  • I Plasti Dipped my Tesla car emblems and Dual Motor Badge in the back! I'm not a plasti dip expert and just did it myself with limited knowledge. For the most part it seems like it turned out pretty good. Will keep you guys posted and updated how it holds up! Really enjoying it so far as it helps me differentiate my Tesla from others on the street! I didn't want to buy a black one on Amazon and debadge the stock ones and glue cheap ones from Amazon on there..

      Hey Faheem! I wish I kept my black logos on! I actually since this video, debadged it and put on the TESLA letters instead haha

    I ended up doing my M3P also. Except I blacked out the the red line under the “duel motor” emblem as well. I think it looks pretty good

      Hi Chaz! Yes, after looking at the underline that I didn’t black out for a month I find it looks very awkward. I’m going to black it out when I get a chance. I think it will certainly look better all black including the line. I would love to see your car!! 😍 thanks for the comment, sir!

    Hyperdip is the same process but a hundred times easier to peel off and around the letters. No picking and scratching.

      Good to know. The only thing is it costs a hell of a lot more.

    Thanks mate, appreciated that, don’t really get how it doesn’t peel of the chrome though! Looks Kickass on the red, betting it would look nice on my white too… do you have to be careful washing it, also aren’t their plenty of “stickers” out there that do a similar job or are they rubbish?

      Hi Brandon! Thanks for the comment! If you give it time to rest between coats and apply enough coats then it should just peel right off without peeling off the chrome.. it will look sick on the white! I’ve seen many white teslas with black emblem/badges. With my girlfriends permission, I might do her car. She thought it looked great and is considering letting me do hers she has a white on white M3LR!
      It usually holds up through washing.. haven’t had issues before, but maybe be careful with it. Also, our cars sit in the garage. I did a sticker before, it doesn’t fully cover the emblem so you can see the chrome on the sides. I didn’t like that. I’d rather just plastidip to be honest. Another alternative is to buy a black emblem off eBay, Amazon, or Ali express and de badge the OEM ones and use the black ones.. Seems a little redundant though..

    What type of alcohol did you use that doesn't mess up the paint?

    Hi, if the back emblem have been plasti dipped and I am touching up some of the edges, do I follow the same steps in the video?

    Good video. But why there is such a big rectangle in front of your California CB***06 plate? 😜
    It's better to use white paper and paste it on the plate, but I'm still curious why people hide their license plates in videos which people see all day when you are on the road.

    • @W3I
      @W3I  Před rokem +1

      Hey Sohail! So I hid it at first on the temporary plate because they had my VIN. Looking back, I don’t think its a big deal if people know your VIN either. In my recent videos I always show my plates there is nothing to hide and you’re absolutely right that people see car license plates everyday. Thanks for sharing and pointing that out though! =) I appreciate your comment Sohail! Check out some of my recent videos too!

    Why the mask in your own garage?

      It’s a habit. I got home from work, changed my clothes and started working on the video/car. Worked on the video without taking it off haha..
      Edit: appreciate the comment 😊
