If you've been around as many cancer patients as I have been, which I HATE that fact, our daughter being one of them, you realize that none of the children are wearing wigs.........women wear scarves and men wear a soft knit hat or baseball cap. When radiation burns you and our hair falls out, your scalp is very sensitive and the weaving that sits on a bald head hurts like sandpaper. If someone with a medical condition like alopecia (sp) will use it, fine....but cancer patients VERY rarely use one, less than 5%.
last time I cut my hair 4 years ago I donated 18 inches to lock of love. My hair is now down to my knees and grows about a foot a year. I plan to cut it again when I gets to my ankles in the next year or two
I'm so happy she donated it,there are so many kids that are going through chemo and need wigs to help them through this could probably make a couple and make their dreams come true
