Thats the thing about passions and hobbies....You don't count the beans.I am a biker, you think I can afford the bike I have?....No sir.
Haha probably not!
Never fall for limited print publishers. They are almost always overpriced or a scam outright. I bought a CE from one of them 3 YEARS AGO and I never received it. Did I get a refund? Hell no. The company just went radio silent and lost their license for practicing business lol. I can't wait for the day these companies die out, but it will probably be when a lot of older gamers die out themselves, as they are the main consumer for them. Waiting a year+ for a game should never be normalized. Also, props for the input delay/audio delay example, that was class.
I agree with you completely. I have some games that I pre-orders dating all the way back to 2020
@infern24 that's the flaw, though.
You can't make an annoying character who runs around for 40 hours making no progress and then cram all the character development into the last 20% of the game.
He needs to have changes DURING those 40 hours.
Also, they went too hard on making him unlikeable. I was actively rooting for his failure
Does this actually sound like a compelling story to you? It sounds like nonsense to me.
I guess one good thing about "SNK Heroines" is that, despite it not being that good itself, it kind of ended up being a central hub for a couple collab character exchanges for SNK.
For instance, there's this random DLC character it had called Thief Arthur. This character is from a series called "Million Arthur", which used to be a decently popular JP exclusive series by Square Enix. It even had it's own fighting game, "Million Arthur: Arcana Blood" which, at least I'd say, is pretty good. Developed by Team Arcana (formerly Examu, formerly formerly Yuki Enterprise) if you've heard of them.
So in this collaboration, SE and SNK essentially gave each other one character to guest star in one of their fighters. "SNK Heroines" got Thief Arthur while "MAAB" got freaking Iori Yagami. So on top of "MAAB" just being a better fighter, it got a fairly popular and iconic guest character. Me thinks this deal was kind of one-sided.
Though there are more, like Skullomania getting in "SNK Heroines" in exchange for Terry Bogard to be in "Fighting EX Layer" by Arika. Another rather one-sided exchange.
That's really cool! I had no idea
It sucks being hyped about a game. Then, you finally get it, and it's a dumpster fire. Especially if you chose that game over one that was actually good
I'm looking at you, Lords of the Fallen. I slept on getting Lies of P because a CZcamsr I liked at the time praised LotF like it was the next Dark Souls. Found out later that he was buddies with the devs, but he didn't mention that in his review/guide.
Lol. You got catfished!
I hate when that happens as well. Because I play all my stuff randomly, and it could get picked at any time, this doesn't happen to me much anymore... but it definitely used to all the time
I swear man. That game looks so darn good but it plays like dog crap.
This audio edit on runner and the foot fungus on Pratt is KILLING me lmaoooo great job as always man
Thanks so much! Those were both added at the last second of editing. I'm glad I had a moment of inspiration 😅
Limited Run never has exclusive publishing rights and there have been a handful of titles where Limited Run would release preorders and a short time later the game will be republished cheaper by another company. As for my biggest regret, it was buying games new on Day One. Last gen I cut back because I knew in six months that Ubisoft AAA game would be at least 50% off. I also got tired of broken games being released with Day One 80 GB update. So now I only buy Day One titles from trusted, high quality developers like Nintendo, Naughty Dog and Kojima Studios. Sorry EA, Microsoft and Activision, I'm not buying your broken game on Day One.
Yeah, I don't buy anything day one either. It almost always drops in price soon after release. I also wait to see if it's playable without any patches and updates. One day, those servers will go down
My biggest regret was Batman: Dark Tomorrow on the OG X-Box. It was so bad I played it for about 50 minutes, then ragequitting and returning it to GameStop the next day. The cashier actully asked "Is there anything wrong with it?" to which I replied: "Yes. Yes it is. It's SH*T!!!" I've never felt more insulted by a game to this day. Ah well. Good times, good times. 🙄
Lol!! I would have loved to see the gamestop employee's reaction to that!
@@RNGGamerYT She just smiled and said "Oh. Sorry to hear that." She was probably a student with an extra job. But it was great to get it out of the system. The thing is, looking at the screenshots Batman Dark Tomorow looks great. It's when you play it it really falls apart. It's like biting into a chocolate, only to discover it's a dogturd.
Complaining about time limits in old Atelier games is like buying a soccer game and complaining that they use a ball.
You also play those games multiple times since you take over your level and items to the next run, making it much easier.
You never are able to do everything on your first playthrough.
Thats the whole appeal for most fans of classic Atelier, the time management. 😅
You make a point. But that analogy only holds true if you know what you're getting into. Which I didn't 😅
Ooof, I first saw Always Awakening because of the Evercade Cartridge announcement, later on discovered GOG sells it and its second game for a couple bucks on sale. But paying that much for the first one when the other options came out really does sting.
I know!?! It's actually painful...
That audio delay for runner 3 was brilliant!! 😂 That sounds awful. As a musician that sounds like utter hell. Thanks for the entertaining video 😁
Never played XC2 but heard people hating the main character so I get it. Having played XC3 you’re in for a treat because the characters are so much more dynamic, light hearted, semi serious and REALLY well written in XC3 and the villians and supporting characters too! Including the Pons ☺️💪
I've gotten so many comments about the audio delay. I'm so thrilled you enjoyed it.
Thanks for letting me know about xenoblade Chronicles 3. I think you've converted me into trying it out!
"I beat it with every character"...
I'm guessing a LOT of SNK Heroines players would agree
Lol... classic
Thank you Bro for lightening the load on my own heart, bought a few games I dislike like yourself, thanks for the stories behind yours, had a good chuckle watching, take care and game on
I'm so glad I could help lighten that load on your heart! Thanks so much for watching!
Honestly, I don't have many regrets on my game purchases because I don't buy things until they're on deep sale... I won't buy a game until I can personally justify the price if it's a total turd... if I hate it when I see the trailer, I dont buy it. If I feel on the fence, I wait until I can buy a copy for a big discount. Never lets me get disappointed with my purchases.
*Disclaimer... Many modern AAA franchises are unnecessarily large file sizes and often times not actually on the actual disc, so I do have some regrets for purchasing some things, but I learned that lesson very quickly and no longer buy games that arent playable with the disc...
Yeah, I try to do the same thing. But I have an affinity for terrible games that sometimes gets me into trouble.
Have you seen the website "does is play?" Before. They let you know if the game is playable from the disc with no patches and updates. I always check it before I buy a game now
@@RNGGamerYT actually, I did not know about that site... I tend to rely on channels I watch to figure out that information usually. It's a shame that we need a website to let us know if the developers are selling you a physical copy of a game or a themed drink coaster 🤣👍
@Honest_Grifter thanks! You can always rely on me to let you know. I skip games all of the time because of it (... looking at you Alone in the Dark)
Well at the dlc they REALY fixed the problem with rex, he is a fucking chad charachter
Lol, really!?! I can't wait to see it
I really feel the story about limited run. Well, it's not a limited run situation but I ordered Sea of stars from I am 8-bit only to find out we're also getting it at GameStop. So I ordered it for way more with shipping and conversion from Canadian to USD. Thankfully with some back and forth I was able to get my money back and just ordered from my local GameStop but yeah.....every time! Fomo!
I also ordered it from iam8bit. I think I paid $15 extra dollars for a slip case 🤣
I'm older than you at 65 and my very first system was the Atari 2600 back in 1979. I don't collect, let alone, like, those games anymore. I've come to the realization that I really don't have many years left, and I've pretty much already played games on the systems that came out as the years went whizzing by. I'm not going back, but onward and only collect and play newer releases. BTW, great video.
I'm glad you like the video! Kudos on not letting nostalgia get the best of you. Newer games have so many great things to offer. I'm thrilled you are enjoying them
the that i played when i was 9 is Super Mario Crossover 1 2 and 3 i love that game so much i play it in my room all the time but for now i try playing it again a few months ago in 2024 but turns out i can't play it i haven't played them in a really long time
omg man this game brings me back so many memories me and my cousins played it before i was like 6 years old my brother was 3 or 4 years old my sister is 8 years old we were copying his jump animation when i was in my older cousin's room all of us came in i forgot how the music track and the sound effects my older cousin had that game on his Wii Console can't tell how many it was 12:25
You guys played this!?! It's a fairly uncommon game.
I lived in Alabama for 5 years and the SE as a whole for 37 years and all I think I took away from this video, that you're wearing two shirts this time of year 🥵😂...update, I'm 50 and the 2600 (1982ish, the black one) was my first console and was the coolest thing ever at the time. I have almost zero desire to ever play it beyond a compilation or a streaming service. It's mainly just to show my girlfriend what life was like before Super Mario Bros 3.
Damn lol why you showing your girlfriend how miserable life was lol. Even Super Mario 1 was leaps ahead of any Atari game. I remember playing Super Mario 3 for the very 1st time when that was out & wow that game was 1 of my fav growing up. I still like it a lot. However I like Super Mario World & Super Mario 2 better. But yeah Super Mario 3 was revolutionary for it's time.
It's nice and air-conditioned down in the gameroom 🤣
How did your girlfriend like the Atari stuff?
and i also played this on my Nintendo Switch and my sister's Mac Book Air laptop ofc it took me forever to beat the final boss fight it's way harder than it looks it has pretty crazy music 3:58
I'm surprised you could beat it
@@RNGGamerYT I am too even though it’s harder than the NES
These are some genuine horror stories and I think I would probably lose sleep over a couple of these
Haha, you're not wrong!
Great vid RNG! While I like the Atelier Arland trilogy (Rorona, Totori, Meruru,), the constant deadlines were definitely annoying. You might like the Atelier games released on the PS4 more because they removed the time limit
Thanks for letting me know! It was the time limits that soured me to the whole series. I'm glad to see they dropped them
I have never played any of the Xenoblade games but even I know that Xenoblade 3 actually retroactively makes the main character from 2 even worse if you can believe it. That damn photo man lol.
Nooooo. How could he be even worse!?!
King of Fighters is MY favorite fighting game series too! 😱
It's super underrated! Thanks for letting me know
I just purchased King of Fighters 13 for the switch and have to say it plays and looks amazing on the switch. The sprites and animations are second to none and wish more studios would go with hand drawn sprites for 2d fighters but we all know that is not cheap and 3D polygon fighters with a 2d background are here to stay
that music track sounds so familiar 7:55
It's just some generic royalty free song off the youtube audio library
@@RNGGamerYT oh ok
There are two versions of the Lego Star destroyer, one of which goes for about 60 new and the other for about 300 and is ultradetailed. I was bdding on the 60 dollar one, thinking it was the 300 one. Same thing, I was being nickle and dimed by the other bidder at the last minute. Put down a max bid of 120, and I won it by 91. After shipping and fees I paid 120 for it. What this taught me was: A fool and their money is quick to part. Do my own research - don't assume. Don't bid against bots, especially at the last minute.
So, when you said you spent a lot on a game you were disappointed with, I get the emotional frustration.
I'm sorry that happened to you, but I'm glad I'm not alone😅
I guess you know Retro Rivals. They said you played a canadian game called Pine View Drive PS4. Also they said your name was Jamie (hope I spelt that right).
That's all true! I'm playing Pineview Drive right now!
I still remeber my first buyers regret. Superman 64. I was so confused when i got it home. 😅
Legendary bad game!
@RNGGamerYT It's crazy to think it cost the modern equivalent of $75. Btw what smups would you reccomend for a neophyte to the genra?
@newarchillabog9403 yeah, it's crazy it was so expensive!
For a shmup novice, start with Crimzon Clover world explosion. Or Ketsui Deathtiny on the PS4. They both have great training modes
i heard someone said better late than ever before
Classic saying 😅
I bought Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties for the 3DO because I had a nudie code from an EGM magazine at the time and I thought that was going to be awesome. Well, it was definitely not awesome, and a little bit disappointing. Don’t know if I necessarily regret it though. It was an experience.
That's a deep cut! I have the rerelease on the PS4... but I always wanted to grab it on the 3DO. Is it really the worst game of all time?
My biggest buyers remorse was the "playstation mini"...*smacks forehead*.. I already knew the game catalogue was atrocious (bar three or four classics?), but I needed it so bad. Got home, loaded it up and thought "what have I done". It was so bad people were hacking it and uploading their own choice of games. I did too in the end =r
I was blown away on the gamelist on this one too. I'm glad I decided to skip out on it 🤣
@@RNGGamerYT it had "Rainbow six"... which is totally unplayable on the controller... but not "tomb raider"? "Spyro"?? "Tony hawks"?? "Gran Turismo"?? "Symphony of the night"!?....but "Rainbow six" apparently is more of a classic!?
Guys if you can't get the licenses, just leave it alone. WHO AM I KIDDING I BOUGHT THE THING
@jake90052 🤣
Don’t feel bad. I’m into music production (hardware). Between both of those hobbies, I think I’m set.
That's enough hobbies for anyone 😅
Rorona is cool, but I think Ryza is a better intro to the series. I feel like it introduces mechanics a bit better and the alchemy is fun to learn.
Does it still have the deadline issues?
@@RNGGamerYT not that I remember. Definitely don’t remember constant festivals lol
@@RNGGamerYT I've done a lot of research into JRPGs the past few weeks (trying to get into them myself) and as far as I've seen stated many times, the Ryza and Sophie series do not have any timer/deadline placed on any of the gameplay, so those are usually the ones people recommend for newcomers to the Atelier games.
@@RNGGamerYT Only the first four Atelier games had time limits (I did not liked that either). All other games have no time limits at all! Only two (Atelier Escha & Logy and especially Atelier Firis) had a time limit, but that one was so extremely easy that it could as well do not exist at all. I did had not any trouble with them and passed them almost without even noticing it (Firis just have to best her exam in time, and you are probably completely ready for that under even a quarter of the time available, and after that all those time limits are completely gone).
I played all the Atelier games except those with that time limit, and had a blast with them. I have decided to at least give those few first games another chance, but keep a spoiler free guide next to me. Yeah - It's maybe not ideal, but I am still curious...
@jclosed2516 thanks for letting me know
that's the one i was talking about the final boss fight!!! 5:39
Ahhh!
Iv got to give you credit. Your regret purchases are very justified. I rarely piss away big bucks on speculative purchases so don't have anywhere near as many game regrets. But my worst one to date is probably trading in a link to the past on SNES for Ultraman lol. Admittedly it was a cheat trade where I finished the game and took it back to the shop with the excuse as it was bought for a birthday gift and was a double. But I would still have rather kept that game than had 2 games to play for the same price with one of them being a shit game. Ironically of anyone at that store had cared to check they would have found a save state on Zelda with a most every heart container collected and saved just before the final boss lol
Ouch.... a link to the past for Ultraman is an epic level burn 😅
I heard that actor before 12:42
Oh yeah?
I agree with the Twin Bee bell mechanic- it's counter intuitive, I can never stop shooting which means I can't get near them!
The side scroll stages on Stinger are quite a bit easier to deal with.
I love the 2600 still, though I haven't added anything in about 10 years now, apart from a bootleg version of Donkey Kong cos I liked the box art.
Would love to see a NES collection vid someday J.
All the best!!
🕹
Thanks so much! I'm glad we feel the same way about twin bee!
I want to go an NES collection video, but I have to think of a way to make it more fun. My collection videos don't do well anymore worth the way I do them
@RNGGamerYT owwww collection vids not doing well sucks, Metal Jesus, John Riggs and others made a career of it! 😂
Guess your audience likes to see you perplexed in your vidz?!
It can be a cruel, hard, cold ol' world.
😢😎
@@broken1394 I think they mainly just like to hear my weird takes on games. It's hard to do that when you cover 100 games in a video
I enjoy your videos but seeing you talk about a game i consider to be a good game is rare. We all have different taste in games. I'm not surprised you didn't like those games. Thanks for the video RNG
We can all have different tastes! These videos can be controversial for sure. But, I'm glad you still like the content.
i hate when those bells juggle i really do those bells change so quick you can't to get them
The bell juggling is the worst!!!
@@RNGGamerYT I know I can barely get blue bells to speed up
Thank goodness for youtube. I watch for reviews that I even have small interest in lol. Because I used to be an impulse buyer. I kinda still am. My game back log is ridiculous.
But at least I buy games I know I will eventually play and find some enjoyment. Because I will play a game , put in 30 hrs, and then stop playing it lol. Especially JRPG's.
I totally agree!
I need to watch more reviews before picking up so much random stuff
I do! I care about Atari and all video games no matter how poopy they can be. The reason I love the Atari is because of how great the art work is on them you cannot find that today! Same with the NES and many other systems of the era. I wished I had them all but recollecting them has been a bit of a burden. A great investment though because when we both kick the bucket these games are gonna be worth a ton of money but I buy to play not just keep sealed. Although it would be amazing to have a museum where it is nothing but sealed copies of games.
I agree that the artwork is incredible on them!
automatically run? i played this game that is from mega drive and Sega Genesis the platformer game on the system is Mr Nutz i am extremely bad at it i try beating it so many times until i gave up trying i couldn't beat world 4-2 that world is a lava and unerground level i was using the Nimbus Controller and PS5 Controller
It's an autorunner!?! I had no idea
@@RNGGamerYT I didn’t know that from the start but now I do I am terrible at Mr Nutz that platformer killed me like crazy
Man, quality is awesome!
Thanks so much! I always appreciate your support of the channel
much better graphics than it looks 13:23
You think so?
@@RNGGamerYT yeah
Hahaha yeah, rorona is not for everyone. I love atelier, but i definitely warn people ahead of time that the games are not for everyone (especially the earlier games like rorona).
I'm glad to hear that they changed them up! Thanks for letting me know
i heard SNK before 10:32
It's a legendary company. But they've had a lot of missteps over the years
@@RNGGamerYT I didn’t know that
I preordered WCW Thunder on PS1 and paid extra to get the strategy guide. I think that’s my worst offender. Still have it.
Ouch! My buddy says this is his least favorite game on the PS1. He's a huge wrestling fan... so I'll take both of your words for it
I love atari. Still have my 5200. But I used to ebay for everything. But now adays. I'm positive the sellers are the ones outbidding legit bidders to boost up their sells.
They just pay for bot subscriptions to drive up the price. They will bid you up in a microsecond, and if they accidentally outbid you, they will cancel the last mid they made with 0.09 seconds left in the auction to male sure you always pay the highest price
@@RNGGamerYT there's been a few times where I get a message from the seller trying to sell it to me for the price I had it last. Like nope, I know you were boosting the price now. So I low ball them after that.
@@minarum perfect! Do it
If I had all the money back I've wasted over 30-plus years of gaming, I think I could retire lol 😅😅 You try your best, right? I know which genres I like and don't like, and most of the red flags to look for. Ain't nothing perfect, though....I've been burned too many times to count. 🎉🎉 One positive aspect of all this time and experiences though, is that for many years now, I have usually been able to tell if a game is for me or not within about 20 minutes of cranking it up. If I have to fight with the UI or bad controls or any number of things that early, it typically tells me to put it down right away. Sometimes there's no substitute for age and wisdom lmao 😅😅
There really is no substitute for age and wisdom. These days, I find myself loving a lot of games from the onset, only for them to start souring the more I play.
THANK YOU! I've been saying this about the main character in Xenoblade 2 for YEARS!
I know, right!?!
I regret buying Castlequest (NES), Streets of Rage 4 (PS4), Astebreed Definitive Edition (Steam), Geometry Wars 3 Dimensions Evolved (Steam), Tempest 4000 (Steam), Doom Eternal (PS4), and Dariusburst: Another Chronicle EX+ (PS4). I have a friend who back in the day regretted buying Ghosts N Goblins (NES, that was AFTER we found out you had to beat the game twice to get the true ending.) He regrets buying Silpheed (Sega CD), and he MAJORLY regrets buying The Adventures of Bayou Billy (NES). I know some of the games on those lists are going to trigger some people in the comments. LOL.
A few of those I'm right there with you. Especially Astebreed. That game was so bad in so many ways... and I own 2 physical copies of it (the original doujin release imported from Japan, and on the PS4)
i had a blast with sor4 (mr x dlc version), i get that the combo mechanic could turn people off but survival mode was too much fun
You make good points here. Especially about SNK Heroines. It's WAYY too shallow and simplified.
Great video as always!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate that
Bro, I know that a lot of the games that I picked up for the collection, I've never regretted however out of all the games that I bought for the collection, these 3 are the ones that I regret buying:
Persona 5 Dancing Star Night (PS4) - Horrible Game and I spent $100 for it on eBay and it's a $40 game. Sucks because it has Ann Takamaki in it and I love Ann plus she's the best dancer in the game.
Duck Dodgers (N64) - I got it CiB at Saratoga Comic Con a couple of months ago and I spent all my money that I had on it and after I bought it, it ended up being in worse shape than I thought it would be.
Mario Party 5 (GameCube) - I paid the price for a CiB copy and it was missing the manual. Not to mention, it ended up being the weakest entry in the Hudson Soft Arc in the series before I played Mario Party 8.
Either way, Great Episode as always RNG Gamer.
Thanks, brother!
Glad to see I'm not the only one who's gotten burned
i gotten much better of twinbee in the MSX than when i was 17
You actually like it?!?
@@RNGGamerYT yes
Oh wow thanks for explaining why that Atelier game wasn’t so fun. Good vid so far.=)
I'm glad you like it. It's a strange game, and I wonder how the other games in the series stack up against it
this has better graphics than it looks 6:56
Twinbee has great graphics. I love the way they look. I just hate the way they play...
@@RNGGamerYT same
Always disliked the Twin Bee series for exactly the same reasons. The games look awesome, I really want to enjoy them, but juggling the bells for powerups is just too much for me.
Having said that, Parodius for the Famicom also have the bells.and it's an awesome game.
I'm a much bigger parodius fan, too!
I actually liked the NES version of twin bee called "stinger" the bells were much more managable?... in that one? ... it was over 37 yrs ago so my memory might fail me. My thing is sometimes I'll buy a masters of the universe origins figure and then think " why did you just pay that much for a toy?" But that's maybe 4% of the time. Most of the time I can't wait for my toys to come in the mail.
Stinger is OK. It works better as a horizontal shoot em up over a vertical one.
I didn't know they were still making Masters of the universe toys anymore
the only MSX game i beat is Zanac EX that's all i couldn't beat more than that:(
Zanac is a great series!
I'm so glad you're expressing the exact same feelings about XB2 as me. Wow I was a huge fan of the first game but I could not even get through part 2. The main character was so obnoxious and annoying to me. I liked the blades in general but the main character just did me in. Part 3 is a huge return to form though. I dropped 2 and gave that a chance and LOVED it. Spent more than 100 hours in it.
Awesome! Thanks for letting me know
i played this on my ipad using a PS5 controller and i am terrible at it 3:45
It's hard even on the normal system
Atari. I loved Atari when this was the standard in the 80's. Then when Sega Master system came out & NES you see the big jump from Atari games to those systems & games. All Atari games are high scoring. They don't have a beginning or an ending that's 1 problem. The Controllers are another where it's just a joystick with 1 button & the other controllers that are dials, they look & feel obsolete. Most of these popular Atari games are remade for the Nes, they play a whole lot better on that console.
Also it's everything 80's too with the mom & pop shops, little rental stores that only have like 20 games for you to rent. Buying video games at this time was really hard etc. These are times I am so happy not to relive them again in my lifetime.
Honestly I think Atari does a way worse job bringing those arcade games at home when you had arcade high scoring games. Sega Genesis does a way better job to bring the arcade experience to your home. Like much better. Also I would say there is just as many people who like Genesis over Snes when Genesis is an older console. I can't say the same for Atari. over the Nes. If you didn't grow up with an Atari, chances are you might not like it. Where as Nes I feel this is the 1st system youngsters really like even if they didn't experience the Nes etc.
Atari definitely struggled bringing the arcade experiment home. But it was a new thing, and there was really no blueprint for doing it
I agree with every game you mentioned except for the 2D Girls fighter that you beat in 1 sitting. To me that seems like old school Street Fighter 2 the way they fight each other etc.
Atari. Yeah nobody likes that. There was the atari clone system selling at Costco for about $100 here. It had like 100 games on it, maybe 50, I don't remember. All I know it was a very cheap price & I refused to pick that up. The main problem with Atari games is that they are high scoring games. Then games don't have an ending.
Fighting games can be great, but that one definitely wasn't. It was like the shell of a normal fighting game
I regret buying Ride to Hell: Retribution, because it was terrible. However I knew going in it was terrible, but I couldn’t resist and wanted to experience this train wreck. Plus I only spent $2 on it back in the day so it wasn’t a total loss.
A lot of people have actually recommended thus game to me... I like janky, terrible games, and this is the jankiest one out there 🤣
It’s in its own category of jank. But what an experience lol
Please make this a series and playlist. I missed the 1st.
Thanks for the heads up on on XC2, maybe not for me though not high on my list anyway.
I have always liked but not played much Twin bee and possibly the bell mechanic is why. Still like it and treasure my psp comp.
Unlimited run games are horrible and I forget who but there's a deep dive video that lays it all out very clearly.
Personal regret list is small and everyone is sick of the debate but tlou 2 burnt me though I still get the platinum despite the wretched experience that it was.
Other than that most old Atari games are something I go back to periodically and wonder why? I got the 50th Anniversary celebration too.
I'm planning on making it a series. Just a sporadic one. Thanks for your awesome comment. Why didn't you like the last of us Part II?
@@RNGGamerYT It made me feel like I wanted it to be over. Completely the opposite of how I felt playing the last of us on PS3.
That was such a great rush that I couldn't put it down. I would rather they went with a completely new story than tear everything down the way they did.
The Last of us part 3 would be a big NOPE from me after that.
I could tell you I enjoyed the birthday section or that the combat is really well done but this is trying to find a way to move forward after a traumatic event as ooposed to being swept away with it all like the first game.
Awesome i was waiting for another one of these buddy. Yeah i agree that SNK Heroines game is awful , I got sucked into it too obviously lol.
One's for me i alway's fall back on are CastleVania 2 , Street's of Rage 3 and Dino Crisis 3. I was not a happy camper when i got them game's.
I know there is more i kow there is more but they are 3 stand out's i will alway's remember getting.
All three of your picks are games that I want to give another chance to. I've never played any of the dino crisis games... but so many people recommend it
@@RNGGamerYT The first 2 Dino Crisis game's are awesome buddy. I'm not sure what they was thinking with 3 hahaha. It is just simply terrible and not in a so bad it's good way. Think that is the reason they never made another one after that lol.
i first had a Nintendo Switch in September something in 2020
You were late to the party
@@RNGGamerYT I was?
Limited Run, in particular, has always been a mixed bag for me. I appreciate these companies and the services they offer, BUT, Limited Run has become such a big thing that they never upscaled their business to accommodate, or at least that's how it seems. At this point, when I buy something, it has to be something I really care about, which for me is mostly Xbox physicals and RPG/SHMUPS I like, or a game I REALLY loved. They have also continued to get more and more expensive, with less added value. Non-numbered I just wait for a deal on Amazon if I see one along the way if it's something I really want. They prey on FOMO, but the tricky part with FOMO is once your reason for continuing is ruined, it's pointless to continue. I can deal with the time delays of purchases as my backlog is insane, but they have done it a few times like that where it's made out to be exclusive and just isn't. Their shipping costs are also crazy considering they just throw games in paddled envelopes too. When random ebay sellers do a better job than a company that is focused on serving (primarily) collectors, you know you're doing it wrong.
TBH though, as prices continue to rise, I am trying REALLY hard not to care about future values (as I never sell anything anyway) and skipping things that I think are future collectibles that I don't really care about as a cost savings measure. To me, in the end, I'm proceeding with my collection being worthless as my kids will likely just want to clean the junk out of my house when I pass and throw it all away or give it to some neighborhood kid instead of selling it anyway, lol.
It's hard not to think about the future prices of things! You do, after all, have significant equity in them. But I agree with you 100% about Limited Run.
Thanks for your wonderful comment!
@@RNGGamerYT i think about future prices are the motivation on when to buy instead of buying something only because I think it will be valuable. I was buying a lot of games I knew I wasn’t going to play or enjoy. Now the game is how low can it go before it’s gone. This is harder and harder with companies like Nintendo self imposing low production runs on certain items. I just don’t want to get into paying full retail for something that turns out not to be limited and I won’t play for years 😂. As it stands, unnumbered LRG productions have frequently wound up on Woot for bargain prices.
@retom7 yeah, it's always better not to speculate and to only buy what you want to play
Armored core 6 is this for me. I know a lot of people love it but I got about half way through and just stopped playing it.
...I literally just picked it up 🤣
I played the heck out of Miner 2049er on the Atari 1200XL, but the sequel Bounty Bob Strikes Back was much better, as far as home console games went in 1984.
I'm sure it was super groundbreaking back then. I just can't get the hang of them
@@RNGGamerYT I probably wouldn't be able to play any of them for more than five minutes these days.
@moominsean even that is a push 😅
For me, a game that I very regret to buy was Wipeout Pulse on PS2. I was excited, until... the game starts!! I think at time "It's a joke?" No, it was really runs to 30 fps!! HOW IT WAS POSSIBILE?! FUSION RUNS TO 60FPS SOLID, so why Pulse, released many years later than Fusion, runs to this abomination? For this, i never buy Fatal inertias on Xbox 360, i love F-zero type games, but... 30 fps NO, THANKS!!
Yeah, you NEED the Wipeout games to run a 60fps
My favorite youtuber🎉🎉🎉
You're so nice! Thank you😄
Thanks!
Oh my goodness!!! Thank you so much.
i was playing super twinbee SuperNintendo
I have a bunch of the games on the super famicom!
@@RNGGamerYT you have so much more games than me
Miner II is same game they just had to split it in two cause of memory.
For real!?!
@@RNGGamerYT yessir
@@RNGGamerYT all the levels wouldn’t fit on one cart. Bounty Bob Strikes Back is the actual sequel.
i never beat a single Atari game ik my mom played Atari games before when she was a young child
Most of them can't even be beaten
@@naasj3226 Atari games are high scoring games. They don't gave a story from start to end. You just play them to beat a high score or try to get one. That's it.
@@RNGGamerYT Ik
I have a handful that I'll likely never play again for similar reasons, but at least most of them I got for cheap. What Did I Do to Deserve This My Lord? 2 on PSP is one. It looked interesting, but I just never enjoyed it in any capacity. You barely interact with the thing. Vagrant Story on PS1 was one as well. It was so drab and brown to look at, and the battles were really tedious, especially if you didn't build up the right weapon for the bosses. I just couldn't enjoy it. Chrono Cross on PS1 as well... it kind of undid Chrono Trigger's story in some ways, and I hate that. It's like newer Star Wars taking away the happy endings from the characters I grew up loving.
I have never heard of that PSP game... but that's a crazy title. Vagrant Story and Chrono Cross are both in my backlog. I'm not even sure why I picked them up... but thanks for giving me a warning. I'll temper my expectations
I don't regret seeing this video. I will put most of those game on the ignore and don't buy category.
Except xenoblade Chronicle 2 because I already got it. Also my least favorite of the 3. Definitely love the 1st one. Okayish on the 3rd. What the heck on the 2nd. The requirements to pass a frequent obstacle is to get an ability from one of those blade. The other question is how a blade can attack by itself without a master. Like a weapon or a gun attack by itself???
Don't get me started on trying to get around obstacles in xenoblade 😅
Xenoblade 2 is my fav in the series and i had the same complains when i started playing, rex was really annoying at first, but thats his character flaw he has to overcome late game. since you liked the antagonists you should play Torna The Golden Country DLC, its not long and it has wonderful set of characters. And Xenoblade 3 is also great, but too downer for my taste
Thanks for letting me know that Rex gets better. I have torna, so I'll be playing that.
Do you buy your games randomly too?
Nah... I actually try to curate it.
I regret buying super Nintendo mini.i don't have donkey kong
I've owned a couple of snes minis, but I never really played them. Then input delay was too bad
@@RNGGamerYT u got that right.
Just happened to me with beyond good and evil. Not feeling it at all
I can totally see that! I played the HD version when it came out on the 360. I thought it was pretty good, but not as amazing as everyone else. Outside of Jade, the main character, I kind of hated everyone else 🤣
@@RNGGamerYT It feels a bit unfinished. But its a good game overall. I replayed it a week ago, and every time I look at the face of Jade, a clearly asian character, I remember when they said when the showed the trailer about the new game that she was always race ambiguous.
Totally agree with you about those damn bells in Twinbee. I had Poppin Twinbee on the SNES. Ugh. Brutal.
I'm not with you on the Atari 2600. I bought mine in 1980, had tons of games, tons of broken joysticks because they snap right off. After Pacman on 2600, then ET, I was done with that system and never looked back. I think I gave all of the Atari stuff to my nephew and didn't get back in to console gaming until the SNES. (I gamed on my Apple // until then).
I told you! I'm the only one who likes the Atari 😅
But I'm glad I'm not the only one who is frustrated with those stupid bells
@@GenMasterB You can use Sega Genesis Controllers to play Atari games.
@@tonyp9313 not in 1980. There was no Genesis. I'd given it away long before that console came out. lol
@@GenMasterB K I am telling you the sega Genesis controllers can be plugged in the atari. They work for that system. My friend has an atari & showed me.
@@tonyp9313 K and I am aware of that, but thank you.
Do you regret BATTLETOADS?!
I don't! It's a good game. It's just unfair 🤣
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is way better than Xenoblade 2. Even saying that I still really love XC2, but the third game has a really good story and cast of characters, and the combat is better.
Awesome! Thanks for letting me know
@RNGGamerYT it is all just a matter of opinion, though. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 dud make me want to try out nearly all these side quests, which is rare for me to do in a jrpg
I think that Metal Jesus loves Atari aswell! 😀 So you are not alone 😊
He does!! I know I'm not alone... there just aren't a lot of us 😅
@@Wondermooses But the again Metal Jesus is 50+ years old...If you are inder 45 chances are you are alone liking the Atari
One of my regrets is buying the Xbox 360 version of Splatterhouse. It’s one of the stupidest games I’ve ever played.
at least you can unlock all the original splatter house games.
Yeah, but it has all the original splatterhouse games on it. So that's awesome
subbing
Thanks so much! I'm glad I could earn your subscription
A lot of RPG games you don't like. Yeah I don't like them either. Any RPG games though whether they are good, bad, knows which ones come out on various systems, even has a spread sheet listed with them.
You don't go to Femtrooper, Miss Bubbles & who ever else. (Hey I'll be like you & say before you come here & blast me, I just want to tell you that I aboslutely love those channels)
You go to the master RPG gamer. Emily. It's like Jill for the master of unlocking lol.
You talking about orbalology!?!
@@RNGGamerYT Yes.
I feel ya on xenoblade 2 the games so mediocre compared to the others lol
Thanks for letting me know I'm not crazy
So I got toy soldiers war chest on ps4 and man this thing is bad. it is buggy and boring. That is my latest disappointment.
Haha! I am so glad I skipped out on these
I dropped Xenoblade 2, did not care for Rex
Thank you!!! I'm glad I'm not alone
I think you’ll really like Xenoblade 3. Characters are older, story is much more serious, good mysteries and twists, combat is better too especially leveling up which was my only complaint in 2.
Thanks so much for letting me know!
Limited Run Games... neat idea. Garbage company.
They are at least trying to be a little better recently 😅
The new Avatar game... though, the wife bought it for me. It's so bloody boring.
Haha, I watched the mind pulp video about this and it was hilarious 😅
I feel the same way about Shadow Complex on the PS4. Not a horrible game for $10-$15, but I paid $80. I enjoyed it and even beat it twice, but knowing then what I know now, I would've never have gotten it... or at least not the physical version. On the contrary, I got Mortal Shell, also on the PS4, for $8 and I loved it. I also beat it twice, and I wouldn't mind beating it again. Oh well, you live you learn.
I love, love, love shadow complex. I was thrilled to get a physical copy. Although, I never opened it and only played it on the 360
I regret buying GTA 4 on the Xbox 360 back when it was released. I traded six Xbox 360 games I really enjoyed playing to GameStop just to have enough store credit to buy it. I thought I would love the game since I loved GTA 3, San Andreas and Vice City. Plus all the reviewers were giving it a 10/10, so I bought into the hype. After an hour playing it, I was annoyed with the driving. To me it felt I was driving on ice also I didn’t like the New York City inspired setting. I still get mad at myself just thinking about this purchase.
I love GTA4, but the driving is definitely a little wonky. I did learn to get good at it, eventually
You seem like you’re from the southern part of upper New England. That’s not an insult by the way. I’m from Middle New England
I'll take that as a compliment! I live in the deep south!
