  • Przemyśl is one city in Poland that all tourists should come and see first hand. It's by far one of the top 5 places to visit. Super underrated in my opinion. Three hours from Krakow and near the Ukrainian border, this city is the gateway to the south eastern part of Poland.
Join me as I take you on a walking tour of this historic city. In this first part of four, we will check out the train station, the Austrian-Hungarian influenced buildings, and old town. While we traverse old town, we will visit four different churches and check out several monuments on our way to the San River and my hotel.
This is a great introduction to this epic city. You can get an idea on places to go and things to see. Trust me, it's a great place. Let me know what you think.

Przemyśl is the second-oldest city (after Kraków) in southern Poland, dating back to the 8th century.[4] It was the site of a fortified gord belonging to the Ledzianie (Lendians),[5] a West Slavic tribe. In the 9th century, the fortified settlement and the surrounding region became part of Great Moravia. Most likely, the city's name dates back to the Moravian period. Jan Długosz states that the founder of the city was Prince Przemysław and the name of the city comes from his name. According to legend, the prince went hunting and in the place where he hunted the bear founded a settlement with a bear in the coat of arms.

I've been there twice helping W.C.K. make food for, & feed, Ukrainian Refugees. Both Kraow & Przemyśl are BEAUTIFUL!!! The underground tunnel, the bunkers, the history, scenery, fog in the mornings off the river after rain, so much history & beauty. Citizens are very hospitable. Police, not so so much. But worth a visit. I miss being there.

    Hello Jonathan,
Thank you for this video about my „beloved Home”!
I was born and had lived in this city for 18 years. I’m living in Canada now, in Ontario (33 years!) and I’m always home sick!
Your knowledge of the polish history is amazing! Your interest in this subject is worth of the great admiration!
I’m so happy that person from other ends of the earth found this “Subcarpathian pearl”! This city, is over one thousand years old with very interesting history, is dearest to my heart! I’ve spent many years in Warsaw (Warszawa), and many others: polish and in other countries, but I’m proud of being “native Przemyślanka”, my last time in Home was in 2019. I want to go there one more time in my life…
I’m glad you have shown many beautiful churches; Przemyśl is also know as “ little Krakow”, because of the amount of the churches….
The world is really very small , this polish proverb is very true!
    All the the best! Christie

Will definitely go back again in the future. and hope you are able to do that same.

Some people translate Przemyśl as "think over" it is more as "think twice" before you do it or "reconcider", "have another good look" to be precize. There is reason why Polish language is so hard, we can very quickly figure out if person was rised in Poland or not.
