    Which Dyson is Best?
    So you’ve made it this far- still not sure which model is right for you? See quick summaries below to help make your decision easier and get to cleaning.
    I would recommend the Dyson V15 Detect to people who:
    Want to know exactly what they’re cleaning - The internal Piezo sensor is an insightful feature. In addition, it makes the vacuum smarter in how it adjusts its cleaning as well as how it displays the data right on the digital display. It also has the floor laser, which makes it easier to see finite dust and other particles on the floor. When you can see more, it’s easier to clean more.
    I would recommend the Dyson Outsize to people who:
    Want XL coverage - If you have a large area to clean and want to do it often and fast, the Dyson Outsize is a good option. It uses a brushroll that is 25% wider, has double the run time, stronger suction, and the largest dust bin. It’s basically just MORE vacuum.
    I would recommend the Dyson V11 to people who:
    Want a good value - With the launch of the V15, the V11 becomes the new value buy. It lacks the Piezo sensor and laser on the cleaning head, but still has fantastic cleaning performance and is user-friendly. I have no real qualms with the Dyson V11 and for an all-around good vacuum cleaner, it checks a lot of boxes for me.
    I would recommend the Dyson V10 to people who:
    Want a more budget buy - The Dyson V10 has a lot of the same features as the V11, like an assortment of accessories, 60-minute run time, and solid cleaning performance. The main thing you’re giving up is the digital display screen on the back, but if you’re more about performance don’t need all the bells-and-whistles, the V10 is a good option.
    Should you buy the Dyson V8?
    The Dyson V8 is a still a good vacuum… when you can find it. Over the last year or so the V8 seems less and less stocked at many retailers.
    And when it is available, it tends to be listed at odd prices that make it a tough sell when compared to other (more widely available) models.
    For most consumers, I think the V10 would be a better buy, providing 20 extra minutes of run time, in-line configuration, a larger dust bin, and upgraded tools.

    V11 Outsize is ridiculously heavy. I bought both V11 Outsize & V10 (one was for a friend. Outsize is humongous and you can't lift it with one hand to move it around without wrist/shoulder pain. It feels quite heavy too to even vacuum. Even though it has higher suction power and comes with a Torque drive cleaning head etc, due to its sheer weight I don't think it'd be used as much as we would want to (at least in my household). So I'm returning V11 Outsize and getting another V10.

    Today I tested V10 vs v15 side by side, in real world conditions. I put them both on medium. I cleaned a medium pile carpet. I split the carpet in half and for 2 minutes I cleaned one half with one and other half with the other vacuum. Then I changed the vacuums and I have doen the same thing. The result was that V10 succed the same amount of dirt as V15. The only thing is V10 is feels lighter than V15 and you fill this thing on your hand. V15 is still usable, but to vacuum with V10 is more pleasant. And all the reviews were cheering soo much for V15...

    I just added the V15 to help out my Deebot N8 Pro robot vac on tile floors with area rugs. The V15 is perfect for spot cleaning, deep cleaning high traffic areas, stairs, microfiber furniture, and places the robot vac isn't programmed to clean like closets. Find myself running the V15 before sun up in the dark to utilize the green laser to spot clean. At the V15 price, I wish it came with the flex hose, trigger lock, and some type of shoulder strap (for easier use on wooden blinds, window sills, dusty knick/knacks on shelves, or a vehicle).

Do you think it's worth it to spend 50€ more for the V12 Slim or 200€ more for the V15? Thanks!

    • @ModernCastle
      @ModernCastle  Před 2 lety +1

      For most people, it's probably not worth that extra.
      The performance difference between these models is extremely slight.
      Ultimately, it comes down to the accessories and attachments. If you'll use the extra attachments then absolutely, it could be worth it. But for many people those extra attachments aren't worth the extra.

    • @ModernCastle
      @ModernCastle  Před 2 lety

      It's an interesting idea...but one that would be hard, if not impossible, to execute. Determining how much dust has been added to a room / area / surface is subjective. Moreover, I don't think I have any areas that I could keep 100% sealed from external forces to determine a localized dust fall.

    • @lolo2lolo491
      @lolo2lolo491 Před 2 lety +1

      @@ModernCastle i understand what you mean but lets keep it simple.. i had this problem with a bagless Miele Blizzard CX1.
      But try this method with 1 small bedroom with or without bed inside it and no other furniture or people come and goes inside that room and no carpet just regular parkett or plastic floor.
      First you vacuum the room with Dyson v8 and close the door of that bedroom and check ever week up to 4 weeks to see how the dust build up and film the progress.
      Then repeat that test with v12 - v15 and compare if v8 have more dust after 3-4 weeks in the room then v12 - 15.
      If v8 have more dust in the room after 3-4 weeks or even 1 week that mean its leaks more dust or vice versa with for example v15.
      I think vacuum cleaners with bags can keep the dust much more isolated and not leak out in the air then these new fancy bagless vacuum cleaners but i hope you can prove me wrong so i can buy some Dyson modell between v8 - v15.
      I really hope you do it since i cant spend 400 - 800 dollars just like that on a vacuum cleaners that also have to replace battery on every god knows how often...

    • @ModernCastle
      @ModernCastle  Před 2 lety

      @@lolo2lolo491 In theory, that would work. In practical terms, it's just not something we are able to do. I'm sorry we're not able to do it.
      To your greater point though...you're right, bagged vacuums are going to better capture and isolate dust compared to bagless. But it's not because they are spewing that dust back into the air while cleaning. The V8, V10, V15, and basically any high end bagless vacuum is still a sealed system. Dust doesn't escape once it goes in.
      However, where dust does escape is during the emptying process. Ideally, you'd empty the vacuum outside directly into a trash can. Emptying in the trash inside and you will definitely lose some of the particulates back into the air.
      You might be interested in the new LG CordZero - moderncastle.com/lg-cordzero-all-in-one-review/

      Yes you can buy replacement battery. The batteries on the V8 can be expected to go at least 3-5 years. Sometimes they go longer, rarely will they not go at least that long. However, the V8 batteries don't seem to last as long as the newer batteries.

      V11 Outsize is the better pick if you have lots of square footage to clean (larger dust bin, larger cleaning head, 2 batteries)
      V15 is better in terms of suction and usability than V11 or V10, so if you just want the best performance, go V15

      Hard to say how long it will be until the V15 launches there, could be a few weeks, but more likely several months. If you can wait that long I think it's worth it.

      If you could sell the V10 to someone for $200-$300 perhaps so, but it's hard. The V10 is still an amazing machine even in a world with the V15.
      If it was my money, I wouldn't feel the need to upgrade.

    • @ModernCastle
      @ModernCastle  Před rokem

      V12 has slightly more suction than V10, moderately less than V11
      It's lighter weight than both V10 and V11
      In my view, V12 is functionally equal to / better than V10, albeit, also more expensive.
      V11 is heavier, but has greater suction power. So I'd say it's really a choice between V11 and V12.

    Does dyson not sell a v11 with a soft roller for hardwood floor on their website ?? I was thinking of purchasing the 11 but if it doesn't come with something for hardwood floor maybe the v15 is better for me. I tend to set up a flashlight to shine under the bed and under cabinets but having the laser built in seems awesome and will be so much easier to clean under things.

    I've owned the V10 Animal for over 3 years. The middle run time barely last 15 min. The high 5 min tops. Don't even bother with the low setting. The cyclone quit working at 2 years 2 months; the battery stopped working after 2.5 years; the charger went out at 3 years. If it wouldn't have been for my AMEX extended warranty (doubling the MF warranty) I would have thrown in in the trash. I have to clean my house one room at a time in 15 min increments to then let it charge for hours. VERY frustrating vac. I love Dyson, but it makes me nervous to drop another $700+ for it to go out in a few years. Their corded vacuum I purchased 15 years ago is still working great as a shop vac.

    Do NOT buy it unless ready to subscribe for annual battery replacement at ca. 1/4 of the initial cost! Battery warranty is only 6 months compared to 24 for the machine and dealers refuse free of charge replacement citing the exception, although battery and motor are the 2 main components (remaining is basically plastics). My battery died at month 11 after 50-60 cycles of regular home use, although the dealer said it should last for 500-600. Replacement was still refused. V10 Motorhead
