    Love your channel! I have a lot of respect for your ability to figure things out and be creative with solutions to challenges that come your way. I’m just getting started with building my own camping vehicle and I’m starting out with what I have, to see if I want to pursue that lifestyle in the future or stick with a more traditional lifestyle. I’m 67 and retired with a background in construction and structural engineering, so I usually do DIY projects instead of buying finished products wherever possible, or practicable.

I think I’m honing-in on a medium-size 4x4 chassis truck with a self-build cabin now! The subframe suspension / isolation is one of the biggest questions I’ve been pondering so was interested to hear you talk about that. It was quite heartwarming to hear the backstory and how you worked up to this not only over multiple years, but through 2 other camping rigs. Wow! One little note I have is that _kilometres_ is pronounced just like "nanometres", not like "thermometers", because it's a unit and not a device. A "kilometer" would come in handy in you wanted to track how many bears you slayed, or something like that.

    First, thank you for sharing your build : ) DIY builds like this are not that common. I think that some of the issues with the foam core come from the Dowboard surface. I am thinking the composite delaminates if the surface is not prepped right. Some score it with a brush. I am aware that Styromax and others use a special board, not available here, which has no coating on the surface. Their results are good.

    Been wanting a vehicle like this but finding the frame in Europe isn't so easy unless you have a massive budget, So I am using land rover discovery 2 and a gordigear Roof tent works great and love it, but I know I will want the creature comforts at somepoint like your vehicle, Greeting from a Canuck living in Europe

    I'm so happy I found your channel. Truly amazing work! Your videos on the aluminum work and fiberglass have been extremely helpful. I am currently trying to decide between the F series Fords or the surplus Stewart and Stevenson m1078 for my platform. Thanks for the motivation!

    Hi Guys. Loving your channel. Would you mind sharing the part number for those Energy Suspension poly body mounts?

      @Everlanders  Před 6 lety +2

      9-4102R was the model number we used, but we've since swapped them out for custom made Delrin bushings. You can see these in the video where we reinstalled box. czcams.com/video/lpzkHvQA-t8/video.html

    Question, have you thought about using bullet resistant windows? Sometimes you can find them used from old banks and such, btw awesome build! and thanks for sharing.

    • @Everlanders
      @Everlanders  Před 6 lety

      Neat! If you really needed windows, they may be something to look into. My first impression is that they are heavy and offer no insulation and thus would be a huge thermal bridge. But for us, we kinda love not having windows, so it's not on the list right now.

    Hi, I love your videos. thank you so much. you're very talented but I was soooooo disappointed I didn't totally understand how your anti torsion works. I saw some done on unimog. but never seen your setup before. can you explain again why you put the yellow stuff and how the nematic bags work. are they in the back, front? how much pressure do you put in them during off road.

    • @Everlanders
      @Everlanders  Před 6 lety

      I can't explain it any clearer than that ...
