honestly you did a great job vocalizing it. It took me a whole whopping 20minutes because the hearts had reset when I did this. (yes I have core map completion for anyone wondering) lol.

I can confirm that you can pull the spear out with just the skin. I wanted to try it because I was too lazy to unequip and re-set up all my legendary stuff by equipping the actual item and hey presto, it worked!

TU Muk, also the Heat Core Infusion can be bought after completing the ach for 100g and 50 echos from Sarettokk at Hooligan's Route in LA

Saying "stat changing is trading an item for another item" is a very good way to put it. Also explains why you better shouldn't do it with precursors.
Another nice guide. Did you pay attention how much karma was needed? Didn't look like a lot so I guess the 1k AA is the biggest cost?

Yes, you can pull the spear by transmuting an existing glove's appearance, at least you could a few days ago when I did it.

HOLD Up Mukluk - I thought it was rumored Falling Star would be used as a precursor item for a future Legendary - wouldn't stat changing erase that ability for people to be able to use it as a precursor?
I've not heard that from any sources at arenanet. It also isn't listed as a precursor on its tooltip like others are.
Like mukluk said its not stated anywhere. Also itd be a major L for arenanet to screw over everyone that stat changed it. With no benefit for them making it a surprise.
Yeah hopefully it's not a thing. I had heard it from a few other streamers that it was possibly one so when you had mentioned it I was like oh no that could really screw over a lot of people so I wanted to say something.

I have 2 questions:
1. can I change stats on the infusion?
2. does the infusion effect has any optical impact on other weapons?
1. Not that I know of.
2. None that I have seen.
I'm praying REALLY BLOODY HARD that the spear is not a precursor because I already stat changed it FUCK.

I'm too paranoid to stat change the spear in case its the precursor for the new legendary spear in the future.

This spear is also a good choice in case you don't have an Ascended spear yet and you're willing to wait a short bit to get it.
I'll probably just get any I immediately need from the raid vendor.

Yes and yes
"stat changing is trading an item for another item" It will destroy your precursor, don't do it at all it will go to a normal spear at the end. Then u have to send a support ticket
Do not do mystic forge stat changing on precursors, that is truth.
However, I've not seen any indications of the falling star spear being a precursor.

@@swoothrev5798 There is a new legendary spear and legendary backpack coming in janthir. There has been no official news to my knowledge that this falling star spear is related to them in any way.

A quick question. Is this a precursor weapon for the upcoming legendary spear weapon?

I tried just using the Meteor-Wielder skin on the gloves (no appearance) and the spear still glows bright red without the infusion. If you don't use the Meteor-Wielder skin, the spear won't have the bright red glow
Incorrect. I've been running around both with the gloves unshown & with the skin changed. Spear still glows.

I can be used for its stats on any item with an infusion slot. If you are asking if it enhances other weapons visually: not that I know of.
Imagine not waiting and wasting mats to get stats you wanted and now you can choose them for free. XD
So, if I pick the Heavy version glove, I won't be able to use that appearance on a Light or Medium, am I right?!

so i used an ascended salvage tool on the glove since i didn't need it anymore after the quest, and i didn't get a ball of dark energy. all i got was a stupid mithril ore! i thought all ascended armor would give a ball of dark energy? did anyone else try this?
