    At first when I heard about these, I thought they were too much money. I wasn’t interested. Then after realizing some of the benefits, I thought it was worth a test. After having them on my bike for a few months, I’m going to buy a second set.
    Full disclosure, I didn’t buy the review set, but I also told Fastway I wouldn’t do a video on them if I didn’t like them.

    Fantastic item. I have used them for a couple years. I set up mine 5 mm low and back, one washer extra upward camber, tall studs on EXT and on the outer edge of the peg, short studs on the peg footbed. You never notice the EXT is there but if you put some tape on your boot sole you will see you actually use them often. As an extra benefit the EXT can be a footpeg for a passenger if necessary. And I have also used the EXT as grab handles to move the bike after a crash.

    Fastway ROCKs.
    I bought a used bike with the fastway 2s, very nice pegs, I pulled them when I sold the bike, Ive bought a set of 3s new(love them), and have scored 2 sets of the ankle savors on ksl. our family has 6 sets overall, how can fastway stay in business, our family is set for foitpegs foe the next 4 generations! They LAST.
    the Impact pegs are excellant too!
    thanks for the video
    also, flat pegs, I bet the first moment you felt the pegs on the Sherco, you felt them, lol.

    My co worker came off of a jump and hyper extended his ankle a few years ago, put his lower leg bones right out the back of his ankle. His ankle today is half the size of his good one, pins and plates, all sorts of nerve damage, pain, wrapped in support bandages every day . . . $275 might be a small price to pay if you're gonna ride.

    Adjusting the camber on this system also twists the footpegs because they are mounted on an angle to the frame. Just like when your footpeg folds up it twists back as it does so. Keep that in mind.

    Had these on my ktm 300. They work great to protect your ankle. That being said, I was at a race a couple years ago and it was rutted and had lots of roots. I stalled the bike (while in the lead) in and uphill rut. The bike rolled backwards and the heel extension got caught under an exposed root. Once I got off of the bike, the rear suspension extended basically locking it to the root. Took me several minutes and a lot of energy to free the bike. Went from first to last.

  • @NWDirtbiker
    @NWDirtbiker Před 3 lety +2

    I love Fastway pegs! With that being said I have bent one of the aluminum Air pegs just by hitting the outside of my boot on a tree root at speed. I then switched to the stainless version. Note of caution, if you get the stainless pegs, you might want to carry an extra peg pin. I hit my peg on a stump and snapped the foot peg pin. I was over 20 miles from the truck with no spare. It was an interesting ride back.

    • @stevebaum
      @stevebaum Před 3 lety +1

      Mike Weis , I’ve bent two aluminum ones as well. One was a drop & slide down a long steep rock, the other was a stump.

    In the low position, if you squeeze your bike with your feet, you might feel the peg bracket. Some bikes have more prominent brackets then others. All of the cleats they make feel like ball bearings when its muddy.

    6061 is not used anywhere on aircraft except for the cup holders and door knobs (aircraft grade just means the material has a MIL spec and a certification of conformity). But the extra material cost of 2024 still doesn't justify the cost IMO, but boutique stuff is just that.

  • @sfade6217
    @sfade6217 Před 3 lety

    Had those on my Sherco and didnt like in low position. You end up standing on the clevis pin tab as it is now exposed when trying to keep feet in tight. 2nd your heel will get all hung up in kickstand and require modification. 3rd you will strip those Allen cleats if you use the red locktight. Beware. I bought mainly to lower pegs so didnt work for me. Sold on eBay. Ended up with buying Flo lower pegs and modified my kickstand. I dont hit big jumps so the ext wasnt needed.
