Is this the coolest travel bass... EVER?!
VloĆŸit

- Traveling with a bass can be a nightmare.
I know this because I've done it a thousand times. I've lost basses, had cases dropped, crushed and everything in-between...
That's why, when a friend told me about a cool new travel bass that you can take to bits in less than a minute and literally wear it on your back in a small rucksack - I was REALLY intrigued!
Long story short... I got my hands on one of these basses and thought it'd be fun to show you guys how it all works... And wait till you see how the neck comes off - it's suuuuper cool!
Ohhh... and, just to make the video a bit more fun... I'm giving away this bass and you can win it!
So....check out this crazy travel bass in the video to find out how to enter.
As always, see you in the shed...
Scott :)

Fast Forward to 4:00 to skip the fluff and see the bass.
Fluff? Where?
Thank you!
Thanks pal, most of his vids are waffle
I like listening to his fluff tho.
Thanks
I know it would be a longshot, but try reaching out to Joe Dart of Vulfpeck. That dude is crazy and I would 100% want to learn from him.
Davie 504 got that bass to
Yes please. Joe dart is the man
Iâm hypnotized by how effortless your playing is
I'm here for Davie504 comments

It would be cool to see Adam Neely in Scott's Bass Lssons I think. He is great and really profesional bassist and he has huge knowledge about music.
WoriusPL oh yeah! :D
I agree, they'd clique well I think
and he doesn't have any hair!
im pretty sure that Adam did a lesson for Academy
Äep
I tried packing my bass this way for a trip. Really didn't go well.
That bass sounds much better amplified than I expected. Thanks!
BTW - I'd love to see Geddy Lee teach at Scott's Bass Lessons.
Geddy Lee !. Yeah brfing him on.
When you find a giveaway and youâre 2 years late .... facepalm....

After a 20+year career playing (heavy!) P-basses exclusively, due to a back injury I've only just recently become interested in short-scale basses. Now played out of necessity... I never knew what I was missing!
My "wish list":
1. Geddy Lee
2. Flea
3. Pino Palladino
Thank you for the great lessons & entertaining vids! U Rock! đđ»

Hey Scott, I'm a 16 year old musician and I'd love to win this bass.
I'd really love to see Kevin Parker teach some bass. Those Tame Impala basslines are godly, especially The Less I Know The Better.
Evan Ka. yes!!!
Evan Ka. this guy needs it
Man my ex ruined that band for me
Jerome derp how so?
She always talked about em and they are great but I just cant listen to them
Outstanding bass, what a great addition to any bass players collection...
So many times I wish someone would come out with a bass like this...
Overhead bass... Simply Amazing, bravo Journey Instruments...
I know this is a little unconventional, but I'd really like to see Rob Scallon on here. As a guitarist, I think he'd be really helpful for guitarists like me to learn bass using techniques that guitarists use or to learn how to play bass without getting guitar skills mixed up in bass playing. He's a great musician and is very well rounded, so I think he'd be great for teaching a variety of things associated with playing bass, like some theory involved as well.
Kristina Montinola He actually started as a bassist. He talks about it on his second channel.
Don't use guitar techniques in bass, it's illegal
YPOU ARE JUST STUPID
Vulfpeck's Joe Dart. I was gonna say Michael League, who would in no way, shape, or form be a BAD addition to the team (seriously, try to hire this guy lmao), but I have to go with Dart. Firstly, i've never before heard a more percussive bassist. I swear this guy's dead note to pitched note ratio is like 60:1, and it's amazing. Even whe he does play, his tone is that of either a whisper or a thick raindrop smacking a puddle, and he yet still maintains the full, tight tone we'd expect from a jazz bass. Joe's quick, precise, and minimalistic; easily a one-of-a-kind bassist, indispensable as a mentor. Check out the songs Back Pocket and My First Car for great examples.
Jake E. Proto I think you and I are the only people who have suggested this legend lol
micheal league>joe dart
michael league < joe dart*
I was looking through the comments to see who would say joe. Really surprised someone did
your roster of employees is incredible now you just need to clone yourself so you can travel and be with your kids at the same time. that bass is stellar. would love to win it.
Beautiful sounding travel base, excellent tones!
actually sounds like a beast, i wasnt expecting much but v surprised!
I know it's likely impossible, but John Deacon. He's my bass hero, and the person I based a lot of my style on. I bet a lot of others would say the same.
Second that! For my money, John Deacon is the most underrated player in all of rock! Pretty easy to get overlooked when your bandmates are Brian May, Roger Taylor and the one and only Freddie Mercury :P
Same, John Deacon, Paul McCartney and Mike dirnt.
Michael league could be really awesome. Love the channel man!
Rasmus Boll yes! make that happen
So many people Davie, Adam Neely, Constantine , and so many more. I love it when you get known artists so obviously people like Geddy Lee, Larry Graham, Freddie Washington, etc...
Awesome Vids and keep up the lessons!
My friend is from Derby and he says it's 3 types of weather in England... raining... just quit raining... and just about to rain
Hey, Scott. I see a lot of people are wanting Davie504 on here, and I think he's an awesome bassist with a great personality, but he doesn't seem like the type to teach. I'd really like to see Tommy Lee Depp on here. His bass covers of songs are so great to listen to and learn, and he's got a really mellow sound in his covers. He's got really good technique that I've been dying to master too. Tommy also gets that theatric aspect to his videos, since he films his covers out in a field. I would really love to learn from him. I would really like to win this bass, since my family us constantly on road trips and camping trips, and while there's always a guitarist present and a keyboardist with a mini keyboard and a percussionist with a cajon or shaker, there's never a bassist around, and it would be great to be able to jam on the move with my family and my band of family friends.
Davie504 used this model bass for the play Africa in Africa challenge!
I sort of get the impression Davie504 doesn't want to teach, he just wants to show his slapping off to a non-bass playing public
Geddy Lee of course! đHe's the reason I started playing bass
100% yes, and he is absolutely hilarious.
''What else would you keep in there?''
''Sheet music''
*laughs in tabs*
Super-cool, little, purple thing! I'd love to hear one fretless! Thanks Scott!
I know this is really crazy but Les Claypool could bring a lot to the table in terms of alternative bass playing. But hey he's one of my favorites so...
Or maybe Michael League he is in my opinion on of the best modern day bass players.
I was gonna say Les too lol
*davie504 wants to know your location*
Davie504 own this bass now also check that video 25 bass guitar in video
My only damn thought when i saw the thumb nail pic lmao
Every bass sounds amazing in Scott's hands
Pretty color... nice accoustic sound and portable anyhow and anywhere...
My personal top three in random order:
Esperanza Spalding
Michael league
Mono Neon
Love the academy Scot! Thanks a lot and keep it up :)
As many others have said, Davie504 would be a great addition to your channel/website. He has a really fun, quirky personality, and creates a good environment for bass playing. (Not to mention he is an awesome bassist!)
Davie504 did a vid of him playing, Under The Bridge... Under A Bridge with this bass!
sounds really good honestly
You just turned a nightmare into a hope of a good time soon! I recently have gone through some rough purchased times. I gave up on those purchase and ordered one of those mini bass guitars. After hearing and seeing.... I believe I did good.
Carol Kaye while this is still possible!
If she isn't available I settle for one of these three:
Jerry Scheff
Julian Crampton
Justin chancellor
Three J's....
Esperanza Spalding! plus the travel bass would be jack pot. 8)
Thomas Paul Jahn holly shit yes!!
Rob scallon would be fantastic seeing as he can play every single instrument. Ever. Loved the video, keep the good content coming!!
Thats the best sounding acoustic bass Ive ever heard! let alone travel bass!
I would like to see Marcus Miller as a faculty member
Bring Michael League, Man!! I would love that!
Tadrio Tabosa please god make it happen!
Well, I was so impressed, I bought one. Just have to wait till it arrives...
Love your work.
Update. Love it, BUT, I would have liked to see an onboard preamp, maybe even with a tuner.
You're travelling so you want to minimise what you carry and as soon as you put it together you have to tune it.
It sounds pretty good out of the box but some fine tuning would be handy together with the ability to mute it when not in use.
All in all though amazing little bass.
i love this bass, my mom loves anything purple... and so i do want to have this awesome bass... i can use inside our church and outside during our household meetings... God bless!
That's EPICO
Invite Les Claypool to share his thoughts on the groovin.
Kamil Tomek Amen
Great choice! ;)
awesome sound
i love the sound of that bass
I'd like to see Victor Wooten on the team haha crossing my fingers to get my first acoustic bass and second bass guitar :))) love you Scott and thank you for inspiring me to practice everyday keep doing your thing
Purple is amazing
Hey Scott, you're awesome, man, even with myself having played for years I continually learn something from you on here. You've helped me to get away from the "plateau" and climb some more toward another level of playing...Thanks for that! Well, I'd like to see either Victor Wooten, Oteil Burbridge, or Billy Sheehan teaching at SBL as well. That'd be groovy. It'd be waycool to win that bass too. As you say, "See ya in the shed."
A fantastic little bass
I would quite like to see you working with rob a call on or davie504
davie !!!
Rob scallon* don't be dumb
*SCOTT HAS STYLE AND CLASS... AND HE IS A TRUE MUSICIAN... THOSE STUPID SHREDDERS ARE HERE ONLY TO IMPRESS STUPID AND INEXPERIENCED STUPID TEENAGERS*

@@pxofpxof7782 congratulations.
you are the piss lord of shit mountain.
all of the village people from far and wide come to feast on the explosive diarrhea that spews out of your mouth with the force of 1000 supernovae.
Michael league for sure!
Kicked Montage Yas!
I wonder what it would sound like with nylon strings like the Kala Ubass? Thanks, Scott, for letting one of us win this travel bass. I love the look! I would love to see some Damian Erskine classes. Thanks again!!!! ROCK ON!!!!
That seems like it would work perfectly for some smooth jazz
Taken the color... Prince would have been cool... đ Lee Sklar ... I'd love to hear him teach!!! â€ïž
Teddy Fagerstrom man that would be very cool!
I want to see my main man Mellonthny Melltanno give a lesson.
The Meme the myth, the legend Anthony Fantano of the TheNeedleDrop. Sean Evans from Hot Ones put him in his show, now its up to you Scott. let be Trilogy of bald men Unite as one.
First Thank you for sharing your knowledge, now for the instructor. I admire the way that Vector Wooten plays the bass, he is a man who has put in his time of learning to play.
Bruh that's so sick I love it
last time i was this early scott got right to the point in his videos
hossein nazeran pour so you didnt want to hear about his leaky roof? lol
Greg C i still watch the whole video though, but it'd be better if he just gets to the point. I love his content
hossein nazeran pour yea I agree
hossein nazeran pour Takes F O R E V E R to get to the meat!
Thatâs what his website is for ;)
Pino Palladino !
I think Adam Neely would be a perfect addition to your faculty members as he knows so much about music theory and how to bring it to players who are nor educated in a way like this. That would help out many players in my opinion and hes also a very kind and nice human who makes you feel comfortable trying new things.
This bass is awesome and my favorite color is purple... That being said I just learned about this channel, definitely subscribed, and couldn't choose a faculty member yet. Looking forward to popping on here and picking up my bass again! I've always wanted an acoustic. At the moment I have a blue and orange 3/4 Flee Bass I'm sure would be best buds with this overhead!đđžđ”đ¶
Nik West? Play that funky music!
I know this seems a bit out of reach, but inviting Christian McBride to teach a lesson would be a great decision, think of how much knowledge he could give! My second choice, since he is at least on the same continent right now, would probably be Davie504, because I know he has the greatest chance of getting the opportunity. I picked up bass after seeing so many awesome metal bassists, Les and Ryan Martinie for example, and seeing how much they contributed to songs. I played metal for awhile until I joined my school jazz band and kind of just dived headfirst into the genre. I learned of Victor Wooten, Christian, and Jimmy Haslip during the process. I really enjoy playing funk and jazz fusion and have a huge interest in the Yellowjackets. If I were to win this bass, I would love to take it on outings. A few friends bring instruments to our boy scout outings on a lot of trips. Seeing how compact and easy this is to store, I believe it would help make our troop band feel more balanced. I also really really like that heavy low tone it has, sounds so powerful for such a small bass.
I love purple Ha!! Nice bass too :)
Great Scott! He's really really awesome, fantastisch player. Thx for the ideas!
I want to see Flea in the faculty
there are way better teachers already
I agree with those asking for Michael League.
Very cool. I have a Hadean ukulele bass ukb-22, which I love. It does not come apart like that bass though. That has a nice tone.
Yes! Purple is you! I love all shades between deep blue to rich purple for basses.
I would like to see Pino Palladino teaching in the faculty!
nbass3d PINO
I'd like to see Mononeon as a Faculty member. Learning how he does his crazy music would be amazing.
Looks like a typical day in the UK! Was in Scotland a few years ago with the same weather!
Scott thanks for all the great videos...Tal Wilkenfeld came to mind as an awesome player - I'd like to hear her perspective on learning music.
I did all the instructions and I would like to see Davie504, Adam Neely or Michael League playing. That's an awesome bass BTW. I would really love this bass, so I can use it for the bands at my school and for me to practice.
Stanley Clarke would be an awesome potential member of the Faculty!!!!!
Hey there, Scott! I think that, despite it being unrealistic, someone like Robert Trujillo would be a great addition to the academy. He is a very skilled bass player, and surprisingly versatile. He could teach a lot about metal bass of course, and I think his right hand technique quite impressive, and obviously it is very fast.
Victor Wooten would be a KOOL addition to the staff.
Love your video format! Keep it up!
Pino Palladino would be amazing to see.
That bass looks pretty good, and I just thought that it'll be cool if Dave Hollingworth, Rob Scallon or Davie504 teaches at your site.
best color for a rainy day !!!
Scott I'd love to see Abraham Laboriel as a faculty member. This man is on another Universe of bassdom. There are many greats but the greats when asked who's is it they admire, Abraham Laboriel is the name heard over and over again. He is as good as it gets. I hope to see him as a faculty on your channel. Fingers crossed on being fortunate enough to be blessed with such a fine travel bass, Godspeed.
Well my ultimate teacher would be Marcus miller.
But! On a more serious note Owen biddle, the old bassist from the roots would be nice.
a class from Thundercat :)
Very good today the weather is Scott đ
Hey! I would love to see Flea giving an extended lesson of his slapping technique. I'm a huge rhcp fan, for many years now and he's just awesome. Little side note, a couple days ago I was thinking I would love to travel the world and every time I'm away I really miss playing "there has to be an alternative" I thought... then the email alert on the video arrived I'm stunned!!
I would love to see Geddy Lee on Scott's bass lessons
Honestly if we had Les Claypool or Adam Neely as faculty members that'd be amazing
Haha, I really can't imagine seeing Claypool teaching anyone at all
Catfight43770 How so?
Catfight43770 Oh, I totally dig Claypool's style of playing, I've picked up quite a lot from the guy myself, however I see him as a very self-taught guy, not much of a teacher. Really can't picture him doing an academy course :)
Dave from Dave's world of fun stuff would be great on your Channel.I enjoy the way he does repairs on guitars and explains the process in such a way as dummies like me can understand. I live in the U.S. and currently have an Ibanez and a Epiphone Bass. Thank you. I find your channel both entertaining and educational .
I would love to see Geddy Lee do lessons on his playing style and on how he writes music. Also that's a great looking and sounding bass, love the purple makes it very unique. I'm in two bands myself and dragging my bass around to practice is always such a drag so this is looking like a great solution for that.
I'd LOVE to see Joe Dart teaching at SBL!
I would love to see Paul McCartney teach !!
I've seen some youtube videos showing him doing some teaching. I'm willing to bet that he really doesn't have the spare time for this. But I could be wrong.
Wise choice
Great base...I did have a finder but it was to bulky! I like that one from Journey instruments. It looks thin with great sound. I play a Peavey millennium BXP with active pickups, just love it.
THE SCOTT DEVINE SIGNATURE BASS NEEDS TO BE PURPLE!!!
Brian Ritchie (violent Femmes) or Klaus Flouride(Dead Kennedys).
I think either of these players could bring some interesting points of view. They also each have cool distinct sounds.
My dream traveller bass.
Victor wooten
He's one of my favorite bass player and love to see him on your show where he plays bass guitar!
It would be amazing If you have Mr Michael League teaching, he is an amazing bassist, really unique.
Daniel Dutra Araujo yes
OMG! You drive from the right sit of the car, incredible đž
Cars are different outside of the US
Kolot or outside Costa Rica, where I'm from. That's a cool base too, btw
John Paul Jones of course - and Kim Deal would be fascinating. I love the purple. It's inspired. I love everything purple!
My dream bassâ€ïž
