Crazy to think a couple of years ago khwajas career seemed to be over now his one of the most important players for Australia
He was doing good it was just langer who didn't allow him. Imagine backing Marcus harris and many more over khawaja. Khawaja was good in odi too but didn't get further chances

It’s good that Australia allowed Mitchell Starc to play in this match and he took important wickets of Root, Stokes and Brook. He gave a lot of runs, but he tried his best. 🔥🔥🔥👏👏👏
It’s good how Australia also won the world test championship
He'll leak runs. But will also take crucial wickets.
And can also contribute with the bat "significantly."
Though he'll destroy every batsman in ODI WC

The way Usman khwaja plays ground shots looks so classic.the team temperament he shows is brilliant.
I think he is gonna be backbone of Australian batting order.
Khawaja knows well how to handle the situation with ease and patience . Also the quick fire innings by Head was brilliant. Smith is always so beautiful to watch! Starc is a experienced and classy bowler, never doubt his ability ! England still have the ability to comeback but their same temperament will be not enough ! So it's more like Australia's game.
Well Played Usman khawaja ❤
Although Starc has been giving away many runs and struggling to find his mojo and rhythm, he still has the ability to take important wickets and dismantle the backbone of the opponent's team. For example, he got Kohli out in the first innings of the WTC Final and has now taken the wickets of Root Stokes and Brook. This is what Mitchell Starc is known for and it is his specialty..♥️✨
England looks clueless at the moment 😂😂😂
What about Rahane's wicket in 2nd innings of WTC Final?
And u r forgetting Root's wicket in this innings.....the biggest wicket
England can chase 450 Let's see what's the Target
Yes england can do anything except winning this game accept it traditional cricket is dominating bazball

Of course I’m hoping for an Aussie win but I honestly love test cricket, the competitiveness and tactics they employ. It’s why I love the Ashes so much. Good luck to both teams and here’s to a good series!

Khawaja is showing his absolute class. People who think it's really easy to play on these pitches, nah! They r wrong, in fact Aussies make it look so easy to bat there
Conditions this morning were very tough, Susie and Warner did unbelievably well. yesterday they were very easy though.
@@tom4115 i agree with you but Aussie batting line-up is very dangerous than others
If you watched the early part of the Aussie innings, the ball was moving all over the place. Very tough conditions, and they played and missed a lot. But they took the right approach in those conditions, and made a very good start, considering the conditions.
Kudos to Khawaja…best test batsmen in last few years…
In both innings, Australia batted under difficult conditions ( grey skies). England batted under easier conditions, yet failed due to reckless cricket ( bazball).

Man gotta give credit to the Aussies for adjusting their plans and bowling short. Pretty ordinary and soft dismissals but that's the thing with Bazball. The day it doesn't come off it's going to look horrible.
England have forgotten that Test matches aren't like T20, because they are completely different tactics.
@@brusselssprouts560but it’s better playing this way than how they played during the Root era.
@@hz1634yes,but they shud be focused on hitting more 4s and not unnecessarily loft the ball every now and then
Play attacking, no one is stopping you, but play it the way head played without taking maximum risks. Don't play with foolishness as English batters did by playing lofted shots and getting trapped.
@@hz1634England have improved under Mcullum, I agree, but why does it have to be so suicidal? Can’t they be more positive and aggressive without throwing wickets away? I generally think it’s a change for the better, this new look England side, but this “bazball” bullshit, it’s a lame excuse. Baz didn’t invent aggressive test cricket. But what he did invent is pretending that a national test cricket team doesn’t care about winning, that they aren’t “result focused”. It’s a joke, and a lame excuse to hide behind when your team plays poorly .Baz isn’t going to save test cricket when England are 3-0 down in a home ashes series.
Australia seemed way more disciplined with both bat Nd bowl and opposite can be said for England, giving away a lot of runs. Australia way ahead in this game.
Would love to see Khwaja and Smith partnership here on Day 4.

Smith and Khawaja, distinct advantage for us, Aussies. Let’s go!
The short ball tactic often comes in handy at Lord's. I remember how Ishant sharma picked a 7-fer using the same.

Gully, yes
England failed to capitalise things on day 3 by losing 6 wickets for 47 runs. Bazball approach backfired their batting under overcast conditions. But Aussies played brilliant cricket through out the day by taking 6 wickets and just losing 2 wickets under the condition that favours the bowlers and made batting looked easier. World champions for a reason 🎉England played bazball cricket and scored 278-4 on day 2 under good batting conditions when sun is out for most for the day and made batting easier but still they losed 6 for 47 under overcast conditions in their own backyard. Bazball outclassed by Ozball. Dominant performance from the Aussies.
Bazball approach has been more about ego so far in this match. The short ball ploy has worked big time for the Aussies!

England lost the 1st test due to their own mistake, took some bold decisions.
Even after a good partnership in the 2nd test, no shot making decision,No proper planning, every batsman gifting his wicket.Because it is more important for them to play Bazball.
For getting gifted wicket you need skill,,it’s not come spontaneously,,,otherwise nz,india,sa,pak didn’t get gifted wicket,,,so, admit that australia's bowling line up is world class,,& they have the ability & skill to tempted the batsman to gift his wicket

Great player to watch out for in tests.❤
Their opening stands have been terrific. Both have been when conditions at best for bowling.
England have won both tosses, and had the best of the conditions. It was as though as soon as Oz came out to bat the clouds and gloom rolled back in.
It was not easy to bat out there.
highlights including a list of singles? since when do singles constitute highlights in a Ashes test?
Australia had the lead before Khawaja even put his pads on in the second innings, so the title is misleading. He helped EXTEND the lead, rather than TAKE the lead.
Happy to help the BBC with its English language skills, for a fee.
Khawaja is goated 🐐, in his prime
BazBall can only bring you results in short term but in order to get results in your favour u need to bat sensibly & with a genuine plan. Teams like Australia will swallow u with their mental gameplan.

Age catches up with especially fast bowlers. He is not able to keep up the pace like say 3 years ago, and bowling shorter spells.
In test cricket it is hard to build pressure when it is known the strike bowler can only bowl a few overs and doesn't have that really quick ball in the armoury.
Yes, he can still swing the ball, but batsmen can leave the ball knowing that in 3 overs someone else will be bowling!
True
In this series so far jimmy bowls 70% down the leg side, 20% overpitched, 9% half trackers and 1% corridor of uncertainty.

England cricket reminds me a bit of Moneyball. Good fun, wins matches but when it comes down to it Bazzball doesn't work against a well drilled team. It's fundamentally flawed if you can't adapt and play whats coming at you.
Australia are in a strong position to win this one as well. Deserved WTC champions.
India lost not once but twice 😂
They will again play 2025 wtc finals
Highly unfair on Aus. This English weather. Every time they come to bat it gets gloomy and every time Eng come to bat it gets bright. If Aus had enjoyed similar conditions like Eng, they could have won both tests comfortably. Eng have been outrageously lucky to even stay in the contest. Aus are the best test team in the world by a wide margin, Eng 2nd best and an aging Ind 3rd best (though Ind are the worst manager of its resources else except off-spin resources they have everything else by the plentiful; had they managed their resources better and planned and prepared well they could have won every test series since 2018 but their arrogance let them down time and again and now they are going to slide even down unless or until next generation of batters step up). Once Anderson and probably Stokes retire after the Ashes (I imagine Broad can play another year) we probably will see some changes in Eng team (for better or worse). I think Eng has plenty of quality Medium Fast English style bowlers; they won't miss Anderson or Broad that much. The biggest problem in international test cricket is how much Pak, SL & SA have deteriorated in the last 5 years.
The recent series between India and Australia was nail biting stuff. India are almost unbeatable on their pitches. And they’re pretty good wherever else they play.
How England become 2nd when they lost against Australia in Australia 4-0 and drawn against India 2-2 in their own home soil..They can only play well in England ( Even that's not true since Australia is dominating the Lord's test 😅 ). Atleast India won a test series in Australia 2021.
1) Australia by a distance
2) India
@@heretichello8253 If India managed it resources well or even manage it's future resources well, nobody can beat them in tests. Just looks at Jaiswal, Gaikwad, Gill, Tilak Varma plus Pant, Sundar, Axar. They just look all format superstars. But it's Indian test team, perennial underachievers, terrible selections and plenty of arrogance of BCCI without any vision and planning. However, I think Eng is the second best team in the world by a distance over India since the non-performing oldies (Rahane, Kohli, Rohit) are still around.
