  • In this video I'll be showing how I painted up the Primaris Judiciar from the Warhammer 40,000 Indomitus box. The miniature is superb and has a lot of great details you can play about with, and is a nice reimagining or making of the old Chaplain Initiate which was mentioned in the very early rulebooks, though I don't think a miniature was ever made.

    I take it the color is set up for blood angles. Would you recommend the same shade of gloves for Ultramarines? I really like how the word bearer darkens up and contrasts nicely with the brown while not being garish. I just afraid the Blue pauldron will not work with it.

    • @BrushandBoltgun
      @BrushandBoltgun  Před 2 lety

      Hey Michael, thanks for watching! :) Yeah, I’ve done him as a Knights of the Chalice marine, which are the same red as Blood Angels. To be honest I think it should work with the Ultramarines too. If not you could try some Grey (maybe Eschin or Mechanicus Standard) and was them with Drakenhof Nightshade (shade) or Ultramarine Blue (contrast). That would give them a blue tint. My brain’s saying baneblade brown with Ultramarine contrast over, but not too sure how that would look… may have a play around later :)

    what you do is awesome...on the coat...but you should try doing what you do while the paints are wet ...to remove the effect that there is a layer just patched overtop the previous one...i believe the end effect would be smoother and cleaner...but it does takes time to make it...and i totally understand if you are not doing it to save time

    • @BrushandBoltgun
      @BrushandBoltgun  Před 4 lety

      Cheers Thanasis, very much appreciated! :) It’s all to do with time and the overall effect. I want to keep the tutorials easy enough for everyone to do without wet blending (I’ve done a bit on the nighthaunt but there’s no other real way to do then) if possible. I think if I wet blended there’d be maybe one video a fortnight rather than two full ones and two short ones. :) Now if I painted full time I could probably do both! Haha :)
