    Should You Buy the Dyson V10?
    The Dyson V10 is an exceptional vacuum and offers many high-end features that other vacuums simply don’t have.
    The V10 was so popular at the time of it’s initial launch that Dyson’s founder, James Dyson, was quoted saying that the is V10 is “…why I’ve stopped developing corded vacuums.”
    It’s lightweight, cordless, and provides excellent suction power and cleaning performance.
    You Should Buy the Dyson V10 If You…
    Want a longer run time - For any cordless stick vacuum, a 60 minute run time is quite long. If you’re running on MAX mode, the run time will be shorter, but still, the time should be more sufficient for the majority of cleaning jobs.
    Want the Fluffy cleaning head - Compared to the V11 sub-models, the V10 Absolute is the only model that includes the Fluffy cleaning head. This tool is great for cleaning hardwoods.
    Want a lower price - With the launch of the V11, the price of the V10 is beginning to drop. Simple supply and demand. If you love a good deal, the V10 offers that more by providing the same high-end vacuum that it was last year for a lower cost.
    Should You Buy the Dyson V11?
    The Dyson V11 is the “latest and greatest” vacuum to come off of the Dyson showroom floor. It has some technology improvements that really shine in comparison to older Dyson models, and certainly compared to anything we’ve seen outside of the Dyson lineup.
    You Should Buy the Dyson V11 If You…
    Want a digital display screen: The digital screen on the V11 is something unique to this model and not something we’ve seen before. The screen can tell you remaining battery life and makes it easy to adjust cleaning modes as needed.
    Want stronger suction: Compared to the V10, the V11 offers stronger suction, maxing out at 185 AW. The V10 maxes out at 140 AW.
    Want intelligent suction: The intelligent suction feature makes it easy for the V11 to adjust suction power based on floor type. This feature can result in longer run times for the V11 since you won’t be wasting battery power on floor types where it’s not needed.

    I am currently in the market for one of these specific models. Your video was insightful, easy to understand, and well timed. Good job! 👍🏽 I have a large house at @ 3,400 Sq ft. I have carpets in all bedrooms and Theater but I have hand scraped wood in large areas and tile in the bathrooms. I also have tons of Return Exchange Vents throughout. I also suffer from Allergies. I also have a large Shag Rug in my Family room over wood floors. I definitely want to also use it for my vehicles. I want the BEST VALUE.
    That being said, which would you recommend?

    • @ModernCastle
      @ModernCastle  Před 3 lety

      With that setup you NEED the soft roller head. So that means either Dyson V10 Absolute amzn.to/2n8Ogx7
      OR
      The V11 Torque Drive amzn.to/2WYemD5 and add a standalone soft roller brush here amzn.to/3bKw4oj
      With delicate floors like that I would suggest only using the soft roller brush on them.

      I would say the Dyson V10 Absolute , since it includes the soft roller head.
      Unfortunately, the soft roller head is not available on the V11 in most countries. The UK is the only country I'm aware of where it includes it. But if you're in the US and many others, you'll just get the multi-surface.

    • @ModernCastle
      @ModernCastle  Před 3 lety

      It is heavier than other Dyson cordless vacuums (and many other cordless vacuums in general), but it's still very far from what I would consider heavy under any normal context.
      The V11 Outsize is the only cordless Dyson that I would consider to be somewhat difficult to handle in hand due to the size, weight, and weight distribution.

    • @ModernCastle

      As for a recommendation, for most homes I think the V11 Torque Drive (amzn.to/2WYemD5) is the right call.

    Thank you for informative video. I do have some questions as this will be my first cordless vacuum purchase.. 1) if the V10 doesn’t have a digital display telling you how much battery life you have left…does that mean that as the charging life on the v10 decreases that suction power decreases too or does it complete shut off? So In the middle of vacuuming all of a sudden your vacuum doesn’t pick up dirt as well or does it stop working at a certain percentage of battery life left?
    2) also, for the v10 absolute model that comes with the fluffy head to clean hardwood floors vs v11 which has intelligent suction..is it more convenient to have the v11 as you don’t have to attach a fluffy head to it?
    3) can the fluffy head be used to clean vinyl flooring?
    Thank you

    • @ModernCastle
      @ModernCastle  Před rokem

      1) It just shuts off when the battery is dead. Suction power does not decrease as the battery goes down.
      2) That's more of a personal preference. For me, I prefer to not have to change cleaning heads.
      3) Yes

    • @ModernCastle
      @ModernCastle  Před rokem

      That has more to do with the recency of the video rather than difference between types. All new vacuums we're testing are getting long hair, pet hair, and hair tangling tests (in addition to a bunch of other new tests). We'll be updating our old content over the next 3-6 months, but it's going to take a while to fully update everything.

    • @ModernCastle
      @ModernCastle  Před 4 lety +1

      No, the V11 Animal is not the same as the V11 Torque Drive.
      It's similar, but there are differences. Most notably, the lack of an advanced digital display.
      Costco, like many big retailers, gets their own special versions of Dyson vacuums. As a result, there may be even more differences compared to the standard models.
      Last year my mother purchased a V10 from Costo, which while it did have most of the same functionality and features as the standard V10, it included a more basic brushroll. I would expect the reason the V11 Animal's price is lower is for similar reasons (though I have not tested the version from Costco so I cannot say for sure).
      This isn't to say the V11 Animal at Costco is bad...far from it. It's still probably has all the core features and functions. However, I imagine it probably doesn't have everything the more standard SKU would include.

    Why on God's green earth would Dyson NOT include the fluffy hard floor cleaning head with the V11 is beyond comprehension. We've owned the V8 for three years now, and it's our primary vacuum cleaner we clean our entire home with. We use the fluffy hard floor cleaning head at least 5 times as much as we do the carpet cleaning head. I mean, we're a family of three, so we really have no need to vacuum our carpet every single day, but we do have two small chihuahua's and live in the dusty South West, so we do sweep our tile floors pretty much every day, or at the least we run the Dyson around our heavy traffic areas of the tile to get rid of any dusty foot prints and pet hair. I truly was interested in upgrading, as ours is about to go out of warranty, so I figured we'd just relocate the V8 to the second level of our home, and use the V11 on the main level for the heavier cleaning. However, now that I know it doesn't come with the fluffy hard floor cleaning head, which any family who has any amount of hard floors in their home will surely use that cleaning head the most, it's definitely a no sale for me. Sorry, Dyson, but you just lost a sale, and probably not only to my family, by not simply including that hard floor cleaning head with the V11. I'd buy a second V8 before I'd purchase a V11 with no hard floor cleaning head. Trust me, if you have any areas of hard floor, wood, tile, laminate, etc..., you'll use that hard floor cleaning head FAR more than you will the carpet attachment. However, the carpet attachment does a pretty amazing job on carpets, but it doesn't do a good job ob hard floors, and it would actually just end up ruining the carpet attachment by using it on hard floors.

      All valid points, Ryan. I too don't understand why they didn't include it.
