You are so observant! I am at the part where buzz watched the advert, and I am amazed at how you noticed the father being reckless and mother feeding poptarts for breakfast! I never noticed that before! This makes sense why Sid is terrible, it all comes down to his upbringing by his parents!
Also they let him play with Matches, buy explosives, and skateboard to Pizza Planet by himself in the dark with no helmet. So yeah, he isn't being raised very well

I think someone mentioned it in the premier but the carpet pattern outside Sids bedroom is (purposefully) the same carpet pattern from the hallway scenes from The Shining to give the viewer a subconscious unease about the evil that lurks in the house…

I think each movie has a reference to "the Shining"(in the 4th one, when Woody is in the antiques shop, the music playing on an old record is the same as when Jack is seen in the old photo).

This was the first wholly animated 3D movie ever, and it was one of the first movies I ever saw. The original 3 Toy Story movies are one of the best animated trilogies ever. I highly recommend them.
No, it was the first computer animated 3D feature film. There were earlier 3D animated movies using techniques like stop motion and claymation.

I agree, Sid is definitely reacting to his environment- his father is presumably a drunk, and it seems they are less well-off too. Pop tarts are basically the twinkies of breakfast, and they don't have all the newest toys. Even his room was full of make-shift shelving whereas Andy's room had branded furnishing. And if the toys weren't sentient beings, he was just being creative and expressing himself through (mostly) healthy means. He shouldn't have been wrecking his sister's toys, but it's also not that unusual for big brothers. And at least he was actually doing something creative with them afterwards.
If Sid knew his toys were alive he definitely wouldn't have tried pulling off the stuff he did before

I love your laugh! That's the same guffaws I had when I saw this in the movie theater during it's original release & I was in my early 20s in NYC. In fact, most of the audience was adults, not many kids at all because it was an evening showing. But the other times I caught it, like on a weekend or matinee, there were kids. These toys were a stroll down memory lane; I had so many of these b.i.t.d.
Great reaction! Btw, it's not George Clooney's voice, it's actor/voice actor Tim Allen. He had sitcoms like "HOME IMPROVEMENT" and starred in the film GALAXY QUEST and other films. :D

Writer / Producer / Director Joss Whedon wrote and directed many classics including: the MCU's Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, the TV series Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Dollhouse, Firefly / Serenity, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, and more.
Woody never rubbed it in anyone's faces of being the favorite toy. The others were jealous of Woody even before buzz came into the room. When they all had a meeting before the birthday presents. Potato head stated of course Woody isn't worried he's been Andy's favorite since kindergarten. So, they played favorites with buzz and made Woody feel left out too and playing on his fears of being abandoned.

The Toy Story series really marked my childhood and even adulthood much like Harry Potter, the song from the intro is incredibly nostalgic for me. It brings so many memories from 20+ years ago, i was like 8 ❤.

When this came out, it seemed to encourage some parents to tell kids it was real and their toys came to life when they were asleep. Some probably did it before this, but I remember my cousin telling me her toys came alive like Toy Story and her mum vouched for her! They lied to me and I was so excited (but skeptical) because she had a large dog stuffed animal and I really wanted a dog XD Loved the Toy Story films. I hope you watch and like them all :D
Woody has been with both Andy's. Andy is andy jr. Woody's name on his boot. He belonged to Andy's father. So, woody has been around for longer than most of the toys in that room. At least that's the theory and stuff I read that Woody belonged to his father.

My only hate about Toy Story 1 is that I hated most of The Other toys for mocking and making fun of Woody and making him Feel like he was gonna be replaced, it's like they're all supposed to be somewhat friends and Help each other out in the room and it's like it Feels like they almost hated Woody and they started mocking him as soon as buzz got in the room, where they said oh he's a new favorite and Then they start mocking Woody so much that it caused his inner Jealousy and his own insecurities come out. I just felt bad for him. But I can understand kids minds like this heck even us adults sometimes like new things sometimes but it doesn't mean that we forget that we like the old stuff too sometimes more because they have sentimental value to us.
True, I am not comfortable to be around people who poke fun of other peoples insecurities. No matter how irrational the insecurity is, it is still a serious mental issue and needs serious attention. Poking fun never helps, it just makes one feel left out and even more insecure!

The tool box is a Binford product, and Binford is the tool company that Tim Allen works for in Home Improvement.

I have always loved all of the Toy Story films, I saw this one in theaters with my mom. I was just a tot, I even loved Toy Story 4. The movie ended on a perfect note. This is the first fully computer animated film ever released, so a lot of the jokes were missed because everyone was so stunned by the technology at the time. Thank you for sharing this, I loved watching this with you and enjoyed laughing along. 😂😂 This may be the hardest I’ve ever seen you laugh btw, 😂.

Toy Story was one of, if not the first, feature length computer generated movie. Or at least the first that popularized the form. Toy Story and Toy Story 2 are both excellent. Number 3 is pretty good as well. I didn’t care much for 4, but that’s just my personal opinion.

If you continue with the Toy Story movies, definitely watch up to #3 but then I’d recommend stopping. Toy Story 3 really wraps up their journey and is a tear jerker in the best way, especially if you gre up with the films like I did. I was 15 when #3 came out and I was embarrassed because I couldn’t help the sobbing and wailing even as a teenager (much to my family’s entertainment). But Toy Story 4 undoes everything that the third movie accomplished and now that they’re making a 5th movie, you can tell it’s just a cash grab and the integrity is lost. I say stick with the original trilogy because they’re all such great films.
