The ORIGINAL was in London, it ran from 1984 to 2002!
The German production premiered in1988, that's four years later.

Went to see Starlight Express when it came to Edinburgh on Tuesday. Much as I enjoyed it, they cut a bunch of the songs and characters, and cut out a load of storyline too... Was so disappointed! However if anyone does live in Britain I would still recommend going to see it, it's a great show regardless!

I heard that there was a Spanish-language production in Mexico called "Expreso Astral," but that the soundtrack recording wasn't released due to some sort of contractual dispute.
It's version of "AC-DC" was called "Macho-Fembra", which actually translates as "Masculine-Feminine."
