There isn't a song that Kelly can't sing. She is truly a gifted singer and I don't think she gets the recognition she deserves for that.
Agree 100%. She's obviously well known, but she's not every I felt gotten the recognition deserved.

This song always me cry. Kelly’s performance gave me goosebumps. And I cried again. She has such powerful vocals.
I love how Garth cried and just bolted out of his seat with appreciation. I love seeing people praise Kelly because she’s my all time favorite singer ever, and to be honest I feel like she doesn’t get the recognition she deserves often enough. She knows how to grab and pull that emotion right out of you. I can’t listen to her songs Because of You and Piece By Piece without crying, especially when she does them live. I just absolutely adore her voice. Her tone, control, versatility, the emotion she exudes - just amazing to me. She gets better with age. She’s so much better of a singer now than when she started out and back then I already had thought she was the cat’s meow. She never fails to amaze me more when I didn’t think it was possible. We’ve really got a taste the last couple years of just how versatile she is with her covers. Instead of one song at a concert she’s giving us 5 a week! My only complaint is she is stuck doing half the song, it leaves me wanting a full version. She makes me wish she would do an album of covers lol. I know it’s done like that as a time saving exercise but it’s such a shame. Great reaction by you! 🤍

When he was on her show, she told him that this song helped her through her divorce, and here she is pouring it all out. Just tears.

Kelly is seriously underrated because she’s absolutely phenomenal. She’s my favorite female artist of all time, and Michael Jackson is my favorite male artist of all time.
Yes with this performance, Kelly has replaced Stevie Nicks for me. Although I lover Stevie forever and she goes back a long way into my soul -- Kellys performance here reaches deeply in so many different directions - it is in fact a whole nother level in her execution and its as though she is giving it to Garth as a gift. Couple that with her amazing likability and personality.

She was the perfect choice for singing this song in honor of Garth. I bet I have listened to this 30 times, at least. It is difficult to describe the impact this song, and that album, had in the 80’s. The 80’s were not all neon, glitter and strange hair and clothes. We were going through a crisis and this was tough, in every which way it could have been tough. We lost great people, friends, family, famous people and if their deaths were not bad enough, it came along with speculation, judgements, conclusions, none of it right and none of it necessary. Or relevant. Death is never easy, but this was a slow one, a painful one and the impact of losing people in the way it happened just cannot be described. It was also the time that Garth broke through, with this incredible music, literally changed country music for the masses. The impact this man has had on music cannot be overstated. Kelly was so great with this song, it is thoughtful, it is special, it is intentional, it has her great voice but her southern and growing up with country, helped her with this performance. She was able to sing it but add in the country sounds here and there that just belonged. LOVED IT! ❤️

Oh sweetie, I absolutely love your reaction to Kelly’s version of this classic in my opinion. I love her version and how she came in a cappella at the beginning. I love that song was it blasted with other instruments and it was just the piano. I absolutely, absolutely loved hell she brought that last verse up high in her voice. One of the best parts to this I think was Garth’s reaction to Kelly and the amazing look on his face at the end! Bravo!

I'm socked! I'm a fan of Kelly since American Idol, I'm from Europe and I remembered staying awake until 3-4 in the morning just to see Kelly's performance on AI. Since then I am a forever fan and I will be forever thankful for her voice and her music. She has one of the best voice in the world of all times and I"m blessed that I get to hear her voice and music everyday!

This is such a great performance. I have probably watched it 10 times now and it hits me in the feels every time. I saw an interview that Kelly had with Mariska Hargitay from Law and Order: SVU on her show and Mariska told Kelly that she listens to Kelly singing It’s Quiet Uptown before she has to film an emotional scene on SVU. I felt that; because so many songs that Kelly sings bring me to tears. I really enjoyed your review of this performance. It had me emotional again!
