I think so, too! It's a great setup when I'm out for longer periods of time. Except at certain times of the day, depending on the sun setting, you can see my silhouette. Not a pretty sight. LOL!
Hi Kym! Just went on my first car camping over night about an hour away from home. Went with my daughter , her boyfriend n 5 yr old grandkid. 0:55 They slept in their tent. I slept in my Honda Pilot w my dog.

The peeing at night was definitely the worst part of the night(4 times into pee bags from kids retired potty seat). Also my bed pad turned out to be not enough.
Congrats!! Yeah, it takes a while to get the hang of peeing in the vehicle. I actually prefer it from getting out of the SUV at night. I think the potty tent is awesome for mornings and all day, but once I'm in the SUV for the night, I don't like to get out!!! You may want to switch to bottles. Some use a coffee can. I just have to use something with a lid, because if anyone is going to spill it, it's gonna be me. LOL
I use a similar setup when tent camping so I don’t have to hike to the bathroom in the dark. The only difference being is that I combine my dish washing station with my hand washing station at the end of the picnic bench seat. Only one grey water bin to deal with.
That's how I always had it before. Washing station on my picnic table. If my privacy tent is up, I just wash my hands in the tent. I love reading how other people do these things. Thanks for sharing!!
Oh My Gosh! Now I have seen everything! This is awesome. Another commenter mentioned it blowing over in the wind. I was thinking the same thing. I might add something a bit heavy to the corners, like little sandbags, or even big rocks you find on the ground if you don't want to add more weight or take up more space in your vehicle. You think of everything...thank you for the tips and ideas!
Thank you!!!!! When I use it, I tie it down and use corner weights. It's always tied to my SUV! Just in case. 😀
The toilet paper should be positioned "under" if you have toddlers or playful pets (or raccoons?). Otherwise, it isnt necessary. Thats why hotels put it in the "over" position.🙃
YES! Under. I grew up with cats and I was programmed . . . under . . . under. I'm afraid to ask about the raccoon!!! 💙

I love the shower side, and I'm not sure I would be able to use it though. The water attracts mosquitoes and I get bit horribly. I would love a shower side though!!!!!!!!!!! So much more room to change clothes!!! Thanks!
Great set up. I have a good set up in my van but I’m thinking about an outside “bathroom” when I’m dry camping for a long period of time. You gave me some good ideas.
That's awesome, Elizabeth!! For me it's much easier, because getting dressed in my SUV is really killing my back. Now I can pee and stand up and get dressed!!! (I'm acting like I'm the first one who thought of it!)

😁🤣🤣 Usually I take care of all that stuff in the morning, but this particular morning, I was heading back to homebase and figured I'd just take care of it at home. YUK!!! I love the awning, especially without the poles. I love it leaning on the ground. I bought weights to keep it down, just in case. Thanks!

No! I was home. My SUV needed work done. I had everything pulled out. I can finally access my spare tire!!! That's one of the things that's been keeping me from traveling long distances. I'm glad everyone had a great time. 💙
Love the set up. Especially nice that you can use it to get dressed...I saw your video about how you dress inside Wanda, and it made my back hurt just watching you! Only problem FOR ME is I would be so scared getting in and out of the tent at night. I would be scared of a snake or something being there. Great video! 😊
Oh, I've thought about the snakes and spiders, believe me. That's why it's best I only use it during the day. But then again, I risk peeing on top of the closed lid in the middle of the night. Okay. Maybe we're back to the adult diapers. Nope. I won't go there again. Thank you, Anna!!!
Why not just zip the tent up all the time so snakes can't get in just a thought it is what I do with my one.
@mellanie1282 The privacy tent doesn't have a connected bottom. And this tent was gifted to me by the company, so I just make do.

I would have the potty tent under the awning, if it fits, to keep it dry, facing the car a foot or a couple feet away so no one can see in. Closer to the car door the better especially at night. Or even parallel with the car but under the awning. Or even at the edge of the awning.
I'm trying so hard to learn how to use the ropes and stakes. I don't trust my awning up all the way while I sleep. I'm afraid it will blow away, so I have to lower it in the evening to the ground. And the privacy tent won't fit. I do like it close to my SUV, but I'm still a little scared to use it at night - with all the spiders and snakes lurking out there. UGH! I won't give up until I have the perfect setup!

Have you tried putting a 3 gallon bucket w a fitted toilet seat in footwell of that seat? You would need to move the front seat up and set it in forward leaning position as much as possible. For shoulder room. Will be tight qters for your feet but may work. Does for me. I have a bigger suv, Highlander, but find I keep my feet in that footwell area anyway because of the hump over to the other footwell. I ask myself time and time again, why aren’t you using all this room available, lol. I talk a lot to myself and have always done so. Note I said 3 gallon bucket.
I have a portable collapsible toilet in my SUV. It folds up like a plate. It's very small, but when put together, it's pretty sturdy. I use that one inside the SUV. I sit it on the passenger seat and sit on it just like I would if I were sitting there reading a book. LOL The one in the tent, is definitely for outside. It is kind of bulky. I've thought about getting rid of it and just using my suv one inside the tent. I mean, why have two?

@@OutonaLimbwithKym oh yeah, same here call myself things as well. I think a 3 gallon bucket in the footwell might give you more room and privacy than sitting way up in the seat area, lol. I have a bucket within a bucket system. Okay, lol, nice video even though short. Oh, one last thing. That tent set up is tough to use out in the windy areas. I have one as well and only use it when I have a covered picnic table w my campsite. Which is common here in the NM state parks. More things I could say about it all but already long winded enough for a comment. 😁
@@katpow5437 I need my floor board empty in front of that seat. I sit there a lot - my desk is the left of me. My getting ready for bed stuff is in front of me. I need it for me feet. 😁and it's rare that I ever really need a potty for that. Yeah, I have to be extra careful with the wind, but I'm getting better with my ropes and knots. I would love a covered picnic area!!!!

Oh, I'm okay. The people around me are usually my friends. And if they wanna shadow show, so be it. At night, I enter with a light and then turn it off when I'm ready - just in case. Nighttime shadows are different!! LOL

But the reason why I write to you is this, to eliminate the small inside your car you need to use Baking Soda or white vinegar when you go to clean, for mosquito bite buy Aromatherapy "lemongrass oil , eucalyptus, or any coconut oil derivatives, put it in yours legs and arms, and if you get Camphor tables keep 2 or 3 inside your car, Mosquito hates those smells, hope you don't , All my Love, Tammy

it doesn't matter which way i place it. It is only there for appearances, for guests really since I dont want to waste time changing the roll EVER. I use the one on the counter.

Truth. It was a bear!!! First time I was so mad, I almost threw it in the lake! Then I watched a CZcams video on it and it worked. I practiced a few times. Now it's so easy.
