  • This is my review of the Ultrafire Cree 2000 Lumen XML-T6 Flashlight Torch.
    It is powered by 3 AAA batteries or the 3.7 volt rechargeable 18650 battery.
    There are 5 modes. Low, medium, high, strobe and SOS.
    The casing is made of steel with a raised surface for easy grip.
    Battery time on the AAA is about 1.5 hours of intermittent use.
    I've also been told this flashlight can be mounted as a tactical light.
    After field testing, my initial analysis is that I would guess the output to be somewhere around 800 lumens.
    If you're looking for a great flashlight for camping, hiking, survival or just general use, you will be happy with this flashlight.
    For the money, it can't be beat.

    Ah, finally someone who could tell me how to operate it! I have exactly the same model, but I never knew you could switch modes just by a gentle touch like that. Suddenly the modes make more sense! Thanks!

    This flashlight is absolutely brilliant. I highlight recommend. I joined my running group this evening in Hong Kong and we went through the busy for two hours, and I had lovely bright light to help me find the trail. I am super impressed with this one. I've had a few lights like this before, and this one is possibly the best. Downside, its slightly heavy, so if you are into minimal weight, perhaps look elsewhwere. But overall lovely design, waterproof, and the focus beam is very handy and useful. Thanks

      You can also zoom the flashlight and beat your attacker upside the head with it.
      It's durable. If it can handle getting run over by a fire-truck, it can handle a blow to somebody's skull.

    On these lights, is there a way to set the mode and and then have it stay on that mode? Even if I press the switch hard where it turns off, the next time it turns on it's changed to the next mode. Is this normal?

  • @tacticalAV
    @tacticalAV Před 5 lety

    I'm glad the flashlight is still getting attention, however they made a few versions with that model. Cree HQ... located a few miles from me now in kenosha, made civilian use and mil-spec versions of these but they are true specs on lumens compared to candlepower on incandescent flashlights. The different models of flashlights obviously vary between different models of LEDs used also the chipset but more or less the different types of metal and steel, gaskets and seals used to either waterproof or damage proof ect... companies have used Cree light designs in several military applications still to date and is one of the only usa made proud original LED manufacturers.

  • @JimWestmoreland
    @JimWestmoreland Před 8 lety +1

    The "Tactical" definition is relatively new. The original use for the scalloped bezel on the light is for low light illumination. You turn the light on and stand it on the bezel and it will emit enough light for you to navigate without carrying the light or disturbing others in a small area. Primarily it was designed to "Leak Light" for mapping and reading in the dark before the laptop/tablet days. Adding tactical to the description and sharpening the edge is a marketing tool for the survivalist community.

    • @SamBorgman
      @SamBorgman Před 8 lety +1

      +Jim Westmoreland But it's also suppose to help break car windows, like if car goes in water.

    • @JimWestmoreland
      @JimWestmoreland Před 8 lety

      Some do depending on the weight of the light and the strength of the user. For those situations you would be better served with a striker tool designed for the task. It would be extremely difficult to break auto glass with a light compact flashlight regardless of the shape of the bezel, especially with the limited swing space you would have available. The ability to break glass in itself wouldn't classify it as tactical anyway. That would be more along the lines of a survival or emergency tool. The original function of creating a low light lantern affect would be more along the lines of tactical use. Mostly it just comes down to semantics and marketing. The term tactical is highly subjective and can be used for almost anything.

    Do holsters come with these lights?

  • @BarreSanderson23
    @BarreSanderson23 Před 9 lety +8

    The scalloping or "serrations" around the lens of the torch is meant to be a glass breaker. It can aid in the escape from a car in which the doors are somehow jammed, for example.

      +ThawedTroglodyteJury That is what I like, these are not expensive. I have seen junk in Walmart and similar places that is not half as bright but priced at $50 or more at times. It is for these reasons that I now buy much of my stuff from online stores. Better selection and lower prices and some times even good brands that are hard to find without having to drive 300 miles.

      Yes. They are a good value. Even the smalled single-AA Cree lights put out a strong and sturdy beam. One thing I've noticed is that after a couple hours on cheap alkalines there is a noticeably dimmer light that fades rapidly thereafter. It might be good to invest in superior batteries, but now I have dozens of alkalines to use up that I bought supercheap on ebay!

  • @justme4b

    hey another thing about the serrated bezel is you can set it on a flat surface like a table top, while its on of course, and you get a nice defused light in all directions(:

  • @celticwitan
    @celticwitan Před 7 lety +1

    I have The Edge from NEBO.. aggresive removable bezal. Powerful, and on, off, strobe mode only. no fumbling with settings or focus which gets loose. You can depress the soft rubber button on the butt just a little to switch modes. The ones with sos mode just complicate things. In an emergency.. you need light, or strobe to blind an attacker then wack em in the head and run.

    • @celticwitan
      @celticwitan Před 7 lety

      Pretty sure the attack bezel can break a side window and still work. Never try to break the front windshield, it will not break. Time is important if you and your car are underwater.

    • @celticwitan
      @celticwitan Před 7 lety

      The button on the end is easier to find, the aggressive bezel will break things, and it isuncommon to drive into a body of water.. it is common to get mugged so you need it in strobe fast to disorientate him then bang the mugger in the eye or adams apple and run.

    I have one like that. It can take an 18650 or 26650. The 18650 is used with a spacer tube that the light comes with. I can also use AAA batteries if I wanted to. I got my light from eBay for around $8.00 with no charger or battery. I don't mind it not having a charger or battery with it since I have an other flashlight that those things came with and for a similar low price. I have no idea how long either flashlight would last as to how reliable they are. I find lights in Walmart, Home Depot that are overpriced and not as bright even and most of those ones don't even take lithium ion cells even. Some people think those places sell the best of everything but that is not really the case, a lot of it is mediocre quality at best and it is sad for the money that people pay.

      flashlights built for higher voltage batteries but are able to use aa or aaa usually only put out their max lumens on their high voltage cell aa and aaa is both 1.5 V and 1.2 V for rechargeble. 14500 and 18500 LiPo batteries are rechargeble and 3.6 and 3.7 V respectable if i remember correctly also when using rechargeble the more milliamps the longer battery life and longer recharge times

      ***** Yeah looks like car window breaker ones have one or several pointy things around the lens. But finding the flashlight in the dark reasoning is also not so solid. Why not just lay it on its side, you get more light too. Only burglars would need to put it lens down to minimize light spread lol And depending on the roughness of the ground you can easily scratch the lens that way. I have one that's serrated edges are pretty sharp, definitely would work as a defence weapon against people or animals.
