Thank you so much to my Cousin Cody for being so awesome and helping me out so much when it comes to the channel! And also for reacting to things with me lol! - Hudba
She died too soon and her voice was one of the best! Powerful, emotional and passionate!
They literally haven't seen even 10% of the songs this woman has, She was incredible
Everything I heard I liked!
Hi Laura Branigan had several albums
“Branigan” 1982
“Branigan 2 1983
“Self Control” 1984
‘Hold Me” 1985
“Touch” 1987
“Laura Branigan” 1990
“Over My Heart” 1993
She can play the piano and played “Will You Sill Love Me Tomorrow “ live in her concerts.
She was working on what would have been her final album with several completed songs before she sadly died of a brain aneurysm in 2004.
This is one of my favourite songs, glad to hear some other opinions on it
Diese Stimme❤Wow. R.I.P. Laura❤❤❤
She was talented because of her amazing voice.
Gloria is from the movie "Looking For Mister Goodbar". The lyrics all reference that movie.
That whole little time spent just listening/discovering Laura's songs and trying some music ideas and opinions was cool. I really appreciated it. Thanks.
And yep. Gloria was basically a late disco song to dance and vibe to instead of one were we "listen and appreciate".
As for Self control although many of us could still see it somewhat as a dance music, it had very different connotations depending on the person and the occasion.
She covered it from Umberto Tozzi. His italian version was huge hit all over Europe in 1979/1980.
80s has the best music! Analogue synths ruled!
I do love some good analogue synths! I like when a modern band can incorporate them into their music using all of today's technology!
She also had hits with Solitaire, Unison, Power of Love, How Am I Supposed To Live Without You, Moonlight on Water, Shattered Glass, Ti Amo, Show Me Heaven.
Dang! Thats a lot of singles!
@@PatrickMusilek Forgot one Spanish Eddie
My favorites: Heart of Me, Reverse Psychology, Angels Calling, Touch, Bad Attitude, Turn The Beat Around, Love Your Girl, Dim All The Lights
At least you tried to get him to listen to it Cody, maybe some other time lol.
I heard the original. It did not move me. But when the late Laura Branigan sang Gloria, I liked 👍 it!
Suggested next song: Laura Branigan sings Solitaire.
I feel like I’m watching Waldorf & Stadtler. Nice production analysis, zero recognition of the vocal performance & emotional content.
I'm not sure who those guys are but they sound pretty awesome to me!
Definitely sounds like a major key version of "Physical" by Olivia Newton-John
ha, and "Self Control" sounds like the exact sound and vibe a lot of modern synthwave artists are aiming for; thanks for the video!
I love Olivia,i also prefer Self Control, to this and i much more prefer Umberto Tozzi's 1979 version in Italian.Cheers.
she is the singer song writer
The eighties always sounds like it's a hairsbreadth away from erupting into a shred fest, I wonder how many session guitarists lost the gig because they couldn't hold back lol
SO TRUE!
You shoulld check her song moonlight on water
Or cry wolf
Gloria - Umberto Tozzi - 1979
Physical - Olivia Newton-John - 1981
Do your homework, guys!
Videos like this are not meant to be all encompassing, they are meant to be fun and exploratory. Check out one of our full album reactions for a bit more in depth look at artists!
Hi sorry, dropping in because i have a few notes to remember for your metallica videos im sure youll get to eventually;
firstly, when you listen to garage inc, theres a strange audio effect in the song loverman, at 2:38 seconds, or by the second verse i believe, there is this weird sound effect this bloop bloop sound like someone was accidentally shutting a tab in the studio and it made that sound effect asking you if you want to save your work. this weird sound effect, as well as the weird whispering lyrics, werent added by metallica, but theyre in the original, i personally think its offputting and annoying, but hey they are trying to be faithful. anyway so theres that.
Also secondly, when you get to Lulu i am interested in what you find wrong about it, i personally think the production is more at fault than the music itself, it doesnt sound like Lou Reed and metallica coming together for an album, but it sounds like St Anger demo tapes, with lou reed vocals slapped on top, it sounds more like LOU REED!...and metallica, when it shoukd be LOU REED AND METALLICA!!!! anyway im interested to see what you think of it, and especially the lyrics, i think it will definetley be the most interestingf of this whole metallica miniseries!
anyway thats all for now, oh and when you get to Tool you should listen to the song Lateralus! it rocks and uses the fibonacci sequence in the song. super cool mixture of maths and metal!
I always find that what ruins music is knowing too much about how its made
