In the second of a multi-part series of interviews with the cast of Birmingham Hippodrome's 2016/17 pantomime production, 'Dick Whittington', I chat with the one and only Steve 'Phil Mitchell' McFadden, who will be playing the nefarious King Rat!
We chat about a busy year professionally and personally for Steve, the differences between performing on screen and the stage, and what to expect from Dick Whittington when it opens at the Hippodrome in December.
DICK WHITTINGTON runs at the Birmingham Hippodrome from Monday 19th December 2016 to Sunday 29th January 2017.

what a gent and a actor
Brilliant actor, Steve McFadden, Mr EastEnders. Steve Owen made the mistake of trying to cross Phil in EastEnders, Phil Mitchell’s been in some scrapes over the years, but still going strong in EastEnders, over 30 years he’s been in it now
Looks a real nice bloke in real life 😊
Amazing actor
lol,
Legend
this dude is awesome
We're going to whatch him tonight as we do every year as a family tradition
Brill actor as you can tell his voice is nowhere near as gruff and angry as Phil's.
talks more like he used in eastenders during the 90s.
@@leecomber1062 True, Phil only started sounding gruff in 2000.
@@Uksoapfannah it was when he started losing weight so around 2008
Ive been in that room! Thats the Qdos lounge of the hippodrome which is the corporate lounge of the panto company. We also use this room where we have a sensory quiet room for children and adults on the relaxed performance. Im honoured to help out at this relaxed panto and also Im an access forum member for the Hippodrome!

@@jahno7154 you were probably to over enthusiastic as a fan licking his ass so he gave you a big fuck off tablet and you cried because it reminded you of when you had your lunch money stolen in school 😂🖕
@@TheReesi73 How childish are you ?
When I hear him talk he sounds like a gruffer Ed Sheeran
Mcfandan
Panto, where failed soap stars go to die and be forgotten.
What are you banging on about? Just because an actor decides to go panto doesn’t mean they’ve failed. Steve has had a successful 37-year run in EastEnders.
