- I decided to see just how hard I could make vanilla Minecraft, and this is what I ended up trying! The goal was to create a difficult challenge that was different than the typical stuff I like to do (i.e. play RLCraft), but also still be fun to play. Obviously what I find fun isn't for everyone, but for my fellow hardcore gamers, this was very fun for what it was!

Also, for those of you who were asking questions about the inclusion of the offhand slot:
YES - Offhand would add more difficulty, but only marginally, and with the huge drawback of turning the game into Walking Simulator. I played Walking Simulator for and hour and said haha, and have never touched the game since nor do I plan on it, as the only difficulty was having the mental fortitude to keep holding w.
NO - Offhand does not make the challenge 2 slots. The offhand slot isn't part of the inventory, so if I disabled it for the reason that it counted as another slot, my armor and crafting slots would have also needed to be disabled. But that was never my intention, I just wanted to do 1 inventory slot.
In the end though, it wasn't really a matter of the technicality of it being a slot or not that made me leave it enabled, it was just a matter of making a new challenge that was fun, difficult, and didn't REQUIRE excessive mindless grinding to complete. :)

for future challenges where you need mobs to despawn, try turning simulation and render distance to their lowest settings

If you are looking for a challenge try half a heart hardcore blaze and caves. It’s very difficult but also pretty fun.
Next thing you know you're playing vanilla minecraft, and people question why you're paranoid of taking damage, and dumping your items when you craft.

one time i did a challenge where i didnt use armor, and now i never use armor
at 9:30 when he looked down, saw the lava, and in a panic jumped in after catching himself for a moment on some Wile E. Coyote type shit, I died a little inside

Not really, with a single inventory slot you can still carry 64 blocks of gold, which would be 19.3 tonnes, considering he's using the offhand slot that could double to 38.6 tonnes. To people who don't understand metric, that's about 27 Toyota Corollas.

The 1.20.2 mob attack reach calculation changes would make me go crazy.
The 11:10 Enderman would have been fatal since it was changed from 1.5->3.0 vertical reach.
You can really feel it with zombies since they are so common and you'd want to be close enough to jump crit.
At first it was really weird to get used to it, but after so many attempts I sorta got the hang of it XD
But ngl I for sure thought that enderman was the end for me. Didn't know about the reach change! I just knew it felt unnatural that I didn't get hit lol
When I saw the cover, I imagined it as "Oh sh*t, this is going to be difficult, let's just do it out of curiosity" and "can't he use bows? Well, he's probably using snowballs or eggs." You literally proved me wrong in the first two minutes. I didn't even know about it. How were you going to destroy the crystals at that moment, since I had forgotten at that moment that the height of the crystals varied the damage they did to you, and I can only tell you that these 44 minutes were very epic of how you went through this challenge. while you continue learning from your mistakes, GG, you deserve it
This seemed incredibly hard. Hats off to you. Amazing run. Dont forget to go out and have some fresh air after all that struggle.

If I may, just a small tip : you can sneak + click to open the inventory of a chest boat, donkey with a chest, Lama with a chest, ect, without getting on them.
The reason the Piglin shot you on attempt 7 whilst you had gold armor, was because you opened the chest in front of it, which makes them angry, regardless of armor.

Honestly you have my biggest respect for doing this, especially the nether, with shaders on. I find I CANNOT do challenges with shaders because the difficulty seeing through shader-shadow has me SO stressed T_T

Ur honestly a saint. I would NOT have the patience for this and my pc would be in pieces by the end.
Honesty i do think you should have disabled off hand too, giving your self one inv slot makes the game more difficult by making you have to focus on resourse management, while no off hand is tedious, everything you can do with the regular amount of inv slots you can eventually do with one inv slot, so its no less tedious than disabling off hand would be, though regardless this was a cool challenge
I thought the same thing until I actually tried the run a few times. The footage of me running back and forth transporting items is cut from the vid, elytra thing would be really janky since I wouldn't be able to hold trapdoors and fireworks at the same time, the end bridge would have taken around 2 hours instead of a half hour, etc.
And I thought fighting Cynthia back in Pokemon Platinum was tough

Man when you died to that end crystal it made me so mad. If you just place a block to block your feet it deals significantly less damage. I feel like you could’ve saved yourself loads of time just by preparing more.

But either way, I likely would've died to the dragon flying into me anyways on that run since with the water bucket method that happens 9/10 times.

This is amazing. As a person who speedruns and loves the game this is the best challenge video I've seen in ages. It was all very meticulously planned and you found creative solutions to the problems that presented themselves. I also really appreciated the shaders as a viewer, because this challenge would potentially be easier with say fullbright, hitboxes permanently on and f3 open a lot. Amazing video and viewing experience overall. New subscriber earnt

great video, also would like to recommend better than wolves mod pack for minecraft if you are looking for difficult challenges, it is personally harder than rlcraft to me
If u make or trade for fire resistance potion, it will make your nether run much easier
And if u prepare more in overworld, your nether run will be easier. If i was u, i would find a village, trade for good armor in overworld and brew some potion, tame a mule for extra inventory slot, make god sword to make the time spent in nether shorter. People go to nether to speed up the progress but i don't think challange like this should do "speed" thing

play Better Than Wolves with MEA
If you want to try even harder mods, you could try Better than wolves or some of its addons. It's an old mod, and probably the hardest or one of the hardest mods ever.
I've looked into better then wolves quite a bit, as well as MEA. My biggest complaint with the mod is that the difficulty comes with just adding recipes and lowering movement speed, mining speed, etc. and doesn't add enough interactive gameplay to balance it out. I don't really find the pack difficult as much as I find it grindy. (Not just an opinion exclusive to BTW, SevTech: ages and some skyblocks packs have the same problem.)
MEA is cool and down my ally since it comes with fun and interactive gameplay, but it's just an addon for BTW and imo RLCraft has better mobs/mob variety anyway so I'd rather just play that.
That's all just my opinion tho, I still respect ppl like TdLmc for showcasing the mod well and being really good at it, but as far as the hardest modpack title goes? Definitely not imo. RLCraft has 1000 more ways to randomly die you have to be mindful of at all times, content that you can never out-scale, and it's MEA equivalent, the Hardcore Config (HCC) is easily the hardest pack in existence. Again though, just my opinion XD
(sry, I have a strong opinion when it comes to how people define 'difficulty' :P)
TL;DR - Its a little overrated in terms of difficulty and too grindy for my taste. MEA is probably the 2nd hardest mod I've ever played/seen though.
@@Calebrune3 tdlmc calls it the hardest mod just cuz he defines difficulty not off randomness; a lot of random ways to die in rlcraft but overall the actual gameplay of mea is probably harder just semantics of what difficculty means

Also yeah, I totally get what your saying. But I still think RLCraft is more difficult even by that definition 😅
But yeah either way, just semantics and it doesn't REALLY matter, I mainly just don't really find waiting around punching stone, grinding basic resources, or eternally trading a villager for an 'ok' weapon and armor all that fun or interactive. (I also don't like playing Runescape all that much for the same reason, but watching other people play it is still fun!)

Epic Seige Mod is a good way of making the game more challenging wile not making it completely miserable to play.
28:14 hostile mobs don’t spawn in the biome because it’s coded that way not the mycelium. You can replace it with grass or any other blocks and won’t get spawns

I swear, ive only ever seen a couple of regular skeletons in the nether before, and you seem to find them all the time. Ive seen more jockeys than regular skeletons in the nether
gg ! I think there are not "glitched" enderman, I guess they can only teleport to a place they could reach by walking so if there is a gap or if it is too low, it doesnt teleport. However when you got down, it now sees it as "possible to reach" and teleport... Its just a idea, I didn't find anything on the wiki

btw the ender dragon still takes lava damage so u could put lava where the dragon perches then find some where safe to stay until it dies
This isnt really about the video but at the biginning when you said you like difficult games, if you are interested in a recomendation i would highly recomend "Noita" a finnish roguelite that is incredibly difficult and in depth
I have Noita! I still haven't gotten to play it much, but I love rogue-likes and roguelites a ton.
@@Calebrune3 noita is a fun one for sure, and its always fun to find a fellow roguelike enjoyed. Some other good ones are shattered pixel dungeon, peglin, and loop hero.

There is this mod called mobs rule, basically way more mobs, smarter mobs and some other things, I think a hardcore of that mod would be reaaly fun

If you are holding Sneak and try to ride a chest boat / donkey, you open their inventories directly. This could have saved you a death when you suffocated from the donkey, and also when you were scared of the drowneds in the run you were attached to
