    Actually, projects like this one make me think of blender as an interactive tool, for example UPBGE now can do so much more with such minimal tools...

    Excelent work!!
    Is there a way to create a shader to make the LIDAR points the same color as the object its touching?
    Intead of color based on the range, color based on the neareast object material
    Or any way to segment the LIDAR ?
    I'm still new to blender

      yes it possible but need make adjustments for this data transfering from mesh to points

    I see you can change the Epsilon to change the FoV, but how do I change the FoV to be exactly 90 deg, or 45 deg?

      you can make your own logic how to delete mesh, for example try to use gradient node and then compare it

    Question, why is it that mine does not work? copied everything and it still don't work, I have a tiny sphere inside of the empty. but nothing happens

      @@emilsvfx another question, with the instagram thing at the start, is it the same as this or is it different? if it is different can I get a link to it, it seems that this tutorial doesn't work. no matter how hard I try.

      @@maxi74x1 Sorry don't understand you. Tutorial is the same. In you need you can but asset and recheck have it made.

      @@emilsvfx i found the problem but not the solution. everything goes fine until i connect the "set position" node into the group output, then it turns into what is show at the mest to points node, but only 1 at the origin, not sure if its all of them or not. I hope you can help me and clarify what I did wrong. in case other people have this problem

      thanks, the geometry nodes tab is empty, even when I select the right object in the panel. Anyway I got it to work for my application. Thanks@@emilsvfx

    Bought it on gumroad, but 3.1 has all of the Nodes showing as Undefined :(

    Hej hej, amazing work. I just bought it on your gumroad. But I found that in the file there it is no way to play with the segments and rings, like you do it in the tutorial. Or did I miss something?

      tnx for informing me. strange, today will update it gumrode file. This setup was from this video czcams.com/video/P9LAGcFKbrk/video.html but i update geo node for tutorial

      @@emilsvfx Great, thanks!!! And do you know if it's possible to not just use an object but the entire collection as a target geometry. So it's not necessary to join several objets to one. I just changed the "object info" for the "collection info", but it did not work.
