Nice chat. I agree that KL is a better hub, a better place to base yourself. Bangkok and other places in SE Asia are great for short vacations. And you can get to all those places directly and very cheaply from KL using AirAsia. I really like your walk and talk format. Do you just use your phone for your filming? What kind of device (selfie stick?) do you use for holding your phone/camera while you walk around? Cheers!

Thailand is a great place to rrelax and have fun. But if u did that every day u might not appreciate it as much. Malaysia is a nice place to focus on yourself and your work maybe because there are fewer distractions. Maybe both places complement each other and u can go back & forth between the two.

I'm sure you'll easily find an airbnb in Malaysia with a kitchen. Better if you look at areas in the suburbs, outside of central KL. Petaling Jaya is just next door to KL, alot less traffic, alot more liveable. The apartments will be bigger, definitely with kitchen, plenty of food choices, supermarkets nearby, prices lower. Just find one near LRT/MRT stations and you're set. My suggestion, not in order, Kota Damansara, Subang, Puchong.

Well known fact, Thailand's accomodation is better & cleaner than Malaysia. In that respect as we've said before. I am sure you can find a nice apartment in Malaysia, KL, they do exist, just may take a bit of searching. I would say it is safer to live in Malaysia, than Thailand, although there is a certain amount of crime in KL. & if you make geniune Malaysian friend's they will help you, in a lot of practical way's & you will have friend's for life. Nice to be by the sea sometimes for a break, personally, i need to be by the sea more often than not. Need to be by water. Yes a lot of bloggers out there, one of my family member's was a famous blogger in Malaysia!! I grew up in Bangkok in the 90s going to an expensive high school with local pop stars. What Bangkok does for me is it keeps opening my eyes a little bit more. Just in this video, like glass bricks from the building at 1:50, or the blue Toyota at 8:29 launching in the mid-90s... there's always something new and interesting that does not exist where I'm from, like negotiating with a stranger to run an errand for you for a small fee... everything I know about the world that's good and expansive, I learned in Bangkok.
Bangkok is a mess that's been very meditative and spiritual for me, until the last 4-5 years, when Thailand also began to entertain a lot of wokeness and so-called globalist values. (at least they opened up pot, I guess!) The center of Bangkok began to die a long death, trains became inhuman, urban sprawl became extreme, everything you've seen in the West had finally come to Bangkok. I can't be in Bangkok anymore because I'd be arrested eventually for my rage lol... but there's Pattaya and that's still great for me.

I have lived in both. KL for 2 years straight and Bangkok off and on about 5 years straight. I think Bangkok is more condensed everything you need is generally in 3-5 km range. I think the neighborhoods have a more communal feel. KL is more spread out and you need to travel farther for things you may need and require you to use different modes of travel. I love both cities but for that reason I preferred Bangkok. There are other pluses and minuses to each. Either way I look at it Bangkok edges out KL but that can change.
If you want a chill beach and my favorite place in Thailand, go to Hua Hin. It's a lot of retired Westerners and the wealthier Thais have beach houses there. I have a guesthouse I used to rent the large room and it has everything you need and straight across from one of the malls and about 50 meters from the beach.

You can walk on the beach every so often but with the tide coming in and out you never know when you can walk on it until you get there, after a few times seeing high tide and no abilty to walk on the beach you are left with finding some outback area to walk well away from the city. Hua Hin does have some absolutely beautiful places to the south if you are willing to take a long motorbike ride, but the absence of walking areas in Hua Hin without having to worry about becoming black top (especially on the weekends) starts to get annoying. Great place for a few months however or if you are willing to brave it south of Hua Hin with less conveniences. You would then definitely need transportation.
