Duncan wrote this song himself. Its about someone he knows who loved someone and untill she died she hoped he would come for her but he never came, its realy sad, But this song is about hope and that is what this video is about . trying to reach for something that you want but you cant. Loving you is a loosing game is that she love him so much but she knows its a game she cant win

@@ccyehcchellnah2640 Well, it was the story that Duncan himself told at Dutch television. And it indeed IS about his feelings. His grief for his young dying friend that hoped until the day she died that her ex would come back. But he did not. Duncan had a hard time with that situation.

The story of the song
He explains:
During my education at the Rock Academy I learned that you may address a big audience without losing your own story. I went searching for stories that are moving and that mean something, from my own life or that of someone else. I found the inspiration in the story of a loved one who passed away at a young age. She lost her love, but always hoped that he would return one day. That hope I put into the song that was created then, which I christened Arcade - the words and chords came of their own volition, from the heart. That’s why it sounded, despite the variations in the song, so organic. In the creation of Arcade I received help from Joel Sjöö and Wouter Hardy, and it became not only my story but also a shared story. Arcade is a story about the search for the love of your life. It is the hope for that which seems unattainable.
After Arcade I wrote a lot of songs, but to me Arcade feels like the heart of the matter and as the beginning of my search for how I may mean something to others with my songs. Of course I have been busy for years, yet to me Arcade feels like the start of my career, I want to reach people with my music, maybe help them and give them something for along the way. In the case of Arcade I created an advise for myself, an hopefully for others as well.

Actually sounds great, but I can't assure. First of all, there are so many subscribers from other countries on Hoontamin. And in fact, we have a plan to make our own contents except reaction videos. Thanks for the subtitles. It is not an easy song, that's true. He sings about a good friend he has lost to an illness. She had an ex boyfriend, she asked that ex to come and see her as she was terminally ill. But he never showed up. It made her sad and it made Duncan sad to see her in so much pain. He wrote this song while he lived in my city. The song makes me emotional every time. And also I'm super proud of him, and the Rockacademy in my city he went to. They helped him grow with his talent. Duncan wrote the song in honor of his friend who passed away a while ago. Right up until she died,
She held onto the hope that her ex would come and visit her before she passed aways. He didn’t, and so this always lingered in Duncan’s head until he finally made this song. Duncan being naked in the video resembles one’s vulnerability.

Hi im from the Netherlands. Some background from the lyrics: Duncan said: ‘I found inspiration in the story of someone dear to me. Somebody who died at a young age - she was just forty years old. Her death had a big impact on me: it was my first big loss and it still is. The song that I wrote about this, became Arcade.- the words and chords came, at least it seemed to me, straight from the heart.’

He explained it a lot of times, and still people don't understand the story behind it. But I guess it isn't important because like poetry, a song which can be interpreted in different ways is always a good song.

The song is sad. It’s kinda like him tryna reach something he can’t. He tries to reach the surface but something always pulls him back. And that because I can’t reach you , love is a losing game. Something I can’t face or beat. But at the end he finally sees the surface. And manages to take a sneak peak of it until he still gets dragged down. It’s such a sad , but beautiful song
