I used to make the burnt paper scraps as a kid! A slower but maybe a bit safer option is to light an incense stick and burn the edges of paper slowly on the end. Also if you use a flame to burn paper do it in or near a sink in case things get out of hand and you need to stop a fire...

I actually journal with scrap papers like receipts, train tickets, torn paper bags, news paper and some printed pictures. I do this because I'm poor, but mostly because having limited supplies adds a fun challenge to it

If some one is scared like me to burn the paper bcz of fire u can also try ttracing the edges with black marker I just thought u can make stamp rlly easily if u have glue gun and uhm a cap u draw design there with the gun and let it dry but if u don't even have ink thing u can use ink for blue and coffee or tea seeds in warm water and use it even paint are really good
