@@triecampbell1159 totally agree . Even people with totally flat bellies look kinda bloated … but that’s fashion I guess hahahaa … hard pass from this 90s kid
You have such a nice way of putting things. Bel-lay sounds stylish. (Don’t mean I wanna keep it though, no lie). Ditch the frump, so true. But, sometimes oversized clothing is so cozy!!!
You could always go to the shoe repair and have them put an elastic band /panel on the side is fairly inexpensive I think the most my aunt 😮paid for to have what's the panel put on the side about is $20 bucks
Try doing this with an apple shape, please. This model is hourglass so this holds true for this shape. Even pear, but not apple, a truly round belly. Thanks!
I would only add don't be stuck on a size number. Not all clothing manufacturers sizes are consistent. It's better to size up and tailor to fit your body. An outdoor also will look better if it's looser and you're not straining your seams and buttons. I'll wear anything from an xl, 16 to 2x and 20. It really depends on the garment. Our bodies also fluctuate a few pounds back and forth through the month. It's nice to have things to wear on your thinner or fluffier days.
For fall….definitely wide calf boots, always a challenge to get a classic pair that are not too trendy. Also long cardigans…what materials don’t cling but skim the body and what lengths work best for different body types…..I just watched you for the first time…and I thought your genuineness, honesty, and positivity is truly refreshing! I wish you all the best and thank you for your succinct advice and body positive message….
Loved this! For fall ideas-yes, definitely coats as they can add major bulk; sweaters (big boobs or big girls should not wear anything “ribbed”); outer layer jackets. Thank you!
2 things that have transformed the way I buy clothes and wear them, learning my shape and learning to use a sewing machine to alter my clothes. I always described my self as a uk size 12/14 but I’ve found that I’m more like a 16 in some brands on some days. Many factors can affect your size, hormones, bloating etc. I tend to buy bigger if I’m torn between 2 sizes and tailor to my measurements if necessary 👗
This is sooooooo key. Learn shape and what suits your body needs. Then tailor to fit that shape. Makes SUCH a difference. Sometimes for me, just hoisting the whole garment up at the shoulders by 1 or 2 inches takes a dress from meh to yessss! Sometimes buying a size bigger, so you have space where you need it and altering the rest is the beat course of action.
Clothing sizes aren't consistent in the first place, I only trust my measuring tape lol, this is why I have jeans been 25 and 27 Waist, with one saying 25 but measuring 14.5 flat meaning it's a 29 💀
Preach! I'm mid-50s, not dead! I still want to look cute, be comfortable, not be super self-conscious, especially when I have to go to my husband's work functions. We want to be cute too!
Sweater dresses, that's where I need the biggest help. In the fifth example is a perfect visual for the Rule of Thirds. The dress divides the model into 1/3 top and 2/3 on the bottom.
For fall, Boots. I'm tall, so they never make them with a an 18" shaft that comes up to the knee. I don't want over the knee boots bc the leather bends at the wrong point. Great styling tips. Subscribed.
Loved this Danielle! And yay for the fall fashion content! No shade (but shade LOL!) I LOVE to see ANYTHING other than Shein, Target, and Zara content. Let's continue amplifying other mid- to upper-range ($$ or $$$) brands, boutiques and/or other retailers. Love the content you've done with Dilliards, Nordstrom, small businesses and stores like that. Also love styling/what to wear to... (airport, festivals, elevated casual..ski trip..etc) types of videos as well.
Hi! This is the first time i have come across you, and your work is amazing!!!! I would love to see some videos that work for us older ladies, though. I love the looks you showed, but i definitely can't show all that skin! I also look best in long lengths (I'm 1m80, i think that's around 5'10 or 11). I live in a hot country, but people cover up (especially older women like me) for religious reasons, but that doesn't mean i want to walk around in a tent. I am going to subscribe, hoping you will do me a favour! ❤❤❤
Hi Danielle! Great video, thank you for the visual aides, very helpful. For the fall, I would love wearing beautiful, classy, cozy sweaters without looking like I added 20 pounds of bulk.
This was so helpful, thank you!! My biggest pain points for dressing in the Fall are boots & dresses! How to pair them together(ankle vs knee, etc), and I find it hard to find cute dresses that are flattering on a larger tummy and that fit the season🍁 🍂
Loved the comparison! Excited for the fall content, boots and sweaters are always tough for me to find flattering pieces in plus size. Wishing you a relaxing summer hiatus.
Ma'am I NEVER subscribe after 1 video... we'll I did today! It's giving "good sis" vibes! You're energy pulled me right in and I love it! Definitely look forward to hanging out with you! May GOD continue to bless everything you touch 🥰🙏🏾
Yeah. How to pick pants for a big bel-lay? I’ve got the bel-lay and narrow hips. I don’t know what’s going on with my body. I can find jeans, but not pants. 🤔 It’s a mystery.
Always appreciate your tips and styling! My pain points in the fall are coats, boots, and sweaters/sweater dresses. How to balance proportions and not look so frumpy. Also, for colder climes, any suggestions on wearing ankle boots? Enjoy your time off!
I love beautiful long colorful sweaters and coats. I found a beautiful chartreuse green, a marigold yellow, a deep burgundy red, cobalt blue and a black and white sweaters. I plan to pair with jeans, skirts, or slacks. Ive worn the green sweater traveling overseas. It was a hit.
Autumn ready - clothes for when the weather is temperamental (getting ready and staying ready) - Shoes! Easy, comfortable, stylish, for work, for casuals, for date night/outings - staying warm (and dry) without looking chunky
Happy Sunday Danielle Here's to another great video!💯 Kudos to the vendor for using two different sized models, reaching out to you to have you pick out some clothing and to you being savvy enough to use the vendor models in the video. Girl, you are ON IT!😁 Great explanation and the visuals are spelling it out! First and foremost, yes one must have that "baddie/hottie" confidence! The white dress example is so on point. Who would have guesed? The second dress looks like a bedsheet! The magenta dress isnt working. The cutout dress is hot AF!! (Yes I said it!) The two piece white maxi is hot as well. BTW Your energy is contagious and you humor is the best😆 Have a great week! Best wishes always Lori
also, for fall/winter, i think it's how to layer and "dump the frump" b/c i look cray cray drowning in too many clothes. +finding the perfect coat silhouette to not look like the michelin man (both casual & dress) or blazers. also combo w/things like thigh high or knee high boots and dresses or jeans/pants. HIGH QUALITY pieces vs fast fashion that won't last the season.
You are so hilarious, I almost cried out loud laughing when you said (I almost fell). It’s the way you said it. 😂😂😂Girl I really like watching your videos ❤
Great tips!❤ Fall is my fave. I think finding cute boots that are not high heels is a problem for me since I broke my ankle over 4 years ago. I have no balance, but want to look classy. I have doc Martin's but don't wanna wear that style boot with everything.
Love the video! Biggest pain point: dressing in layers to account for multiple different environments/temps within 1 day (inside/ outside + early morning/evening)
So, I wear a vertical striped shirtdress for summer and it's chic and flattering. I think it's because the lines are giving long and leaner. Also, it has a v-neck. It does not show curves, but it doesn't look frumpy.
Oh! also SWEATER DRESSES! Same issue as before with the material, but so many of them are boxy and it's hard to figure out which ones would be the most flattering with a belly.
Love love this video. Thank you. First time viewer and immediate subscriber. 😊 I'd like to talk about shoes when one can't wear high heels. 👠 I still want to look cute. 💙🙏🏽💜
All this is how we used to shop for clothes over 100 yrs ago. Getting the sillouette was the goal, size itself wasn't. People would use corsettes and padding to create the structure, and that would be how you got the look, not necessarily changing your actual body.
2:12 this is the 1st time I've been to your channel and i gotta say i LOVE your commentary! ❤ 7:41 you're excellent at explaining and the words u use make it easy to understand u while also in no way shaming somebody. The imagery is top notch. You'd be an awesome teacher
Hello Danielle, I’m Danielle too!!! The boots for fall is always my down fall!! I have big calves and I love boots but none look good on me anymore since I’ve picked up so much weight!
This is a great video! I just shared it with two family members. Thank you! And to answer your question about my biggest pain point of the upcoming season, mine is finding boots with not just wide calves, but with *extra* wide calves. For reference, I wear a U.S. 6 in women’s shoes, and my calves are 17” & 17.5”. 🤦🏾♀️
I been looking for a video like this for a loooong time. There are other plus size girlies who have made a video similar to this one (for which I am grateful), but I feel like you really touched on ALL the obstacles I run into when I'm trying to pick out something to wear. Thank you, just subscribed! I would love it if you can do a styling video for more inexpensive clothing stores if possible?

This was extremely helpful!!! Wish I had seen this before I placed my most recent clothing order. I'm realizing I added some pieces that won't flatter my belay as much.

The funny thing is that I like all the outfits regardless lol. But that purple dress!!!?! amazing video, can you do swimsuits for big belly girls next 👀
Find some nice jackets and find some nice fall skirts that hit around the calf area I really enjoy watching your utube channel you share such great tips
Can we talk about the drop waist trend from the 2000s not doing the bel - lay any favours !
omg hated it! lol
For reals!
It did no one favors. Even people who didb't look bad, you had to wonder how the pants stayed up when they actually moved.
@@triecampbell1159 totally agree . Even people with totally flat bellies look kinda bloated … but that’s fashion I guess hahahaa … hard pass from this 90s kid
Sweaters always trip me up in the winter. I’m apple shaped. 😊
Gurllah, me too!
V shaped neck lines are for us apple shapes. Vertical lines look great on us

You have such a nice way of putting things. Bel-lay sounds stylish. (Don’t mean I wanna keep it though, no lie). Ditch the frump, so true. But, sometimes oversized clothing is so cozy!!!
Comfortable, fashionable shoes for fall/winter. Can no longer do heels higher than 2".
this is helpful. if you have an 'apron' belly shape, you may have to bring out the shapewear for an assist. 😄
Whats an apron belly?
Preach 🙌🏾🙌🏾
That belly that hangs over your panties like an apron lol 😅@sixteen.candles.4644
For fall: definitely the pullover sweater without feeling like a overpuffed marshmallow.
