The change interval mentioned cannot be correct. There are so many reports about failures that happened at half this interval!
Didn’t Ford update it?

Hi @jacoe2159, yes, the failures are known but have nothing to do with the quality of the timing belt. It has a lot to do with the regular oil change interval prescribed by Ford. Unfavourable influencing factors such as short-distance driving, a lot of city traffic or increased ethanol content in the fuel (E10) are minimised by special additives, these additives are in the oil and are consumed. Therefore, regular oil changes with the oil approved by Ford annually/20.000km are mandatory.
