*THIS IS WHAT DRIVE TO SURVIVE SHOULD HAVE BEEN.*
Should have been, but Mercedes keep out the Netflix camera's.
Exactly it's intense, without edits
Yes but how would we know about Lando and Carlos hating each other???
Drive to Survive doesn't care about the real fans of the sport
Ya I get where you're coming from but Netflix is targeting casual viewers and new ones as well. You first have to be invested in it so they try to make it dramatic in order to get people invested. It's first a business then its about the fans in Netflix's view, not the order way around.
F1 showing Netflix how it's done..
I think people who watch on Netflix are not all F1 fans, so its fair for them to present in a more simpler fashion on netflix. I remember in the last season they had to spend like 5 minutes just to explain whats a slipstream for the race at Sochi.
True!!!
Netflix is some friction drama

When do we get the strategic masterclass of Monaco?

I love when Lewis said "Might not have any tyres left" and sound frustrated a bit, Bono giving him the encouragement by saying "Verstappen will have less", and then Lewis with a fighting spirit saying "he definitely will". No one talking about how Ham passed him 6 laps earlier then Tactics estimated. Unbelievable team, unbelievable driver.

Redbull after French GP:
-Hold my Red Bull.
Really cool to see the mind games going as well behind the scenes, with Mercedes calling Lewis in incredibly late and telling the pit crew to stay seated so that Red Bull doesn't catch wind of their strategy.
But that's not what mind games are. Mind games are saying or doing something for no other reason than to get into your opponents head and make them second guess themselves and get the mental edge over them. Telling the pit crew to stay seated is simply deception, so that they didn't show their hand and give away their strategy, like you said.
Exactly!!!!! Masterly.
@@dylanfarnum4121 you must be fun at parties mate

Incredibly brave from Leonardo on the strategy engineering because it genuinely looked like Lewis could've overtook max that same lap he boxed in
Yeh agreed. I'm pretty sure Lewis was going to overtake max. He was closing the gap and once the Mercedes has clean air, it's a different animal. But this just ensured it even more.
I think it's amazing to see how many strategists there are working together.
Yeah man, we don t have Brazzilians in the grid anymore, but it was a fantastic job by Leonardo da Silva, probably Brazzilian guy, Proud of him
@@supaahflyy many people in their hq probably work on simulations
If Hamilton had gotten by Red Bull would surely do the 2 stop
@@SkillzorZ021 this is correct. Hamilton could have overtaken Max instead of pitting, and most likely Lewis would have still won the race, but then Max could have boxed and most likely would have caught up to Lewis, and then Lewis would have had the older tires and Max would have been able to push harder and perhaps gotten back in front to win. With this strategy, it ensured that Max wouldn't pit because his only hope was to stay far enough ahead that Lewis wouldn't be able to catch him before the race ended. Obviously Lewis did catch him, overtook him, and then nobody was going to catch Lewis regardless of how new their tires were because there was only a few laps left until the checkered flag. This strategy was genius because 1. No one saw it coming, especially Red Bull, and 2. It forced Verstappen's hand and locked him into a 1 stop strategy regardless of what the team planned to do or wanted to do, they had no choice. Brilliant strategy and perfect execution.
Seeing it this way man, you realize how much courage and just how granular these calls are. When they work you you look like gods, but when they don’t you look like buffoons.
Who’s here after Redbull did this to them back in Paul Ricard?😂

Aaandddd this is what Lewis is talking about when he thanks everyone back at the factory. They’re just as involved in the race as the people at the track
And I guess that’s why Lewis got upset at Monaco judging on the poor decision they made right after this beautiful 2 stop strategy.
@@frankielight2696 he saved the tyres so he could undercut but Merc for some reason pitted him before everyone else. I can understand his frustration. All the people hating on him for this have absolutely no reason to do so. Sure he could've saved the strong words for later but he really was frustrated.
@@PaarthJha And by undercut it usually means he has to pit before everyone else to gain advantage by having a fresh and harder compound that’s going faster than a worn softer compound. The problem was they pitted him too early that other’s softs were still faster than his hard compound. I don’t understand which set of tyre you mean he saved because Q3 got red flagged early and he probably didn’t get to use the Q3/race soft tyre much and he definitely didn’t use hards for his Q2. Saving tyre is not an option for undercut because you have to smash the first stint to gain time and pit early for your second stint. And he has to push on the second stint to stop others over cutting him. So idk why you said he saved his tires to undercut. Maybe you meant over cut
@@blackbee_v8 And having F1 in your name doesn’t mean you understand the sport by agreeing on his beautiful opinion on how undercut works

This shows that timing is everything in F1.
And that it's nothing to scoff about when people hear there's like 50 people back home in Brackley on a race weekend monitoring the timing charts and team radios. It takes a team effort for someone to realize that 'hey if we 2 stop, we could undercut'. Takes a whole team and for Lewis to execute the plan. And that's why he deserves to be a 7 time world champion, hate when people say it's all the car, like yea, the car does help, but Lewis had to put in every lap without error to make the plan work.
