stop sharing your opinions. He is definitely the lesser evil here and has a horse in this race. I don't support configs at all but they're definitely not all the same level of severity

The mnk players using controllers is false. Ever heard apac notorious mnk player Ras? Aceu or Faide?. The movements were already discovered but roller players took it farther which created insane movements because they found out configs were available as long as they were playing apex on steam. The average mnk and controller doesn't abuse configs. Its those players who think their good at the game with a few clicks of a button for movement.
How do so many people not understand what the actual problem was. When I played roller I watched one video on tap strafing and figured out binding wasd all at once was ridiculous. they are making changes to remove automated strafing on controller and will also be making changes to prevent the chaining of cfg files via the +exec command during game time. In other words, we are disabling the ability to use some configs that would allow for a greater range of movement than is usually possible within the game.

The root of this entire problem is crossplay. Considering the unique benefits and differences between controller and MnK, the only way to have fair competitive integrity is to eliminate controller vs MnK. MnK players hate the idea that aim assist helps controller players with recoil. Controller players hate the idea that MnK has movement advantages. No matter what side you’re on, I think the majority agree that the opposing side has the advantage and they don’t want to play against each other.

honestly extesyy really is coping: trying to asynchronously use a scroll wheel (digital input) with a controller (analog inputs). Won't even work since lurching is disabled whenever analog inputs are detected. Just hope that Respawn implements an in-game way for controllers to lurch with rotational aa getting a nerf instead of making workarounds.

imo i think scroll wheel on controller can be a thing like back in fortnite the controlla scrolla (scroll wheel on controller) was used to reset edits/scroll inventory, its just gonna be like using paddles and stick extentions/grips
I use steam configs but the only thing i use is rebinding the share button to the R key so i can reload behind a door, do we all agree controller players should be able to do this? Its literally a 1:1 rebind no extra actions or automation, thoughts?

@@KenoTerra with his playstyle playing with AA on would be pointless anyway. since when you switch between inputs it disables AA for a few seconds, so if you do a tap strafe mid combat, you lose the AA benefits, which in his situation might return randomly and mess him up more, so he just opts to go without AA altogether.

Here's my problem is that they use movement to advertise and market they're game(ie mantle jump tap strafes in apex trailers), now if you want that experience you can't have it on controller. I think overall it was good to take out the cheating aspect of configs however they should implement a way for movement to be accessible by controller as well.

As an mnk player i was interested to see how easy these configs make movement. Literally plugged my controller in, pressed controller layout and chose a free layout trom the community page and could tapstrafe without any practise at all. Took me weeks to figure it out on mouse and keyboard. Thats the problem

Usually claw comes natural for some people and also someone who plays claw usually has a better control over their game overall than someone who plays regular or with paddles, the claw play is usually the people to also press buttons faster too
For me I forced myself to adapt in halo 3 days when people would jump shoot and aim I had to do the same. Eventually it became natural as uncomfortable and hard it was to play claw. Now it's more comfortable to play claw then paddles. So I don't feel the need to do the learning curve for paddles.

I agree that the main issue is the automation vs skill. I think controller should have the capability to do high level movement but it shouldn’t take away from the skill involved in doing said movement. Like armor swapping or supergliding. Neither are that difficult to do in game but they do require muscle memory and skill to pull off. Automating it just makes you question why you’d spend time trying to learn it in the first place
Controller is and will always be the inferior input, so no, it doesn't have the capability of higher level movement, only way it can is with cheats, also known as cfg.

Not much people know how CONFIGs really works, and those cfg you see on that polemic video cannot be used together, you have to decided tapstrafe, neotrapstrafe or jitter aim, the jitter aim works just with certain loadout and scopes and your hipfire won't work. at the end this is the begining of respawn getting rid of tapstrafe in general, so at the end you will have a very boring gameplay
here's a super easy solution: remove all the movement "tech" (which are glorified bugs in the engine) and aim assist and you liteally solved all the issues.
Movement is the only thing that sets apex apart from other battle royales and if they were to remove it in its entirety, the game would fall off way harder than it already is. The only solution to make the inputs fair is either banning cfgs or giving mnk aim assist

I've said since back in S5/6. Remove scroll wheel binds and marcos, in fact, remove cfgs for both MnK and controller players. Keep every movement mechanic IF you are skilled enough to use them. Bring back bunny hop healing. Ban any strikepack/chronus/Xim user and the obvious aimbotters, wall hackers etc. Give console players 120hz. No way it's taken nearly 5 years for this to be a thing.

they are making changes to remove automated strafing on controller and will also be making changes to prevent the chaining of cfg files via the +exec command during game time. In other words, we are disabling the ability to use some configs that would allow for a greater range of movement than is usually possible within the game.

The root of this entire problem is crossplay. Considering the unique benefits and differences between controller and MnK, the only way to have fair competitive integrity is to eliminate controller vs MnK.
MnK players hate the idea that aim assist helps controller players with recoil. Controller players hate the idea that MnK has movement advantages.

honestly extesyy really is coping: trying to asynchronously use a scroll wheel (digital input) with a controller (analog inputs). Won't even work since lurching is disabled whenever analog inputs are detected. Just hope that Respawn implements an in-game way for controllers to lurch with rotational aa getting a nerf instead of making workarounds.

Here's my problem is that they use movement to advertise and market they're game(ie mantle jump tap strafes in apex trailers), now if you want that experience you can't have it on controller. I think overall it was good to take out the cheating aspect of configs however they should implement a way for movement to be accessible by controller as well.

Literally plugged my controller in, pressed controller layout and chose a free layout trom the community page and could tapstrafe without any practise at all. Usually claw comes natural for some people and also someone who plays claw usually has a better control over their game overall than someone who plays regular or with paddles, the claw play is usually the people to also press buttons faster too
For me I forced myself to adapt in halo 3 days when people would jump shoot and aim I had to do the same. Eventually it became natural as uncomfortable and hard it was to play claw. Now it's more comfortable to play claw then paddles. So I don't feel the need to do the learning curve for paddles.

I agree that the main issue is the automation vs skill. I think controller should have the capability to do high level movement but it shouldn’t take away from the skill involved in doing said movement.
Like armor swapping or supergliding. Neither are that difficult to do in game but they do require muscle memory and skill to pull off. Automating it just makes you question why you’d spend time trying to learn it in the first place
Controller is and will always be the inferior input, so no, it doesn't have the capability of higher level movement, only way it can is with cheats, also known as cfg.
Controllers move like a bot - just the nature of having joysticks. So no, you really can’t do all of the same movement things MNK can.

Not much people know how CONFIGs really works, and those cfg you see on that polemic video cannot be used together, you have to decided tapstrafe, neotrapstrafe or jitter aim, the jitter aim works just with certain loadout and scopes and your hipfire won't work. at the end this is the begining of respawn getting rid of tapstrafe in general, so at the end you will have a very boring gameplay

Movement is the only thing that sets apex apart from other battle royales and if they were to remove it in its entirety, the game would fall off way harder than it already is. The only solution to make the inputs fair is either banning cfgs or giving mnk aim assist

I've said since back in S5/6. Remove scroll wheel binds and marcos, in fact, remove cfgs for both MnK and controller players. Keep every movement mechanic IF you are skilled enough to use them. Bring back bunny hop healing. Ban any strikepack/chronus/Xim user and the obvious aimbotters, wall hackers etc. Give console players 120hz. No way it's taken nearly 5 years for this to be a thing.

They just removed tapstrafing from controller but you can still do all that shit with no recoil and armour swapping yep classic respawn just remove the thing that wasnt even really cheating and dont fix the stuff that actually needs to be fixed

I think he just mean that no recoil configs we’re basically cheats. while his to only tap strafe imputs. There both configs yes but he’s only using them in a good fair enough manner yes 40% aim assist is bad and adding TS but he’s a damn content creator guys don’t got to shit on him just for making crazy clips and content we watch 24/7 here and that dude working his ass off he literally destroying he’s hand for us 😂 and on top of that he was practicing with no aim assist on controller I don’t condone Crazy configs like neo strafing or any configs at all In ranked but just for simple forward lurch for a controller in pubs wouldn’t be the end of the world. Hell why don’t you just make it that you can TS on controller but to do that it auto locks your aim assist off

Exactly, just look at the Pro League scene, no one I know uses configs on controller because they are banned for pro play, and you still see many controller players at the top. They don't need moving while looting, or tap strafing, yet Extesyy wants to cry about it like his pub games are going to be even more sweaty than he makes them.

CONFIGS ARE CHEATS, i repeat, CONFIGS ARE CHEATS. When you can remap a controller to mimic keyboard strokes you are now in a realm of cheating. If respawn intended for controller players to be able to tap strafe why would they not just give controller the capabilities without having to remap. When you can remap a controller to mimic a keyboard key, then I can essentially trick apex into believing that I'm using a controller while im really on MNK and gain aim assist which is totally unfair. So i repeat again, CONFIGS ARE CHEATING, end of discussion.
Only Real apex day 1's remember when the Devs announced that "moving while looting" was an "Unintended bug" and they said they were going to remove it but all the mnk pros said they would QUIT the game if this happened....I think its only fair for competitive integrity that they get rid of the "Unintended bug" now. Lets watch how fast the Mnk community complains 😂😂
