  • Here is the infamous Duane Allman solo on the first half of Layla. This is one of the first slide guitar solos I ever heard, and it still moves me the way it did the first time I heard it.
My video book & course "50 Slide Guitar Licks": dantoppomusic....
    Equipment Used:
-1961 Gibson SG Reissue (Open E Tuning)
    -Bias FX Amp Plugins

Hey Kane. I like having my action around 1/8 inches at the 12th fret to play both slide and finger style. The nut on my guitar is slightly shimmed up so I don’t fret out around the first three frets. String tension is important too. If you have lower action, having higher string tension will make it easier to play slide because it will be harder to fret out. Hope this helps. Thanks a lot for your kind words and support as well!
