  • Christmas Day was behind us and it was time to blow off the cobwebs with a festive and very muddy get together at Padley Gorge.
20 different trucks assembled and headed off into the woods for some muddy madness and some fantastic trailing.
I decided to go with no background music for this video. Please let me know what you think of this decision.
In the spirit of Christmas, here's the day's song..
On the twelfth(ish) day of Christmas, my car group gave to me:
    12 TRX4s
    11 sets of Prolines
    10 Fusion SEs
    9 plastic bags
    8 2 speed boxes
    7 GT5Cs
    6 slips in the mud
    5 Defenders
    4 wet pairs of jeans
    3 electrical malfunctions
    2 broken trailers
    and a muddy Christmas tree.
A big thanks to Andrew for organising the day!
If you fancy getting an FTX Outback Gladius like I was driving, please support your local model shop but if you don't have anywhere nearby then here's a link to a UK retailer that you can trust.. (I'll get a tiny commission to help keep the channel going, so buying through this is very helpful)

Also loving my Gladius. I don't miss the ESC it came with though. That and the few mods I've done to mine have really made it a very capable truck. What a beautiful place that was to trail at, woulf love to have that on my doorstep =)

      Thanks, Dwight.
I think that will probably do for driving it completely stock now. But.. I've just improved the ESC, so I'm going to give that one more drive to see. I swapped the motor wires over and reversed the channel. The little test I did seems much better.
As for having that place on my doorstep.. I wish. It's a 90 minute drive.

@rcpie Ah! Assumptions? My bad, I bet you wish it was closer? It's such a beautiful spot.
I was wondering if the motor was biased in the reverse. I'll pop back in to check it out. It seems like there are only three of us doing Gladius content, so it's nice for me to look at other people's take on things.
The hobbywing 880 in mine is imo one very solid upgrade, but it'll be nice if your tweak gives people a free option.
I'm not sure if you've seen, but this is available in other parts of the world with a Fusion SE as standard. I think it's called the Rock Viper Fusion version ;)

Not sure if the motor is biased one way or the other or just neutral. It's not likely to be too significant on a silver can, though. Having said that, they have a built in fan which, presumably, works better in one direction.
I certainly wish that place was nearer to me, yeah!
I'm not looking to do much by way of upgrading this at the moment.. Finances! We'll see what happens.
As for the Rock Viper.. I know; crazy, isn't it? Totally unheard of brand and model with only two places that I could find selling it. One in France and one in China.
