    I disagree with your charging opinions. Electric cars are much better to refuel then gas cars when you can charge at home, because I am able to refuel in the driveway and it takes 5 seconds to plug in my car not 5 minutes to refill it and possibly smell like gas afterwards. In two and a half years I've only DC fast charged my car three to five times for real (DC charged more than that but it was playing around not because I had to) you're acting like people are going to be DC fast charging daily. That's not the case. Home charging only 90-95% or more of the time

U.S. sales of the Mustang have been dropping year by year, it's just a matter of time until its discontinuation. • @scottjentsch
    @scottjentsch Před 2 lety +11

    You must not have had a choice about the car you were given to review. The GT Performance Edition should have been the GT, which would have given them a way to create a higher trim level that had more performance for those that think that autocross, tracking, and quarter-mile times are the most awesome things. This model has the ugly rims, doesn't have the panoramic roof for more headroom and perceived interior room, isn't a PE so it doesn't have Magneride shocks for a better ride, and sits lower than the Premium so there's less ground clearance and a lower seating position (which is often why people buy SUV's and crossovers). There's very little reason to choose the GT over the Premium or the GT-PE. You literally picked the worst model in the lineup!
    Your complaints about the name are old. Give it a rest. It wasn't all that clever when it started, and here we are years later, and it just makes you look foolish and biased.
    Given the large block of time you spent complaining about tuning Sirius XM stations, you could at least have shown if/how the voice activation could have tuned your beloved Chill channel vs. hand-tuning it. I've never paid for Sirius XM because it's not worth anything per month, much less the prices they want for it, so I can't feel your pain, but watching you grouse about tuning to a radio station was painful enough.
    There are plenty of things to push Ford on to improve in the Mustang Mach-E. Unfortunately, you spent so much time on insignificant things that you must not have had enough time to compile useful criticism that would help Ford improve and help your viewers decide for themselves whether or not this was worth checking out. A disservice all around. Please stop the griping, though, it's painful to watch. I won't stick around for it, and you've gotta wonder how your analytics might do without it.

    Ordinarily it would be a definite Lease from me. However, from a financial standpoint, I say buy. Because, the market is so hot right now that if you get tired of the thing after 6 months to a year, you can just trade it in on something else for top dollar. IF you Lease, you are stuck in a financial bind of paying for it longer than you might want to be. Otherwise, yeah, Lease is usually the way I would go for flipping a NEW vehicle in the short term.

      @brianprice1531 Před 2 lety +1

      100% agree. These things are getting marked up anywhere from $5k to $15k and with I’m guessing the market will be constrained with supply for quite awhile longer so you should have no problem selling it and getting your money back in the short term….assuming you don’t pay a $15k markup! They have a “Ford Options” financing plan for just for the MachE and Lightning that operates like a lease but you get the full tax credit instead of Ford getting it with a lease.

Also, they complain about how easy about getting gas is vs the charging stations, but if your going for an electric car, odds are, your doing it for a few reasons and one is probably your wanting to get away from fossil fuels. So, I could care less about any gas problem, especially the prices.

    Couple of thoughts, batteries are batteries to a certain point- by that I mean as they get closer to a full charge the charge rate has to decrease. I wonder how much of an oversizing game the manufacturers play or should play for a good consumer experience. So if the fast rate is to 80% and the car is rated at 100 kW/hr battery but was actually 125 kW/hr it could have more opportunities to rapid charge to “full” at 100 kW/hr more frequently and possibly keep that rating for longer as the battery ages.
    The rear hatch door handle being not an integral piece is likely due to the handle construction. I’m guessing there’s a metal hoop connected to the hatch and shrouded with plastic half shells to keep the material similar in color, texture..so some gorilla doesn’t yank it from its moorings by doing gorilla type tricks like ratchet strapping the gate down on something large purchased at the big DIY box stores. 😂

I was able to drive on a flat tire to the nearest tire shop when I hit a curb with my hybrid. I think run flats can go about 50 miles as long as the speed is relatively low. I like Ford's method of opening the door more than my Model 3. The model 3/Y is almost impossible if your hands are full. At least with this, you only need a finger free. I carry a lot of tools and things for work and it's annoying to have to put stuff down first.
    Of course just a regular handle that you pull would be best, I'm sure they could think of a way to make the aero negligible on one.
    The Model S method would be OK if it was reliable.

    • @MLHunt

      Agree. Electromechanical complication aside, it's a very good door opening mechanism once you get used to it. I think there's an argument to be made that it's unnecessarily complex, but I think it's less inherently subject to problems with icing over than designs that recede flush into the door. And I also think a lot of people just dislike it because it's different.

    If Ford don’t “reinvent” the wheel (like GM tried with the last/current interior on their pickups) they get crucified by all the unreasonable expectations that drive prices sooo far up!!! We are our own worst enemies!!
    It’s interesting we are seeing a full 180 from Roman from when he was in love with the Teslas,,,,. He is almost anti-electric (EV) and is this to appease the high number of ICE vehicle fans still?? Is it his real opinion? Who knows anymore. To each their own. I tend to agree somewhat with most of what was said.
    The name,,,,,,,, “Mustang” get over it. The complaining has been beat to death and Ford hasn’t changed it yet!! I’m sure it WILL change when they decide to electrify the actual Mustang. The Porsche naming regarding the Turbo. I trashed that idea and was criticized by TFL for my opinion!! It was just accepted and I was basically told to get over it,,, hahaha. Hypocrisy. We are all guilty of it. I am as guilty as the next guy, I agree, but I’m not a series of extremely public CZcams channels!! Hahaha.
    This is a pretty interesting vehicle, but I think it’s a bit of a mistake by Ford. The other versions of the Mach E are fine, but this GT is a bit of a swing and a miss,,,,, it needs to have better attention to detail as Roman has pointed out. I definitely agree with that. The interior room?? I’m fine!! Hahah I’m 5’8” tall!! I don’t know what they are talking about!!! Hahaha.
    The screen,,,, Roman thought it was great in the Tesla when it was trendy for him,,,, I think it was crap back then as well!! The move to big screens is highly distracting,,,,, it’s a danger that the manufacturers may switch from after someone has an accident where they can prove the design was the problem in the accident vs driver error. One ruling against one manufacturer and they all will change out of fear!
    Oh well. I would not buy this. We had a Jaguar I-Pace and love it kinda. Drive etc fantastic, range anxiety, charging,,, ughhh. Now my wife has a Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe and loves it!! She is always around 69-72% electric use only. That’s awesome and we live about 5 miles from the nearest town. The performance in hybrid mode,,,,,, hell yeah!! Is so very close to the 392 Wrangler V8,,,,, nice!
    She is getting a Grand Cherokee 4xe and I’m keeping the Wrangler. I have installed the lift kit and tires/rims already! She wasn’t happy,,, but is now ok with it as she likes the look so much. She is 5’ tall only so getting in or out sucks,,,,,.
