  • Before leaving England for Japan I was forced to sell all my toys.
Letting them all go was difficult but most of all this FJ12.
It was a gift to my self after the birth of my twins in 2015. Owning the bike and modifying it really changed my life for the better and even after 2 years from selling it and even replacing it with a Yamaha R1 the old FJ was still on my mind.
Its great to own it again and Im looking forward to improving the look and condition of the bike to level not possible when it was my daily ride back in London

That emmissions tax put on motorcycles in london felt unfair. It took a lot of fun out of riding there

Nice, and I can understand your sentimental attachment. I'm certainly not going to brag about being on many different models, but I do have about 500,000 KM (five-hundred thousand kilometer) riding experience on various bikes; the FJ was always my favorite. The Sport-Touring is versatile for long trips and also for some sprinty adventures as well. The powerband is predictable and the engine just keeps on pulling. I still have mine, 1987 FJ12, fresh from the dealer with half-a-mile displayed on odometer. Now it shows about 75,000 miles. Unfortunately, it's been in storage for about 10 years in garage; when I get some other life priorities settled, I'll get to restoring it, too. (...I'm located in the United States, by the way.)
Having to let go of something valuable hurts. I believe you. Congratulations on your progress !

That's great I love the idea of getting a new bike and keeping it for many years. Like growing old together. Iv spent more than I imagined I would on the FJ already but I'm happy to be able to continue my life story with it

Recentyl got myself an FJ and I gotta say they're really nice to ride. I was wondering how you were able to shorten the seat? I'd also really appreciate it if you could tell me if that's an aftermarket belly fairing and where you got it if it is. The guy I bought mine from lost it :(
