I love visiting Bangkok although it is getting more expensive since I first visited the city in early 80’s. Same story with Jakarta where I used to do a lot of golfing excursions. Now in my mid 60’s I mostly stay home in affordable and less hectic KL, enjoying the clean air and knowing that affordable and quality care is near me in case of health emergencies.

Thais are not keen on Malaysian foods. They are liked Indian food, lots of spices and herbs. There are so many varieties dishes in Thai foods you can choose from, curry, stir fried, soup, grill especially seafood with seafood sauce.I do agree with you about the language, you know why.Thailand had never been colonized by any country.Malaysia was colonized by British so second language is English.

Well known fact, Thailand's accomodation is better & cleaner than Malaysia. In that respect as we've said before. I am sure you can find a nice apartment in Malaysia, KL, they do exist, just may take a bit of searching. I would say it is safer to live in Malaysia, than Thailand, although there is a certain amount of crime in KL. & if you make geniune Malaysian friend's they will help you, in a lot of practical way's & you will have friend's for life. Nice to be by the sea sometimes for a break, personally, i need to be by the sea more often than not. Need to be by water. Yes a lot of bloggers out there, one of my family member's was a famous blogger in Malaysia!! Everyone know's him here in Malaysia now, can't go anywhere without being asked for a photo !! 😅 Keep going Ben, well done! Hard work, i know. & these day's seems to be a lot of competition to keep the content interesting etc. to keep viewer's attention!! KL i would say for you is the perfect base 👍 Nice walk about vlog !!

Like most, you've walked around Putrajaya and failed to see what's so wrong but was staring you in the face the entire time. Malaysia is, by constitution, a secular country but look around and try and find evidence of that. Putrajaya set out to erase the very existence of the 43% of non Muslim Malaysian citizens. That's abhorrent and unimaginable in any decent, civilised country. Putrajaya is an accurate reflection of what Malaysia really is, that is a Malaysia for the Malays.

I have lived in both. KL for 2 years straight and Bangkok off and on about 5 years straight. I think Bangkok is more condensed everything you need is generally in 3-5 km range. I think the neighborhoods have a more communal feel. KL is more spread out and you need to travel farther for things you may need and require you to use different modes of travel. I love both cities but for that reason I preferred Bangkok. There are other pluses and minuses to each. Either way I look at it Bangkok edges out KL but that can change. If you want a chill beach and my favorite place in Thailand, go to Hua Hin. It's a lot of retired Westerners and the wealthier Thais have beach houses there. I have a guesthouse I used to rent the large room and it has everything you need and straight across from one of the malls and about 50 meters from the beach.

That mall is incredible. Felt like I was in Dubai. Ferraris and Bentley’s parked out front. Lineups to get in to the Louis Vuitton store. Crazy rich Asians. So many 3000 plus purse stores. Was thinking as a male I would have no idea that purse cost 3500 plus USD. Only another woman would. These stores are strictly for woman to dunk on other woman. I grew up in Bangkok in the 90s going to an expensive high school with local pop stars. What Bangkok does for me is it keeps opening my eyes a little bit more. Just in this video, like glass bricks from the building at 1:50, or the blue Toyota at 8:29 launching in the mid-90s... there's always something new and interesting that does not exist where I'm from, like negotiating with a stranger to run an errand for you for a small fee... everything I know about the world that's good and expansive, I learned in Bangkok. Bangkok is a mess that's been very meditative and spiritual for me, until the last 4-5 years, when Thailand also began to entertain a lot of wokeness and so-called globalist values. (at least they opened up pot, I guess!) The center of Bangkok began to die a long death, trains became inhuman, urban sprawl became extreme, everything you've seen in the West had finally come to Bangkok. I can't be in Bangkok anymore because I'd be arrested eventually for my rage lol... but there's Pattaya and that's still great for me.

    • @benfishermin

Paraphrasing Ben: I don't want you to think that Thai women are cheap and *easy*. Also Ben: If you are a single guy ... and you want to go out on dates with (Thai) women it will happen naturally and *easily*. Me: Got it.

Actually Malaysian towns and many places in KL are EXACTLY like the back alley you are walking in. Anyway, got a question for you as you are regularly traveling from Thailand to Malaysia and vice versa. Do you think a customs & currency union between Thailand and Malaysia as a good thing? 😊

Ben, you could apply for the ASEAN driving license while in Thailand for driving in 10 countries of the S.E.A. region.

Happy to catch you this evening, Ben. Lovely weather there! Raining here in KL. Wow... looking forward to your always charming walky-talks in India- a country I've been meaning to visit for a live Satsang experience. Stay blessedly happy!

Hey, Ben i love it when you honestly admit you missed Thailand partly for the weeds but didn't complain about the lack of it in Malaysia. The one who is complaining is myself actually, a weed-craving Malaysian.

I’ll always be a big fan of cannabis, if they had the legal cannabis scene in Malaysia like they do in Thailand it would be amazing. Let’s hope things stay like they are in Thailand at least đŸ˜©

Yes, Ben, have you tried searching at PropertyGuru? E.g. a 2 bedroom fully furnished service residence, Cubic Botanical in Bangsar South is only RM1,800 (US382)/mo.
