Sponsored by Liene. Canon didn't have a chance...
But how long will you get ink and paper for the liene? The most photo printer ink and paper vanished after 2 years from the market and then it's useless.
Not on canon selphy because they use same ink and paper through all Modells since years
Dude your overview of these products is top notch. Thanks for this!
Glad you found it helpful!!!
feels like a saga, first found the original comparison video, later the update one for the liene m200 and now this one. Just found your channel and i'm quite impressed. Keep it up! :)
Nice corridor hat btw :)
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Finding myself coming to your channel more and more ❤loving your vids and thanks for what you do
Glad you have found my videos enjoyable
Excellent review! And I just ordered the Liene!
Chris! Man! I couldn't wait because I thought your review would take a little longer, and I went out and bought the Selphy 1300 on Friday. Of course, your video would come out just after I bought it. Haha!
First of all, I didn't even know there was an app, let alone two. That's how well I read the manual. I've been taking photos on my Nikon, transferring them to my computer to edit, then putting them on a thumb drive and bringing them to Wal-Mart to print. So for me personally, I was looking to be able to plug in the thumb drive to a printer instead of going to WallyWorld. I very seldom print anything from my phone and tend to have bad luck getting anything BlueTooth/wifi to work. So for me, being able to plug in an SD card or thumb drive was really what I needed.
I also don't think I'd, personally, take the printer traveling. So leaving it stationary on my desk doesn't bother me too much. I hadn't thought about the dust issue until you mentioned it, but it's a good point for sure. I have my printer sitting on top of the tray when not in use, but the open space is facing out, I think I'll turn it around to it's more against my film fridge to help guard against the dust and hair.
I'm glad you rated it so highly. I've only been able to test one photo so far, been busy, but I was worried that I'd watch your review and hear that it was the worst printer of them all! The Liene wasn't an option for me, I can't seem to find it for sale in Canada, so Canon was next on my list. I'm glad that you rate the quality of the Canon prints highly, it makes me feel better about buying it before the review!
Thanks for the awesome and in-depth video!
Imagine doing a “in depth review and comparison” and being non biased, when the video is sponsored by what you’re comparing it with….
Credibility lost within the first minute of the video.
Hey What type of background are you using for the video? I love the color.
Are you doing a comparison between the liene m200 and the canon cp1500?
The first time I've ever gotten excited about a printer.
Hey Chris. Are there any other paper sizes or for example self-glueing Sticker paper (Like for other printers...) for the Liene printer? Maybe from third Party deliverants...? Short answer would be great. Appreciate it. Best regards from Germany, Markus
You should compare them by first converting the image to CMYK colorspace, and downsizing it to the proper resolution of a 4x6 print @ 300dpi. That will give a true 1:1 comparison without any automatic resizing / color space changing algorithms effecting the results.
Okay but the white boarder is really cool to me. Reminds me of vintage snapshots people got made back in the 50s
This is true! I like the borders just not the unevenness
How is the app? How small can i resize my pictures? Is the liene app the only one that work for it?
sorry if i missed you saying this but the canon selphy - my camera has wifi so could i connect it to the selphy and print photos as i go? what would the best route be when trying to instantly print photos for guests in a photobooth style service? i see other companies with fancy machines that have cameras and printing all in one but i’m not there yet hhahah
I was very unlucky to have two Liene M200 with the same problem, it shows OFFLINE even when the wifi its connected, The second unit did work the first time then same issue. I try the support on Liene's website and it was terrible, they haven't reply my emails in days and the telephone goes to a random call center :(
Canon definitely has their signature color built into this printer.
Do they work connected to laptop, i wanna send RAW format to a photo printer.
I would consider getting the Liene but they blocked international shipping so...
Why is there no show of both photographs on canon and leine of the dark head shot.
canon apps works perfect for me . 2 apps canon print , and canon selphy for edit and do multiple photos in one paper. works perfet and lag free on my 8500 photos gallery on my s20+
Quick question, I use the Canon for a DIY photobooth I offer with my Dj services but this past Saturday it would not connect to my iPad and it began to print super slow. Would you recommend this as a faster printing option? TIA!
I’m thinking to do the same thing with a photobooth too. What’s the normal print speed tha you notice?
Aww Paco is precious!
That’s my boy!!
Hello.....quick question....can I use my existing generic 4 X 6 glossy photo paper? Or do these dye sublimation printers use dedicated proprietary paper? Thanks!
I do believe it has to be specific paper
I've got the Selphy and really happy with it. BTW the Canon battery is rated at 1290mAh.
Oh nice!
You've help me make a decision. I'm a grandma away from husband, children, grandchildren, and friends caring for me 95 yr old mom. I need to have pics instantly. I'm going for the Canon. I may get the Liene later. Good review. ThankU
Can I print any size photo circle oval 20 mm size
hye, please do compare cp1300 and cp1500
Thanks for telling me it was borderless and those are TABS
I have the Canon. The only thing I have issues with is the tray design, other than that it does a good job. I mostly use it by putting photos onto SD card and then printing, it's quicker that way if you have more than a couple of photos to print.
It is fast at that. I like have options
@@JustAnotherChris which one do you recommend
Thanks for the thorough review of the Liene and Canon Selphy, Chris! My company is planning on using the Liene for a festival activation in the coming months, and I wanted to know if it's possible to use the Canon Selphy ink cartridge with the Liene Photo Printer? The ink cartridges look the same, but we don't want to take any risks that might damage the printer.
The paper works however the cartridges are not interchangeable unfortunately
When the print flaps are torn off, does it have super clean edges or is it little bit rough?
No not really
Do you know if you can use selphy paper sheet with the liene? What does it do, bad quality, wrong size?
I tested in in another video. Yes you can BUT the film/ink cartridge does not fit. Only the paper is interchangeable
Or build the battery itself. 12v Batterie + step up converter to 12v + plug. I have a 6000 mAh with that
Dude. Just say it. You work for liene. No other channel besides yours has that brand printer in any top ten on CZcams. You can’t be serious when you say that it’s a good option when no one besides you recommend it.
So, what's a good option? Thank you
Hi, do you need a special photo paper or can you print on different papers? I don't want to pay international shipping for the paper, it would be great to buy it locally but they don't sell those here. Thanks in advance to anyone who may answer
You have to use special paper and their cartridges
Hi between kodak dock plus and Canon CP1300 which should i buy? Thanks
I would go with the Canon
Thanks for the reviews, but seems unfair to compare two products when the video is being sponsored by one of the manufacturer of one of the products 😂
Also , pretty obviously that you’re a definitely a Liene fan boi, nothing wrong with that, but pretty easy to see this review is biased.
Not a paid sponsor just supplying the units. My thoughts and opinions are my own
Which one is best at rendering black and white images?
Both are great
Hard to trust a review where the reviewer has already made up his mind. Not really a review just an advertisement
Hmmm how so?
Any thoughts on the SELPHY CP 1500?
Haven't used it yet
I'm using Canon Selphy CP1300. But in my oppinion, this printer Liene (aka Xiaomi Mijia 1S ) is the best portable printer. Chinese brand understood exactly the term of "portable printer" include its accessory such as travel adapter, paper tray with magnetic at bottom ect... and their design know how to prevent dust get into the printer after a long time usage.
How small can i make my images?
People on any printer is to get ink and paper after some years. Most vanished from the market and make tge printer useless
Phew, I don’t have to quickly cancel my Liene order on Amazon. 🙂
I do think being able to print from an SD card would be cool though…
Yeah that feature is cool but I think for most people these days their going to be having most of their photos on their phones.
@@JustAnotherChris yes and not
Can I connect my dslr camera to this and print real time?
Well you can put the SD card in but that’s the only way that I know of
Mmh the selphy app on android is really fast and no slowdown
I am looking forward to the CP 1500 vs Liene comparooh...
Any Idea when that will happen?
Probably won’t be doing that
@@JustAnotherChris Giddy - UP son
@@JustAnotherChris may I inquire why? I was looking at the 1500 at first, but decided to check out the 1300. Thanks for this review btw
Nice dog :D
He’s the best!
could you please compare canon to kodak dock plus ??
Hmm that’s an easy one though….get the canon. Plus I already did a Kodak dock review
@@JustAnotherChris thank you
6:36 polaroid hi-prints come with 0. I will return two units I am not impressed with the print quality and each print is 0.85$
For everyone considering to buy cp1300, think twice. It makes line on every print. 15mm from the top. Can be seen on "motel" picture comparison. This line will be on your every print.
This doesn't really feel like a canon selphy cp1300 review ... it's a bash + liene commercial. I don't think separate battery prices deserved 1/3 of this video and I don't understand why anyone would get that animated about it only coming with 5 instead of 10 stock photos o.O
Is this better than normal inkjet?
Depends on your use case
@@JustAnotherChris i mean for printing photos on glossy paper
Well you can only print up to 4 x 6 photos with this printer and an inkjet you have a variety of sizes so it just depends on what your needs are.
@@JustAnotherChris i mean money wise which is better?
I’m sorry I can’t give you the answer you’re after. It really just depends on you. Are you going to print a few photos a month are you gonna print 2000 photos a month? Are you going to use your phone or you gonna use a camera or you gonna use an SD card are you gonna use a USB drive. Are you going to print black-and-white, are you going to print color, What size a photo are you printing,Are you looking for a high end professional high dpi quality prints, do you have a preference on paper type. The list goes on. If you want something that’s easy to use get this printer. If you want some thing with a little more range and flexibility on types then get an inkjet.
I like the info but the obvious shill for Leine in both videos is annoying af
Because it’s actually better
nice to have a fresh look of the cp1300 in 2022. i was looking to buy this, but if it really takes a minute to wait for folders and another to scroll one single column down inside the folder, it's definitely not suitable for today's standards. what a shame that companies release their dog shit softwares never to update again, regardless of industry, photos, games, whichever.
As for the software I haven’t used it in a while there could a chance that it was just a bug and it’s been fixed now.
I’ve watched a few review videos to figure out if this type of printer is for me vs getting a small inkjet; I find the die-sub printer concept intriguing, I do remember having used one years ago in college (the teacher checked the used roll to see if there were any unauthorised printing). One thing is they only use 3 colours (plus a varnish), and obviously you use all colours no matter what, inc if you print B&W prints, which I like to do. I don’t actually need to take it with me anywhere, though if I do, I have no issues with the Canon size, so the battery issue no biggie. I got an Instax Wide printer for portability, it gives that Instant Film vibe. Incidentally, in my search, I found Fuji has a printer only available in Asia (with the very Asian-sounding name PrinCiao), very small and compact with storage for the paper tray, it seems aimed at their Instax market. Maybe they want to push their Instax printer more in the West. At any rate, like the one you’re pushing, it isn’t available here, so it’s an easy choice if I go that route. The other important factor for me is easy availability if paper and cartridge refills. Also the reason Instax is preferable to some other pocket printers.
What did you end up with? I’m looking into the same. I was given one for my birthday and wondered if I should get a printer instead
I'm not OCD, but I play it daily!!!
Haha nice
the Canon battery nonsense is a big drag
😁😇😫
You loose too much hairs Man! Ok. I would buy L. but they don't sell them in Europe (?!) or maybe only in Poland so... IT will be Canon
I have a cat and 2 dogs sooooo this house is a hair zone! Haha
Hp gives you 80 photos for $26. That’s cost effective. With better photo quality
I did a comparison video and there was a drastic difference in my opinion
Your cannon is defective. Send it back.
Really noticeable who's sponsoring this. At least try to be slightly unbiased.
