Of course it does but upon hearing this makes me appreciate her originality. She’s just a natural. There’s no denying Jones’ Hammond Organ work on this song…it’s so beautiful and as unique as a fingerprint. Unless you already know about it, please look up the Zeppelin live version from Montreaux 1970. He does an awesome intro on the B-3 organ.
Nobody could have performed this anyway wonderful song better! Plus, it expresses exactly the almost "magical" connection, which my - unfortunately - past wife and I had. Two people, who all the time had been grateful and thankful for having each other in a not so nice world...
If I'm not mistaken this is from Montreux 1991 before her superstardom. Her first solo release Me and the Gun was released in October, this was filmed in July. She was here opening for Moody Blues.
well............sheer perfection.goose bumps......there are artists ........then there is tori amos !!!!!!!!!! i have loved tori since i first heard her 26 years ago.amazing origanal music and covers.....this my favorite cover .also hear somewhere over the rainbow .....wow .............
It takes a lot of punch to play a CP80 Yamaha like Tori does, which is a testament to how important what she expresses is. His talent has no limits and we can only love her when hearing her play and sing. Wonderful artist.
She did release a studio EP called Crucify that had three covers (Thank You, Angie and Smells Like Teen Spirit) as well as different (better) versions of Crucify and Winter.
Very few cover performances give me that closed eye feeling where the sound tickles your soul like the original. This is an exception. Tori doesn't try to be Robert Plant. She puts her raw vocal attitude and vulnerability into this performance and makes it her own. It's an absolute joy to hear. Keyboard arrangement is outstanding ! Thank you to Rick Beato for turning me onto this performance ! Bravo Tori !
Sheeeeit, LOL, claerly you haven't heard Zeppelin's "softer side" much, heh. May I recommend "The Rain Song," "Going to California," and "That's the Way," for starters. Enjoy! And yes, props to Tori for her gorgeous homage to this beauty!

Howard Flogel Hi Howard! I heard this before I knew the original, too! I adore Zep's own version now of course but Tori's performance here has me in tears every time!
That whole section is gone, and I swear she sings "tears of run thrust in the days gone by" - how "loves lost" became "run thrust", I'm not quite sure that's even a thing . . .

@@jkk5223 you are right it is my opinion that this is a terrible version of a great song. Her adaptation of the song is not representative of the original and therefore has lost any meaning and that is not really the point of doing a cover is it?
@@neiljackson3384 I respect your opinion. If everybody liked the same thing, music would be bland. I'm curious of what you think of Tool's version of No Quarter? I'm a huge Tool fan, but I like Zeppelin's original better. And I still think that that song is the best song to listen to when I'm smoking a little greenery. Just my opinion. ✌️
