Wow. So some other Mario games can not be completed coinless, but the game BASED ON COINS can be completed coinless. Great logic here.
I know, right? I've tried beating NSMB coinless, but sadly World 8-tower there is literally a corridor that is filled with 7 coins that, unless some strange out-of-bounds glitch is discovered, cannot be avoided )=

Fun fact: I've been thinking about an engine with all game elements from the entire NSMB series (as well as a bit of custom stuff), and I think it was actually this particular video that gave me the idea to include a Coin Low Score on each level, in addition to setting Bronze, Silver and Gold Goals for the Coin High Score (obviously there would also be such a ranking for Low Scores, probably turquoise, blue and purple). And there would be a message once you have the "official" perfect Low Score for each level (as well as for getting Gold on each level).

But it wouldn't be a thing if you couldn't do it on just about every level
thats a trophy to do that tho
I have been trying that. In plage knights campaign I have been able to complete the first level collecting no Treasure (except forced treasure and no Cypher Coins (there are some tough ones.) I have been debating on weather I should upload each level as I play through the game or go until I either hit a wall or beat it and then upload the entire run.
You know, it’s ironic that the Mario game whose whole gimmick revolves around coins is beatable coinless.

Man, I don't mean to speak ill of them, but there are a lot of people who have suddenly decided to shift their channel focus to "Can You Beat x Without x" type videos, and quite frankly they don't have anything on you. I'll always come back to Papa Gamechamp to watch my challenge runs.
I've been doing this type of playthrough in a Let's Play style on my own channel. Right now I'm trying to beat Sonic Colors without pressing the Boost Button.

-no fruit
- no aku aku masks
- no spinning
-no breaking boxes(checkpoints don’t count because they are opened, neither do TNT or nitro. If you activate TNT and blow up a box with it that’s fine)
Would be interesting to see.
-No apples: tough like this game, but I don't see anything that would be make it impossible.
-No spinning: Only a challenge in the first game as all the other games you can slide.
-no breaking boxes: This would the really interesting one to see. Knowing him, he would make it so that you can't grab a single box, including checkpoints as they do count towards the counter. Same with TnT, though I'm pretty sure you are never required to break anything. There are places where it will be difficult dodging boxes.

Yppah Dalg true, I actually tried a tiny bit of this myself and found that no aku aku masks is actually quite difficult. You can’t grab them and if you die too many times you have to reset your entire run. Also there is one level where you must grab a special aku aku to light up the level.
@@nicholasali3566 It's difficult, but not impossible. That one level will require some memorization but it's doable. Plus those dont count as actual masks, but thats just semantic and should count towards the challenge imo. Otherwise with good play, you 'should' be able to do all of these at rhe same time.

@Diego Guillen Albaiceta Maybe. The Yoshi sections might be difficult, though, since you have to aim Yoshi's tongue with the WiiMote cursor. But I'd be interested in seeing that run.
@@DrRank at least with yoshi you can skip majorities of levels by abusing yoshis hovering glitch to skip past some dangerous areas to get the star easier.

In Mario Odyssey, coins are like a trap. When a boss gives you coins, I just HAVE to get them and that's how I usually die. I don't think I could do this challenge if you gave me a million years.

I do. I did the Splatoon one and this one. As well as a few of my own, like Sonic Lost World without pressing the Run Button. And, as a bonus challenge, I also banned non-running actions triggered with the Run Button, such as flying with Green Hover and flicking the right paddle in the pinball machines.
Damn, not bad. I guess I'm just better at online games than games like these. How about no Climb challenge next for BotW?
I would love to... except I don't have that game. I can't even afford a Switch yet.
About the No Run Button run, though... is it cheating if I use the Speed Shoes item? Even if it's a consumable that can never be replaced once I use it? Because that seems to be my only option for Lava Mountain Zone 3's final tower.
