After doing 2 cargo trailer conversions, and installing several windows. I’ll offer the following, before purchasing the windows, removed the interior wood and check spacing of any supports, or wiring. It may provide a consideration in window selection. At the very least you will know if you are cutting through supports. While the interior wood is removed, add insulation if not already installed.

My windows from Amazon also did not have instructions but came with self tapping screws. I added a wood frame inside the door and wall to better support the windows

Mine had latches on it to hold the secure bar in about that location, so my guess is they put those in every model to allow that possibility. If you had that custom made with a latch, they probably just use the same frame.

The phillips screws might be JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) which uses a slightly different (JIS) screwdriver geometry. Phillips screwdrivers tend to strip the heads of JIS screws.

It would be nice to know what I have in mine because taking off the luan without breaking it requires taking off the WHOLE DOOR. Or, at the very least unbolting one door strut at a time. I see you got the RV latch. I kinda gave up on that and use the shed door knob instead.

You can also put duct tape on the shoe of your jig saw to keep it from scratching

The reason the screws were striping is they are made for a square bit driver. There actually a much better option but you have to use the right tool.

The end results were good though.
Is there predrilled holes on the outside window that match up to the inside trim pieces that has the predrilled holes? Looks like the screws would go into the into the window track and sit very close to the window pan. But that may be just how it looks in the video

No predrilled holes anywhere, there is a metal band/ring that goes on the inside section of the window frame that you run the screws through into a band on the out side section of the window - that essentially pulls the two sections together tight and holds the window in. There were no directions included in my shipment - but once you start looking at the two pieces it starts to make sense. lol! but thanks, it did come out okay after a few rough moments - once you do one, the next will be so much easier.

Hello, and thank you for your time.
Is there a frame in the door or crossbars of any kind, I'm about to pick up three 20x30 1.5 windows for my ctc and was wondering if there was any internal beams in the doors.
    Thanks again

Not that I know of, I was caught by surprise with that door on my trailer and still not sure what purpose that bar served other than support for the door lock perhaps. There are beams in the walls, but be prepared for surprises- Good luck on your windows.

@@bruceschneider6914 why would anyone want to do that? Nope, It was a learning experience, we actually had fun and now it’s in and it works great 😊 and we didn’t have to pay labor charges $$$… once you’ve done it on your own, second time will be easy!
